22 September 2017 10:07 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

With the next “super season” set to commence in just under three weeks, it’s only understandable that The CW pulls out all the stops in order to assure that viewers come back for another helping. And usually when we’re that close to any specific episode airing, synopses are bound to surface online, effectively bringing some minor spoilers along with them. In this case, that rule applies to fan favorites Supergirl and The Flash.

First, let’s talk about Supergirl, since that particular show will be the first from the Arrowverse to make its fall debut. In “Girl of Steel,” we’ll see the titular heroine face the existential crisis we’ve been expecting ever since the first footage from season 3 was shown at San Diego Comic-Con back in July. Still, we don’t expect her to be down in the dumps for too long since more recent promos »

With exactly three weeks to go until the season four premiere of The Flash, The CW has released an extended trailer for the superhero series along with a batch of images from its first episode; take a look below…

Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy C.S.I. in the Central City Police Department.  Barry’s life changed forever when the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark-matter lightning storm that struck Barry, bestowing him with super-speed and making him the fastest man alive The Flash.  But when Barry used his extraordinary abilities to travel back in time and save his mother’s life, he inadvertently created an alternate timeline known as Flashpoint; a phenomenon that gave birth to the villainous speed god known as Savitar, and changed the lives of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Wally West (Keiyan Lonsdale) forever.  With »

A bearded Barry Allen in first official image from The Flash season 4

Following a promo for The Flash [watch it here], Entertainment Weekly has debuted the first official image from the upcoming fourth season of The CW’s DC superhero show featuring Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen; check it out here…

Speaking with EW, Gustin discussed how Barry is feeling following his escape from the Speed Force: “Initially, Barry is pretty scrambled when he comes out of the Speed Force. He’s not himself, he’s talking nonsense. The way I see it, when he was in the Speed Force, he experienced his whole life laid out in front of him from start to finish. So in some sense, he comes out very wise, kind of knowing everything, but he has no understanding of what he’s seen, so he comes out very jumbled and talking what he thinks makes complete sense, but just nonsense to the rest of the crew.”

Review: Flash: The Complete Third Season

5 September 2017 1:45 PM, PDT | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

After two seasons of relentlessly grim Arrow, we all welcomed Flash with open arms, rejoicing in its optimism and joy. Sure, there were some quibbles and wobbles, but it was still eminently entertaining with an appealing cast.

Then came season three. I do not understand DC’s fixation with Flashpoint, a miniseries that really doesn’t hold up to examination and was not only the cornerstone for this misfire of a season but will also be felt in the first Flash feature film. The repercussions of Barry’s rash decision at the end of season two, to race back in time and save his mother’s life, had substantial impact on his life and those of others in his world. Then, when he tried to fix it, other changes happened and he spent most of the season moping.

The Flash reborn with new season 4 costume, Elongated Man cast

1 August 2017 1:50 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The Flash will be reborn this October when Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen emerges from the Speed Force for the fourth season of The CW’s hit DC superhero show, and Gustin has been chatting to EW about this ‘rebirth’ and how his character has been affected between seasons.

“The way I see it is, time is non-linear and everything is happening at once in the Speed Force. In someways he’s had an awakening and he’s had a rebirth. Our first episode is called ‘Reborn,’ and it is a rebirth for Barry, but he’s kind of scrambled, too, because he’s experienced so much so quick over the course of six months, even though for him it was an eternity. He’s not Barry when we see him for the first time.”

Grant Gustin says Crisis on Infinite Earths adaptation is a goal of the TV series

29 July 2017 2:03 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The CW’s hit superhero series The Flash has already adapted one major DC comic book story arc with a take on Flashpoint, and according to Grant Gustin, it’s a goal of the show to take on the biggest DC event of all – Crisis on Infinite Earths.

“We don’t really talk about it on a yearly basis but it was mentioned early on and that’s a goal,” Gustin told Comic Book during an appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con. “Obviously we’d have to go I think ten years to reach that, so there’s a possibility for sure. It’ll be fun to get there.”
