- Briefly married before 1920. In 1921 he married Katherine Seaman, and they had two children, Ann (b. 1923) and John (b. 1926). Tragically, Katherine Marin was killed in an automobile accident on August 31, 1934 when a car driven by her friend Belle Stebbins collided head-on with a truck on a rural highway 20 miles north of Bakersfield, California. Belle Stebbins, wife of agent Arthur Stebbins, was killed, along with their daughter Lile Belle (11) and son Jerry (14). Ann Marin, 12 at the time, was the only survivor, but suffered critical head and brain injuries.
