Jeri Ryan has landed a guest-starring role on NCIS as Gibbs’ (Mark Harmon) never-before-seen ex-wife, EW has learned. The Body of Proof and Leverage alum will play Rebecca, who will appear in an episode slated for January 2015. NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg first revealed to TVLine the plan to meet Gibbs’ missing ex last January, saying, “I can promise you that it is probably going to get touched on in Season 12.” Introducing the character, he effused, promises to be “[storyline] gold.”

To recap Gibbs’ wedded misses: He was first married to Shannon (played by Scandal‘s Darby Stanchfield), who, »

At some point the episodes begin to blend into one another and the ideas don’t seem all that inspired anymore. What makes me think this is just how excited the creatives behind NCIS seem to be about the possibility of finally introducing Gibbs’ second ex-wife. Sure, it’s someone we’ve heard about, but has remained entirely unknown and mysterious. Is it really worth a whole storyline for?

While it hasn’t been officially ordered, it looks like Season 12 is going to be the place for this character’s introduction. Gary Glasberg told TVLine that Ex-wife No. »
