Im Global Television, David Goyer sign first-look pact

The parties have agreed to an exclusive two-year first-look TV deal that sees Goyer already on board as executive producer on previously announced I, Rebel as well as Golden State.

I, Rebel is a sci-fi series created by Dana and Siavash Farahani about a lost astronaut who returns to Earth after eight years and leads a rebellion against humanoid alien masters.

Jane Fleming and Mark Ordesky will also serve as executive producers, while Goyer’s Phantom Four president Kevin Turen will produce.

Golden State (working title) is also in development with Goyer and is a seasonal anthology series that tells the story of the Los Angeles Police Department over 150 years from the 1850’s culminating with the La Riots in 1992.

Jake Lee Hanne is set to write the series, with Turen and Linne Radmin of the Radmin Company attached to produce.

Lost In Space” could making its way back to the screen, as sources tell Variety that Netflix is developing a reboot of the 1965 CBS classic with plans for a straight-to-series order. Though Netflix declined to comment, the new potential series hails from writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless who will exec produce with Kevin Burns, Neil Marshall and Marc Helwig. First reported by Deadline, the Netflix project is not the first go at a “Lost In Space” television remake, as the WB produced a pilot in 2003, which was never picked up to series.

Premiere Dates:

The Prancing Elites Project” Season 2 will premiere on Oxygen on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 8:00 p.m. For its sophomore season, the docuseries has expanded to hourlong episodes. Prior to the Season 2 premiere, a sneak peek at the new episodes will air during the cabler’s “Friendsgiving” marathon on Thanksgiving day.

Lotus Entertainment has boarded finance, production and international sales on Kirsten Sheridan’s Amy Winehouse biopic, revealed by Screen this morning.

Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) is currently in talks to star in the biopic, which according to the production will “celebrate” the life of the iconic singer.

Johnny Depp’s production company Infinitum Nihil is teaming with Richard Branson’s Virgin Produced and City Entertainment to develop a series based on the music documentary “Muscle Shoals.”

The Grammy-nominated doc celebrates Rick Hall, the founder of Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Ala., and the signature sound he developed in songs such as “I’ll Take You There,” “Brown Sugar,” and “When a Man Loves a Woman.” The TV drama will go behind the music to tell the stories of Muscle Shoals that birthed the iconic “Muscle Shoals Sound” by exploring the rich and vast milieu of the segregated South through colorful characters, cultural and political history and Southern gothic settings.

Amazon Plans New Drama Based On Scandinavian Mystery Book Series

Amazon Studios is looking to some Scandinavian fiction as inspiration for its next original series. Deadline learned that an untitled new show is in development at Amazon based on the popular mystery book series The Boy in the Suitcase by Lene Kaaberbol and Agnete Friis.

The Boy in the Suitcase book series tells the story of Nina Borg, a nurse whose friend Karin tips her off that a naked and drugged little boy is in a suitcase in the Copenhagen train station. After Karin disappears and is later found murdered, Borg begins a dangerous journey across Denmark to find out who the young boy is and who exactly is trying to track him down.

Kirsten Sheridan (writer of the film In America) will pen the script for Amazon’s unnamed Boy in the Suitcase adaptation. City Entertainment’s Joshua Maurer and Alixandre Witlin will executive produce.

The series premiere of Adult Swim's latest live-action original comedy series "Black Jesus" pulled a healthy 0.9 ratings and a little over 2 million viewers at 11pm on Thursday night.

Its live-plus-same-day showings topped all original competition on cable for the day along with several broadcast series including "The Quest," "Rookie Blue" and "Gang Related". The show also topped the entire day of men 18 to 49 across basic cable. [Source: The Live Feed]

Carole Bouquet and Christina Cole to Help NBC Deliver Rosemary's Baby

With NBC's reimagined "Rosemary's Baby" being set in Paris, it only makes sense they'd hire a few French actors, and first to be named is the César-winning former Bond girl Carole Bouquet. UK-born Christina Cole has also signed on to the project.

Per Deadline, Bouquet (pictured right and below left) has been cast as Margaux Castevet, a sophisticated and beautiful Parisian socialite who befriends young Rosemary, and Cole (pictured below right) will play Julie, Rosemary’s spirited girlfriend.

Bouquet, who won a Best Actress César (the French Oscar) for Trop belle pour toi (1989) is probably best known here in the States as Bond girl Melina Havelock in For Your Eyes Only (1981). Coincidentally, Cole appeared in Casino Royale (2006) as well as the upcoming Jupiter Ascending.

A few days ago we learned that Zoe Saldana will be filling Mia Farrow's shoes for NBC's miniseries version of "Rosemary's Baby," and today we've found out who's playing both her husband and the leader of the coven that's so interested in her. Read on for the details.

Per Deadline, Patrick J. Adams (pictured right; "Suits") has been set as the male lead, Guy (played by John Cassavetes in Roman Polanski’s 1968 feature adaptation), opposite Saldana in the four-hour miniseries, an adaptation of the 1967 best-selling suspense novel by Ira Levin.

Jason Isaacs (pictured below; "Awake") has also joined the production, which is being directed by Agnieska Holland (In Darkness, "Treme"). Isaacs will play warlock/coven-leader Roman Castevet, a role played by Sidney Blackmer in Polanski’s version.
