2.3 Telemon
Ariadne, it seems, has finally risen in stature to the role of Queen, beloved by her people. With the Coronation Games only a few days away, Ariadne must choose a champion whilst she hides her love for Jason and her intent to hunt down Pasiphae.
With Jason selected as her champion, Hercules' secret is making him an angry man, much to the disapproval of Pythagoras. With the secret now shared, and Hercules reinforcing their position as protectors of the secret and of Jason's destiny, Hercules sets out to train Jason and they come across Telemon, another warrior intent on winning the games.
Pythagoras doesn't trust Telemon, though Hercules thinks differently. It's made even more suspect when Telemon is revealed to be a prince, just what...

Apparently the first Monday after Sundance is going to be a relatively slow one. That is, unless you are a TV journalist.
First, Variety is reporting that Sam Mendes will be producing a new TV series entitled Grand Hotel. An eight-episode series penned by Richard McBrien and Virginie Brac, the story will follow “the guests and staff of a ritzy international hotel in Paris who are suddenly taken hostage. Held captive in the lap of luxury, they try to find out why they’re being held prisoner, and plan to escape.” Mendes is not set to direct any episodes that this point, as he’ll be quite busy on the upcoming Bond 23, but with no start date set in stone yet, that may ultimately change.

Sam Mendes ("Revolutionary Road," "American Beauty"), BBC Worldwide and Canal Plus will team to produce the eight-episode TV drama series "Grand Hotel" says Variety.
The story revolves around the guests and staff of a ritzy international hotel in Paris who are suddenly taken hostage. Held captive in the lap of luxury, they try to find out why they're being held prisoner, and plan to escape.
Richard McBrien ("Wallander, "Spooks") and Virginie Brac ("Spiral") are penning the scripts. Mendes will produce but not direct.
Canal Plus is also behind three big international series, each twelve episodes long, currently in the works. One is the $35 million "Borgia" which Tom Fontana ("Oz," "The Philanthropist") is show running while Oliver Hirschbiegel ("Downfall") directs the first four episodes. Despite the title, it is not to be confused with the upcoming Showtime series "The Borgias".
Also in production is the ancient Egypt epic "Pharaoh" from "Rome" creator John Milius,...

Call it "Prison Break" set inside a swanky hotel, but we have to admit we're curious about this one thanks to the talent aboard. Variety reports that director Sam Mendes is set to produce "Grand Hotel" (not to worry, classic film buffs, it's not a remake of the John Barrymore/Greta Garbo pic) along with Canal Plus and BBC Worldwide. The eight-episode series, with installments written by Richard McBrien ("Wallander," "Spooks") and Virginie Brac ("Spiral"), will center on "the guests and staff of a ritzy international hotel in Paris who are suddenly taken hostage. Quick one here, but Summit, in the not-so-long stretch before Twilight expires in the rosy two-fisted film fan-gasm that (might) be Breaking Dawn, is coming up with new projects. One is said to be Riptide, a sort of closed door mystery that takes place on a ship called the Nautica. Three people are involved or, as it were, victimized: "a handyman, a young stock broker, and the stock broker’s girlfriend. One of the men is found dead floating in the sea. The girlfriend is found at a nearby hotel. An investigator is called in to figure out what happened and why." That's from Pajiba, and the site says that the interesting part isn't that Peter "Frost/Nixon" Morgan has rewritten Richard McBrien's script, but that offers are out to Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf for the lead male roles. Are they going to bite? Quite possibly not. That's...

According to Pajiba.com, producers of new thriller mystery "Riptide" have offers out to Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf to play the leads.
The whodunit has had a polish from the brilliant Peter Morgan, who has penned the likes of The Last King of Scotland, The Queen and Frost/Nixon. The original script comes from Richard McBrian (Spooks).
While there's no confirmation of who'll play whom, Pajiba speculates that Pitt is being chased for the role of an investigator called to a ship called the Nautica when a body is found floating in the sea. Labeouf, they say, is wanted for the role of a young stockbroker (again, really?) who has taken the boat out with his girlfriend. A fourth character, a handyman, sounds like he could be the victim.

The producers of watery whodunit Riptide would appear to be reaching for the stars in terms of casting. Or at least, reaching for the Big Book of Star Names What People Have Heard Of. According to Pajiba, offers for the boat-set thriller are out to Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf.Boasting a script originated by Spooks scribe Richard McBrien, but recently given a thorough polish by The Queen’s Peter Morgan, Riptide follows the mystery of what happens to a group of people aboard a ship called the Nautica. A handyman, a young stock broker and the financial guru’s girlfriend are all involved in an incident that leaves one of the men dead and the woman relocated to a hotel nearby. Cue the theme music to Poirot/Miss Marple etc and an investigator arriving on board to untangle the various stories as to what actually happened.Little is known...

Summit Entertainment is developing a new project "Riptide" and eying big stars to play in it. Pajiba reports that Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf are offered different roles in the movie, though there is no guarantee that they will accept them. If the deals are sealed, Pitt will possibly be seen playing a role of an investigator, while Labeouf could take another lead role of a young broker.

Screenwriter Peter Morgan has enjoyed some great success over the past few years, earning Oscar nominations for The Queen and Frost/Nixon, as well as penning critically-acclaimed efforts such as The Last King of Scotland and The Damned United. He also wrote the script for Clint Eastwood‘s thriller Hereafter, which will be released in October of this year.
With all of those notable films under his belt, I am eager to hear about any project that has his name on it, and Pajiba is reporting that he was recently asked to perform an extensive re-write on a “whodunnit” titled Riptide, originally scribed by British writer Richard McBrien. Steve Tisch (Forrest Gump) and William Davies (How to Train Your Dragon) have signed on to produce.

So here's your plot setup: a handyman, a young stock broker and the broker's girlfriend are on a boat, and one of the men is found floating dead in the sea. If the stockbroker role has been offered to Shia Labeouf, is there any possible scenario in which the broker is the one found dead? Yeah, I thought not. I'm not sure why Pajiba is trying to the keep the very obvious plot under wraps in their news report, but it's the only fishy part of what is sounding like a genuinely good idea. According to their sources Summit is developing Peter Morgan and Richard McBrien's original script Riptide, which becomes a whodunit when an investigator is brought in to figure out what happened on that boat. Apparently not only has Labeouf been offered the broker role (a really obvious choice given his role in Wall Street 2), but...

Escape Artists Oscar winning producer, Steve Tisch (Forrest Gump, The Pursuit of Happyness) is producing, along with Will Davies (How to Train Your Dragon).
The script comes from a rewrite by Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen) of an original script by Richard McBrien, a British writer responsible for several episodes of "Mi-5."
The Interesting Part: Offers are currently out to Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf. Presumably, Pitt's offer is for the investigator, while Labeouf's is for the young broker. They are offers only, and there is no guarantee that they will accept them.
