ABC News taps Muir to anchor overnights

ABC News has named Boston anchor/reporter David Muir as its new face on World News Now, and World News This Morning, which air from 2-5 a.m. and 5-6 a.m. ET, respectively. He replaces Derek McGinty who left for an anchor job at WUSA-TV in Washington D.C. Muir, who worked at ABC affiliate WCVB, will also do some reporting, according to a network spokeswoman. Muir spent one month covering the war in Iraq this year, and won honors as part of a team that traced the paths of the terrorists who flew out of Boston's Logan Airport on 9/11. He spent three years in Boston after working for five years at WVTH-TV, a CBS outlet in Syracuse, N.Y. »
