Rockzeline signs multiplatform sci-fi 'Restoration', web series 'Jade of Death'

Rockzeline, the Paris-based sales agent which reps the likes of The Wizards of Aus, Airlock and Wastelander Panda, has picked up two Aussie titles: multiplatform sci-fi thriller Restoration and web series Jade of Death.

Rockzeline has offices in Paris, Los Angeles, Montreal and Sydney, and specialises in digital short-form projects..

They also produce original content in Australia through their production subsidiary Deadrock, a partnership between Enzo Tedeschi.s Deadhouse Films and Rockzeline.

Directed by Stuart Willis and produced by Midnight Snack Productions, Restoration is set in a near-future world where humans have their memories downloaded for backup via a new and dangerous technology.

The one-hour film, which stars Craig McLachlan, premiered on Nine in August last year, and in New Zealand on Sky TV.s sci-fi channel The Zone in December. It also secured a berth on Stan, where it.s currently available to stream.

That's a wrap: 'The Doctor Blake Mysteries' to end with telemovie sendoff

The final installment of The Doctor Blake Mysteries will take the form of a telemovie, with the ABC and December Media closing the door on a show that debuted in 2012 and has consistently been the top rating local drama series on Aunty.

Starring Craig McLachlan and Nadine Garner, the show's fifth season will launch later in the year on ABC and iview and will conclude with a movie-length finale.

ABC Head of Scripted Production Sally Riley said the show had had a "sensational run on the ABC and we feel that the time is right to go out while we are still on top.".

Rockzeline boards Australian sci-fi thriller 'Restoration'
Exclusive: Stu Willis directed story in multiple formats.

Paris-based Rockzeline will sell Restoration in its original 50-minute single episode broadcast format in addition to two 25-minute and five 10-minute episodes.

The deal covers all territories excluding Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, where the film has already secured distribution.

Willis directed Restoration and Midnight Snack ProductionsToby Gibson produced. The story takes place in a near-future world where human memories are backed up via a dangerous new technology.

Craig McLachlan, Grant Cartwright, Nadia Townsend, Stephen Carracher, Rosie Lourde, Elizabeth Nabben and Ailís Logan star.

Producers Midnight Snack Productions hatched a production plan to develop the project across multiple formats for different release platforms in order to reach as wide an audience as possible.

Sci-fi thriller Restoration recently aired on the Nine Network and is currently streaming on Stan.

Shot at Docklands and on location around Melbourne, the film is set in a near-future world where humans are able to have their memories downloaded and backed up.

Oliver Klein (Grant Cartwright, Barracuda) wakes up.after a routine backup with his memories restored into the body of another man (Steve Carracher, Vanished).

An old shed on Glebe Island wharf, littered with boat-building machinery and tools, sets the tone for one of the dramatic final scenes of Sbs.s new four-part series, Deep Water, starring Noah Taylor and Yael Stone..

Stone and Taylor play detectives investigating a brutal murder case which appears to be connected to the real-life gay hate crimes that swept through Sydney in the .80s and .90s.

But it was a more recent murder which spurred Blackfella Films. producers Darren Dale and Miranda Dear to get the series moving.

Dear and Dale, coincidentally were both in Potts Point, Sydney, when a particularly violent murder took place.

Noah Taylor and Orange is the New Black's Yael Stone will star in Sbs.s new four-part crime drama series, Deep Water, produced by Blackfella Films.

Barracuda unearths new talent

Newcomers Elias Anton and Ben Kindon are playing the leads in Barracuda, the 4-part Matchbox Pictures drama for ABC directed by Rob Connolly.

The ABC revealed the casts and storylines of its 2016 adult dramas, all previously commissioned and announced, at its upfronts presentation on Tuesday night.

Neighbours 30th anniversary: Special broadcasts planned on Channel 5

Channel 5 has revealed plans to celebrate Neighbours' 30th anniversary with a special companion show and repeats of two classic episodes.

Neighbours reaches its milestone on March 18 with a number of big storylines planned to mark the occasion, including the returns of 12 past characters.

As well as the celebrations in the main show, Channel 5 will be airing a one-off special titled Neighbours 30th: The Stars Reunite, which will celebrate the soap's ongoing success and take a look back at some of the most colourful cast members.
