He stood 7' 6" but was frequently shot so as to look even taller. In particular, as Karl in Big Fish (2003), he was meant to look more than 10 feet tall (more than a foot taller than the tallest recorded man ever), and much camera-trickery was used to make him look this tall.
Worked as a bouncer at a bar in his hometown of West Chester where he became friends with Bam Margera and the rest of the Viva La Bam crew.

Had injured his foot on the set of The Devil's Rejects (2005) and was unable to play Tiny for a short time. To compensate, the crew found a 7-foot-4-inch stuntman to double for him. So, during most of the scene when you see Tiny dragging the naked body through the woods, up until he removes the sack on his head, it is the stuntman.
Even though he died in August 2005, he appeared in Guiness World Records 2006 Book for having the longest feet of any living person.
Was scheduled to play André the Giant in Andre: Heart of the Giant (2007), and even filmed a few scenes, before he died. Director Rokki James Hollywood, who was a friend of McGrory, said that McGrory's footage will be saved for the credit sequence, as an homage to him.
Was ambidextrous.
