An accompliushed Broadway star, He created the role of John Jasper in "Drood" and also starred as Molina in "Kiss of the Spider Woman" and Billy Crocker in "Anything Goes" on the New York Stage. McGillin was twice nominated for the Tony Award.
Was twice nominated for Broadway's Tony Award: in 1986 as Best Actor (Featured Role - Musical) for "The Mystery of Edwin Drood;" and in 1988 as Best Actor (Musical) for playing Billy Crocker in a revival of "Anything Goes."

(April 2007) Taking a vacation during the first 3 weeks of May, and then will return once more to the Broadway production of "The Phantom of the Opera" to continue his record-setting run as the title character.
(January 2008) On January 26, 2008, played The Phantom of the Opera for the musical's 20th Anniversary performance on Broadway.
