23 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

A couple of days ago director Zack Snyder announced that he would be leaving his directorial duties of the upcoming Dceu movie Justice League, and that Joss Whedon would be coming aboard to finish the film.

Snyder revealed that his daughter Autumn Snyder tragically committed suicide back in March, and while he was initially going to keep working on the movie as a form of healing, he ultimately decided to step down to mourn, and be with his family. This shocking news was met with a huge amount of support from the studio, cast, and his fanbase. In response to the outpouring of support, the director sent out this Tweet:

Thanks for the outpouring of support. I can't express how much it means to Debbie & I and Autumn’s mother, Denise, at such a difficult time.

Zack Snyder steps down from Justice League after family tragedy, Joss Whedon to complete film

22 May 2017 3:45 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Some very sad news this evening, as Zack Snyder has announced that he is stepping down from Warner Bros.’ upcoming superhero blockbuster Justice League following the death of his daughter Autumn Snyder. Joss Whedon, director of Marvel’s The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, it set to finish the film ahead of its November release date.

THR is reporting that Autumn committed suicide in March, and although the filmmaker was initially keen to return to work following a two-week break on the production, he and his wife and producing partner Deborah Snyder have now decided to step away in order to deal with the immediate effects of the tragedy.

“In my mind, I thought it was a cathartic thing to go back to work, to just bury myself and see if that was way through it,” said Snyder. “The demands of this job are pretty intense. It is all consuming. »

Justice League rumored to undergo massive reshoots, studio insiders deny claim

17 May 2017 5:28 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It has been reported that the upcoming Justice League movie has been undergoing massive reshoots before its November release date, with the rumour even going as far to say that the film has been “remade… twice”, with further significant reshoots planned.

Given the critical reception of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad (a movie that also underwent reshoots), this report could naturally lead fans to assume that Justice League is in trouble. However, according to a Warner Bros. insider, these reshoots are being blown way out of proportion. This unnamed studio insider recently spoke to The Wrap to put people at ease:

“There has been no additional photography to date on Justice League, we have planned and will shoot additional pickups early summer. Additional photography has always been planned like most pictures in general but certainly for a tentpole of Justice League’s size and scope.”

A Hero Is Born In Latest Clips For Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword

1 May 2017 8:44 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

As part of its annual summer preview, Yahoo Movies recently invited King Arthur: Legend of the Sword into the limelight in order to showcase a never-before-seen action shot of Charlie Hunnam’s title hero standing tall, Excalibur in hand; now, the outlet has unearthed a moody new clip in which Michael McElhatton’s Jack’s Eye can be seen dishing out words of wisdom to the man who would be king.

Indeed, McElhatton is by no means the only Game of Thrones actor to feature in Legend of the Sword; Aiden Gillen, who plays the role of Littlefinger so brilliantly on HBO’s fantasy flagship, also stars as Sir William/Goosefat Bill. But when it comes to the star-studded cast that Warner Bros. and Guy Ritchie have assembled, we’re just beginning to scratch the surface. TV Review: ‘Genius’ on National Geographic

24 April 2017 2:01 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

One of Albert Einstein’s many accomplishments was unlocking entirely new ways of thinking: His theories about how time and space operate led to radical shifts in how physicists — and many ordinary people — view the building blocks of the universe.

So it’s odd that “Genius,” a clunky adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s sprightly biography of Einstein, doesn’t more effectively make use of the basic elements of Einstein’s eclectic and well-traveled life. If the goal was to fill out the pop-culture image of Einstein — who’s been depicted in many a dorm-room poster as an impish rebel with his tongue stuck out — this series is only occasionally successful. “Genius” is more often hampered by an approach that is often unsubtle and unworthy of such a precise and rigorous thinker.

Episodes one and two jump around to a few different periods in the Nobel Prize winner’s life, but in the early going, “Genius »

Superman featured in new Justice League promo photo

Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel stands alongside his fellow superfriends in a brand new promotional image for Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Check it out below…

The image comes courtesy of Rubie’s, a licensed company that designs, manufactures and sells costumes for a wide variety of properties, including DC Comics; it promotes www.jointheleague.com, a new website that allows users to receive exclusive news and content regarding Justice League.

