Additional Details

Other Works:
Appeared as himself (also known to Minnie Bannister and Henry Crun as "The Master") in the BBC radio programme "The Goon Show", Series 8, #25, "The Evils of Bushey Spon". The story was based on a real-life argument Matthews had had with his local council after a decision to place a lamp post outside his Bushey home. The section at the end of the show, in which Matthews appears, is unscripted because he would not stick to a script. In the event, he did not even stick to the plot. more
