With CBS leading in viewers by the widest margin of any network in 23 years, the network has little need to refresh its line-up this year - especially with last season's successes like "2 Broke Girls" and "Persons of Interest" adding to a solid run of hits in recent years.
Yet it's not resting on its laurels, ordering six new shows and shifting four existing shows around the schedule to shore up its weak points, in the process teaming its two biggest comedies "Big Bang Theory" and "Two and a Half Men" on the one night.
Several other pilots didn't make the final cut and won't be seen include cop drama "The Widow Detective", various comedies about twenty »

The eyeball network is enjoying a commanding lead against its competitors, finishing the regular '12 season as the country's most-watched television network for the ninth time in the past 10 years.
However, one long-running show won't be coming back next fall: CSI Miami, the first spinoff from Jerry Bruckheimer's massive crime drama franchise, got its walking papers two weeks back.
Among the new series that CBS is launching this fall are:
Jonny Lee Miller (Dark Shadows, Hackers) stars as detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson in a modern-day drama about a crime-solving duo that cracks the NYPD’s most impossible cases. As you might imagine, studios are combing their libraries to find related items to reissue to tie in with the frenzy surrounding the May 3 opening of The Avengers. Coming Tuesday are two more discs that come closest to the feature film, a sextet of Marvel Animation films in two sets. Making their Blu-ray debut, the first set is Ultimate Avengers Movie Collection which contains the two animated films based on the successful Ultimates comic, along with the bonus film Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow. The other Blu-ray set is merely dubbed Marvel Animated Features and contains Planet Hulk, Invincible Iron Man, and Doctor Strange.
Both Ultimate films pretty closely follow the initial Ultimates arcs from Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch although the script is better at aping Millar than the animation is following Hitch’s naturalistic style. A significant change is that Tony Stark’s identity remains a secret and »

Disney has released this fun new trailer for Marvel Animation's upcoming series Ultimate Spider-Man. The new promo trailer is actually pretty awesome and gives us sense of how cool this series might be. It's going to have a lot of great action mixed with some crazy humor. This is one of those series I'm going to enjoy watching with my kids. There's a fun little surprise in the trailer showing Spider-Man wearing an Iron Man type suit, while fighting Iron Man.
Ultimate Spider-Man is set to debut on Disney Xd on April 1st, 2012. I really hope you enjoy the trailer below as much as I did. One of the things I like about what I see is how off the wall and different it is. From this trailer, what do you think the show's strengths and weaknesses are?
The series’ creative team includes a few names you might be familiar »

Contraband, 2012.
Directed by Baltasar Kormákur.
Starring Mark Wahlberg, Caleb Landry Jones, Giovanni Ribisi, Lukas Haas, Ben Foster and Kate Beckinsale.
Synopsis:
Mark Wahlberg is Chris Farraday, an expert in the field of smuggling, who left the profession for the sake of his family, but finds himself pulled back in by his brother-in-law Andy (Caleb Landry Jones) when Andy screws-up a job for drug-dealer and smuggler Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi).
Following The Departed and The Fighter, Mark Wahlberg had begun to establish a much-more respectable and credible career as a lead actor - especially considering those films were alongside his successful comedy straight-guy roles in The Other Guys and Date Night. A far cry from Max Payne and The Happening. Unfortunately, Contraband seems to fall into the 'generic action film' category. It is convoluted and seems to try too hard in gaining your interest and attention. Everything seems to be at »
