Did You Know?


In 1961 BBC radio banned McDaniels' song "100 Pounds of Clay" because it "indicated" that women were created from building materials, which the network considered to be blasphemous. A cover version by UK artist Craig Douglas was also banned but he re-recorded it with slightly different lyrics and achieved a top-ten hit. See more »
