Erik Matti's Rigodon, unlike the many infidelity films that have plagued local theaters in the Philippines, eschews glamour for grit. Its sex scenes do not have the luscious lighting or the saccharine scoring of the various romantic sequences of its more audience-friendly kin. Instead, the sex is sweaty, raunchy, awkward, and set in either the most ordinary or uncomfortable of locations. Still reeling from a failed relationship, Sarah (Yam Concepcion) is desperate for a boyfriend who would both please her and her overbearing father. She meets Riki (John James Uy), a reality show contestant who can never seem to convert his erstwhile exposure to bankable fame, in a party. The two hit it off, developing a relationship that sates both Sarah's needs and Riki's desire »
Twitch first got wind of Erik Matti's Otj (On The Job) all the way back in January of 2010. Known as Ojt at the time, it has been in development ever since with the script being polished and a lengthy hunt for the money to make the full feature undertaken. That hunt has been successful and Matti is now deep »

Veteran Filipino director Erik Matti (Gagamboy, Pa-Siyam, Exodus) makes a welcome return to the genre fare where he first made his name with the upcoming Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles. An action-horror film with some comedy elements, Tiktik was shot entirely in a green screen studio with Matti and his partners launching their own post production house to bring their vision of local folklore to the big screen in a way that could live up to their standards. For the unfamiliar an aswang is a type of creature from Filipino folklore, a beast that can look very nearly human but loves to feed on human entrails and - even better - babies. One of these coming after your unborn child would be bad enough. Matti's story pits »
What? You guys don't know what a friggin' Aswang is? Let's put it this way... this breed of vampire doesn't brood, doesn't dress in hip clothing, and they certainly don't sparkle. Read on for the first details on Tiktik The Aswang Chronicles!
This new Filipino film from director Erik Matti stars Dingdong Dantes, Lovi Poe, Joey Marquez, Janice De Belen, Ramon Bautista, Roi Vinzon, Lj Reyes, Mike Gayoso and Rina Reyes, and will be released in the Philippines on October 17th, 2012.
Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles is the first feature-length Filipino movie entirely shot on green screen. Only the houses and vehicles are real. All the backgrounds, including trees, mountains and creatures were laboriously and painstakingly realized using the latest computer technology. It honors the genre’s traditions without taking itself too seriously as it combines honest-to-goodness scares with irreverent Pinoy wit and humor.