Ever since the first Justice League photo was revealed at Comic-Con in 2016, Superman has been noticeably absent from Warner Bros.’ marketing campaign for the highly anticipated superhero team-up film. The studio’s decision to leave the character out of trailers, posters and images over the past year certainly makes sense, considering how Superman did, in fact, die at the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it would come as a surprise to no one that »

Diane Lane confirms Justice League return, defends Batman v Superman’s Save Martha scene

22 April 2017 5:52 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

This probably won’t come as much of a surprise, despite Warner Bros.’ best efforts to keep Superman out of the marketing material, but Diane Lane has confirmed that she will be reprising her Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice role as Martha Kent in November’s Justice League.

“I don’t think I’m allowed to talk much about it,” said Lane in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “But it was good for me, selfishly, to have a reunion with everyone and meeting some of the new characters.”

The actress was also asked for her thoughts on Batman v Superman’s much-ridiculed ‘Save Martha’ scene, dismissing the criticism and stating that she found it appropriate for the story: “It’s the compassion for a man who’s lost his mother. When you understand the wound, you can work better with people.”

Newswire: Game Of Thrones actor has a role in Justice League, a movie he says is funny

Justice League—which already has Ciarán Hinds and Jason Momoa—has another Game Of Thrones alum set to appear. In an interview with Red Carpet News TV, Roose Bolton himself, Michael McElhatton, vaguely discussed his role in Zack Snyder’s superhero extravaganza. McElhatton wouldn’t say just how he’s involved, and even alluded to the fact that his part could be cut. However, he did try to make the case that the film isn’t just going to be a dour slog, something Snyder has been trying to push for a while.

“There’s probably going to be a lot more humor in it,” he said. “I think would probably be the main difference compared to the previous one.” But McElhatton also noted the “big” opening scene that he filmed “was pretty dark, actually, in its tone.” He added: ”But in a good way. Justice League Opening Scene Features a Game of Thrones Star

Last month, Warner Bros. unveiled the first full-length Justice League trailer, but with exactly seven months left until this superhero ensemble hits theaters, it remains to be seen if much more footage will be released. Today we have word that Game of Thrones star Michael McElhatton, who played the nefarious Roose Bolton on the HBO series, has a mystery role in the superhero ensemble. While he wouldn't say who he's playing, but the actor did tease that he is in the movie's opening scene, which is quite dark. Although the movie as a whole has more humor than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Irish actor Michael McElhatton – best known for his role of Roose Bolton in HBO’s Game of Thrones – has revealed that he is appearing in November’s DC blockbuster Justice League, and although he’s keeping his part to himself, he did offer a few tidbits of info during an interview with Red Carpet News TV.

“The scene I did, well at the moment I can say it’s a big kind of opening scene,” said McElhatton. “It was pretty dark actually, in it’s tone. But in a good way.. I quite like that. It wasn’t comic booky, but you can thread a certain amount of humor in it, which maybe the previous one was lacking. There’s probably going to be a lot more humor in it, I think would be the main difference compared to [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice].”

Justice League Actor Says His Scene Wasn’t ‘Comic Booky’

17 April 2017 9:37 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Today’s age of comic book movies really is an embarrassment of riches. Growing up, I remember assuming that any film based on my favorite comic book characters would likely fall short, and end up being a boring shadow of what I’d hoped it would be. Nowadays, we have the likes of Marvel Studios, Fox, and DC churning out ridiculously faithful fare that would be the envy of any comic book fan in decades past.

Of course, not every film is perfect. Marvel Studios and Fox don’t have perfect records, and the DC has had a hard time getting its own universe in order, and many tend to point to the tone established in Batman v Superman as one of the potential issues. The film was dark and grim, almost completely devoid of any humor. While that isn’t the only problem the flick had, it’s certainly the most cited, »
