‘Game Change’ Trailer Teases Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin

30 December 2011 3:12 AM, PST | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

When HBO wanted to create an adaptation of the best-selling book “Game Change,” about the 2008 presidential race between John McCain and Barack Obama, they picked up the phone and called Jay Roach – the director behind Austin Powers and The Fockers who also delivered them the television movie Recount. Now, Roach has covered, semi-fictionally, politics in 2000 and in 2008. Slog through the dialogue between Woody Harrelson as Steve Schmidt (the Republican strategist) and Ed Harris as McCain, and you’ll be rewarded briefly with who will inevitably be the real star of the show, Julianne Moore slingin’ a down home twang as Sarah Palin. The question is this: with so much going on socially and economically, are we really interested in going back in time to examine a reality television star? And how will film fan Meghan McCain feel about seeing herself portrayed on screen? And what do you think?! »

I always thought Pailn’s nomination was a publicity, strategic decision. It seems I was correct.

The trailer begins with a discussion between John McCain, played by Ed Harris, and his senior campaign strategist Steve Schmidt, played by Woody Harrelson, the New York Post reported.

The Beagle Has Landed: Ed Schultz Introduces The World To Rex The ‘Republican-Hating’ Dog

In what was probably the eighth or ninth iteration of the point-and-laugh-at-Fox White House Christmas card story, MSNBC host Ed Schultz managed to top them all, with an assist from a temporary co-host named Rex. Schultz set up the story by introducing the adorable animal shelter beagle, a stand-in for First Dog Bo Obama, whose presence on the White House card, and on a presidential shopping trip, prompted ridiculous criticism from the likes of Sarah Palin and Sen. John McCain. »

Robert Pattinson, Sarah Palin and “Prometheus” in new Trailer Park

22 December 2011 10:27 AM, PST | Hollywoodnews.com | See recent Hollywoodnews.com news »

Hollywoodnews.com: Three trailers have reached the Web as people attempt to scurry away from their laptops and enjoy the holidays with friends and family. But they are worth watching, so take a moment and enjoy the cinematic teases.

First, Ridley Scott has dropped our first look at “Prometheus,” a sci-fi adventure with a stellar cast (Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace) that most thought would be a prequel to his seminal “Alien” (and many still believe will be connected somehow). Either way, Scott’s return to science-fiction heralds attention no matter what he’s attempting, and so “Prometheus” is high on our radar heading into 2012. Here’s the first trailer:

Next up is “Bel Ami,” Robert Pattinson’s steamy period romance that finds the “Twilight” heartthrob sleeping his way through Europe in search of wealth and power. Now that sounds like a tough task for the young actor, don’t you think? »

Watch: Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin in 'Game Change,' Robert Pattinson Sleeps His Way Through Paris in 'Bel Ami' & Gwar Reviews 'War Horse'

Based on the tell-all book from New York Magazine's John Heilemann and Time’s Mark Halperin, HBO's Game Change now has a trailer. The story will focus on former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's entry into John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign. The biggest reason to pay attention is to see Julianne Moore looking and sounding eerily like the once Republican vice-president candidate. Ed Harris makes a great McCain, and Woody Harrelson stars as his adviser Steve Schmidt. Palin has said that she will not be running for president in the upcoming election, but has also made mention that it wasn't too late for her to join the race (sounds confusing, as always). John McCain: ‘President Should Play Much More Of A Lead Role’ Rather Than Shop For His Dog

Arizona Senator and 2008 Presidential Candidate John McCain was a guest on Fox News Thursday morning, and -- even though he's already home in Arizona -- he told Fox and Friends host Brian Kilmeade that he "hopes to be called back to Washington" to work out a compromise on the payroll tax cut standstill. But he doesn't believe that anything will happen until President Barack Obama steps in and asks Senators and Representatives to come back to D.C. and hammer something out. So far, McCain has not been impressed with the President's leadership on this issue. »

Julianne Moore Performs as Sarah Palin in Game Change Trailer

22 December 2011 5:45 AM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

We knew she had perfected Sarah Palin's look. Now, in the first Game Change trailer, we see that Julianne Moore sounds just like the Alaskan politician, too. Moore, 51, has just one line in the trailer - in which she accepts the Republican nomination for vice president in 2008 - but she delivers it in the classic Palin voice, one previously imitated to perfection by Tina Fey. The movie, coming to HBO in March, also stars Ed Harris as John McCain and Woody Harrelson as his campaign manager. - Tim Nudd Related: Julianne Moore & Uma Thurman Party Together in N.Y. »

TVLine has got the first trailer from HBO’s film “Game Change,” starring Ed Harris as Sen. John McCain and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. The trailer, which also features Woody Harrelson as McCain’s campaign manager Steve Schmidt, is amazing, simply for the fact that the casting was nailed perfectly. These actors look so much like the real-life people they’re portraying that it’s almost horrific. But it’s also amazing in how the film plays the Republican side out to be something of a horror story. 'Game Change': Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin

HBO just released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming film "Game Change," starring Julianne Moore as Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. (We're not sure she's better than Tina Fey, but really, who could be?)

The film follows John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign from the beginning to his decision to pick a game changer like Sarah Palin to their ultimate defeat to Barack Obama. If you can deal with the accent for the entire film, you'll also get to see Ed Harris as Sen. John McCain and Woody Harrelson as McCain adviser Steve Schmidt.

The trailer shows McCain and Schmidt deciding that, with an African-American man like Barack Obama in the running, they needed to pick someone that might be a game changer for their campaign. Whatever side of the coin you're on, this should prove to be an interesting story. "Game Change" will premiere in March on HBO.

Teaser Trailer for Game Change Starring Ed Harris as John McCain and Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin

21 December 2011 4:24 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

HBO has released their first teaser trailer for Game Change, a telepic about John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign.  It is a well-structured 52 seconds.  First, Ed Harris looks just like McCain when you stick a hairpiece on him.  A speech by Woody Harrelson (playing McCain's advisor Steve Schmidt) builds nicely to the big reveal of Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin.  Plenty have tried on a Palin impression in the last couple years.  Is it any surprise that Moore's, in just one sentence, sounds good enough to sustain a feature-length character arc? Ron Livingston, Sarah Paulson, Peter MacNicol, Justin Gaston, Larry Sullivan, Jamey Sheridan, and Melissa Farman also star.  Game Change was directed by Jay Roach and written by Danny Strong, who previously collaborated on the HBO movie Recount, which centered on the 2000 election.  Game Change will premiere in March 2012.  Watch the trailer after the break. Game Change Preview: Julianne Moore Steps into Sarah Palin's Shoes

Game Change Preview: Julianne Moore Steps into Sarah Palin's Shoes

The book Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime was released in early 2010. Written by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, Game Change chronicled the 2008 presidential campaign. While the book focuses on the race as a whole, sections of it deal with the introduction of Sarah Palin as Republican candidate John McCain's running-mate.

HBO has chosen to make a TV movie out of Game Change, but the movie will heavily focus on the McCain-Palin campaign.  Ed Harris plays Arizona Senator and candidate John McCain, while Woody Harrelson plays his adviser Steve Schmidt.

Oscar winner Julianne Moore steps into the role of Sarah Palin in the film and she proves that Tina Fey isn't the only woman who can play a convincing version of the former vice presidential candidate.
