Lucifer Season 3 Episode 3 Review – ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mazikeen Smith’

Tori Brazier reviews the second episode of Lucifer season 3…

Episode three of Lucifer’s third season heralds a welcome return for demon Mazikeen, Lucifer’s right-hand woman, who essentially went off to “find herself” once she realised Lucifer wasn’t planning on returning to hell anytime soon. As a soulless being who had been sleeping with Lucifer’s brother, the archangel Amenadiel, it’s fair to assume she had a reasonable amount of issues through which to work.

Lesley-Ann Brandt clearly relishes the part of Maze – not only does she get to handle dangerous weapons and wear rather a large amount of black leather, but she also expertly channels capable ‘bad ass’ with her dry and unfrazzled delivery of lines, no matter what the topic. She also enjoys odd-couple friendships with (at this rate, group) therapist Linda (Rachael Harris), who makes great mortal foil to the celestial and demonic beings

Lucifer: Maze Chases Bounty to Canada. Chloe and Lucifer Worries.

When Mazikeen Smith, or Mazikeen of the Lilim, is on your tail, you’re pretty much a goner. Once she gets her hands on you, she will hand you your butt on a silver platter. Quite literally. Though on tonight’s episode of Lucifer, a con artist/killer makes our resident demoness’s job a whole lot harder. There isn’t much of a case this week as Maze hunts down a man named Ben Rivers (guest star Chris McKenna). The man allegedly killed two teenagers in cold blood and has been on the run ever since. The demoness is determined to find Rivers and

Grimm Season 6: Cast, EPs Talk 'Great Sorrow and Great Hope' in Final Run
You may be sad that Grimm‘s final season is half as long as its previous ones… but the supernatural series’ showrunners sure aren’t.

“There was a chance that we would have gotten 22 [episodes], and we were going, ‘Oh my God,'” James Kouf says, laughing. He and his fellow showrunner, David Greenwalt, are sitting on folding chairs just outside one of Grimm‘s main stages in Portland., Ore., taking advantage of a break in filming the NBC drama’s penultimate episode to chat with visiting reporters. “That’s a long trek,” Greenwalt adds. “We did that for five years.

There’s lots of movement in the Portland Police Department these days: In addition to Grimm‘s Capt. Renard leaving the force to become mayor, State of Affairs star Chris McKenna is joining the NBC supernatural drama as a “formidable” lieutenant, TVLine has learned.

McKenna will play Lt. Grossante, a “formidable and driven” an “military-type” cop, per the official character description. McKenna, who announced his casting via Twitter on Tuesday, is officially signed on for one episode but will probably appear in more.

Review: Stuart Gordon’s Taste

  • DailyDead
Based on my experiences at his previous theater offerings here in Los Angeles over the last few years, I knew I was going to be in for a delectable time with Stuart Gordon’s latest play, Taste, which opens this weekend at the Sacred Fools Theatre Company (660 N. Heliotrope, Hollywood) and runs through May 17, 2014. A gut-wrenching and often times horrifying exploration of isolation and what it means to truly connect with others, Taste is a truly haunting experience.

Loosely based on the real-life incident where two men found each other on Craigslist so that one could be cannibalized by the other, Taste follows two men named Vic (Chris L. McKenna) and Terry (Donal Thoms-Cappello). After befriending each other online, they meet for a gruesomely unique dinner party with Vic wanting to be cooked and consumed by his new pal and Terry, an aspiring chef, happily agreeing to go along with the plan.

Stuart Gordon’s Taste Is Now Open! Icons’ Brief Thoughts!

To those of you in the Los Angeles area, you are in for a err….. delicious treat! Fans of “Master Of Horror” Stuart Gordon know that he comes from a stage background, and now he’s back with a brand new twisted play, Taste written by Benjamin Brand, which is now officially open at the Sacred Fools Theater. One of the things as a fan I’ve always appreciated about Gordon, both his work in film (or television) and stage is that he’s consistently doing something different and loves playing with his audience. I think the less you know about Taste, the better. All you really need to know is that it’s loosely based upon the story of the Rotenburg Cannibal. Yep, that was that demented true tale you heard about that guy who sought out a man via the Internet to eat & consume him of his own free will.

‘Castle’ Season 5, Episode 5: ‘The Final Frontier’ Recap

  • Screen Rant
Whether or not you’ve ever seen an episode of Castle, if you consider yourself a sci-fi geek, this latest episode is worth the watch. Directed by Star Trek: The Next Generation alum, Jonathan Frakes – who also has a brief cameo in the opening sequence with Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) – the show also pulled in some great sci-fi guest stars like Christina Moore from True Blood, Ed Quin from Eureka, Erin Way from Alphas, and Armin Shimmerman from Star Trek: Deep Space 9. Chris McKenna also guest stars, though his claim to fame is playing the role of Joey Buchanan on One Life To Live; the same role Fillion played back in the day. There are also no less than four references to Fillion’s cult sci-fi hit, Firefly. Coming in ...

Castle 5.06 Sneak Peeks: Murder at a Sci-fi Convention

Beckett and Castle are delving into the world of science fiction conventions in the next all new episode of Castle.

In "The Final Frontier", the dynamic duo heads to a sci-fi convention to investigate a murder, which leads to Castle learning about Beckett's past as a sci-fi geek.  The show went all out, casting several actors from other cult and sci-fi shows as guest stars for the episode, including: Armin Shimerman ("Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"), Ed Quinn ("Eureka"), Christina Moore ("True Blood"), Erin Way ("Alphas") and Chris McKenna ("One Life to Live").  ABC warns that the convention will be "a world of egotistic celebrities, diehard costumed fans and enough drama for two galaxies".

Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion take Castle to The Final Frontier

  • Boomtron
Castle fans are in the midst of a two week hiatus between episodes, with the next of the season 5 offerings coming at you on October 29th, so we are here to offer some reprieve, though we are going far future in more ways than one. This is a large promo image gallery for “The Final Frontier”, the November 5th episode of Castle. It looks like a special treat for Fillion fans, who think Captain Malcolm Reynolds should still be on tv. Stana Katic’s Beckett doesn’t look appalled either.

“The Final Frontier” is an apt title, not only because the show is going into nerd territory, but also because it’s directed by former Star Trek #1, Jonathan Frakes, who also (as you can see) makes a cameo guest appearance. In fact, guest stars about, with Ed Quinn, Chris McKenna, and Erin Way also set to appear.

The winners of the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards are...

Following the announcement of the Creative Arts Emmys earlier this month, the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out last night during a star-studded ceremony at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles as the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences celebrated the very best in primetime programming over the past year.

Despite being nominated in 17 categories, acclaimed drama Mad Men failed to register a single award, with its four year stream as Outstanding Drama Series broken by the Golden Globe-winning Homeland, while the other top honours went to Modern Family (Outstanding Comedy Series), Game Change (Outstanding Miniseries or TV Movie), The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Series) and The Amazing Race (Outstanding Reality-Competition Program).

Homeland continued its success in the acting categories, with Damian Lewis and Clare Danes named as Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress (Drama) respectively), while it also received the award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.
