Okay, now they're just screwing with us. That's the only explanation for the way we get our first look at The Thing. You've got one of the main characters in a highly anticipated comic book summer movie, and you're carefully protecting the reveal of the character. So of course, you post outdoor billboards with the character before you release any official imagery, and you let your first worldwide media moment be courtesy of Some Random Dude on Instagram. Really? I'm doubly confused by the image itself. What the hell is going on with Kate Mara's head? Was she unavailable for the publicity shoot so you had to build a head out of ten different photos of her? I like that Miles Teller's superpower appears to be "being Miles Teller" so far. But I can't honestly tell you what my reaction to The Thing is because that's such a »

Creative multitasker James Franco always has a toe in academics, and Wednesday evening will see the premiere screening of a feature film he led UCLA graduate students in producing. “The Heyday of the Insensitive Bastards” plays Atlanta’s Rialto Center for The Arts, part of the Atlanta Film Festival, and TheWrap has an exclusive first look. The film is based on Robert Boswell’s short story collection and was executed by eight teams of Mfa students in a UCLA master class taught by Franco in 2012. A star-studded cast populates seven vignettes, with actors including Franco, Natalie Portman, Kristen Wiig, Matthew Modine, »

The new Fantastic Four poster gave us our best look at the team yet. Johnny’s on fire, Sue is disappearing, and the big bad rocks of The Thing were on full display. However, we only saw them from behind. Common sense (and the trailer) tell us what Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan and Kate Mara […]

Though a myriad of stills and even the film’s first trailer have already blasted onto the Internet, we’ve yet to get up close and personal with the Fantastic Four in all of their glory. The aforementioned sizzle reel, for instance, doubled down on the group’s origins story, which will send Marvel’s First Family careering into an alternate dimension – a realm where they will receive their otherworldly abilities.
Speaking of which, today an international banner has been doing the rounds that just so happens to showcase the best look at Jamie Bell’s rendition of The Thing to date. Granted, it’s not exactly the clearest of stills, but it does give fans a good indication of Ben Grimm’s rock-strewn appearance following the team’s space-faring trip.
Taking many cues from the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic arc, it’s understood that Trank’s reboot will place »

While we did get a pretty clear look at Ben Grimm’s (Jamie Bell) “transformation cocoon” in the Fantastic Four trailer, we’ve yet to get a good view of his face as The Thing - until now. A Fantastic Four fan (via ComingSoon) snapped a photo of himself in front of a new international banner for the film and it features a dead-on shot of The Thing alongside Mr. Fantastic (Miles Teller), Invisible Girl (Kate Mara) and Human Torch (Michael B. Jordan). It’s not a high-res shot so we can’t pick apart the details but yeah, that’s The Thing right there. Hopefully he’ll look a little more natural when he isn’t crudely Photoshopped in between the other characters. You can check out the Fantastic Four banner for yourself below. The film is due in theaters on August 7th and also stars Toby Kebbell and Tim Blake Nelson. »

This probably isn't how 20th Century Fox wanted this to go! While they've tried to keep a lock on our first true reveal of The Thing in their upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, an early production photo gave us a look at what Jamie Bell's transformation will sort-of look like with a motion capture puppet that was being used on set. Now, an Instagram user has given us our first full look at The Thing courtesy of an international banner spotted out in the wild.
As you can see, Ben Grimm's transformation into The Thing isn't much different than it was in the original 2005 Fantastic Four movie. Like that franchise killer, this, too, will be an origin story. It is said to be inspired by the Ultimate Fantastic Four Marvel comic book series. It will be a contemporary re-imagining of the superhero family, which is one of Marvel's longest running titles. »
Following yesterday's new poster for Fantastic Four, which showed a vague display of powers from the quartet of Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell, we have a new look at the team, but this one reveals a bit more. While the teaser trailer and even yesterday's poster have obscured our look at The Thing from any angle other than behind is naked stone body, an international banner has gone up that gives us our first good lock at the clobbering hero from the front. And he looks...exactly like you'd expect him to look. Hopefully he's less of a punchline than the one Michael Chiklis played before. Look! Here's the international banner for Fantastic Four from Instagram (via Superhero Hype): You can also watch the first teaser trailer for Trank's Fantastic Four right here. Fantastic Four is directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle) and written by »

There's a reason studios should stop trying to hide elements of their films from the online audience, and it's because the first look fans get at something you've been trying to hide should not be in the form of a washed out Instagram picture (via albertoheineken26), but that's the case when it comes to The Thing from Josh Trank's upcoming The Fantastic Four reboot as you can see below. What you can't tell is the human form of the giant rock man is played by Jamie Bell in the movie. Unlike the version played by Michael Chiklis in the previous attempts to bring the superhero family to life, this will be an all-cg creation and, I assume, more akin to the Hulk from The Avengers than the foam rubber character Chiklis played. I have to assume 20th Century Fox will try and release an official picture soon enough, but »

Time to get your nerd on! Here are a few big stories currently zooming through the online geekverse. Check Out The New Fantastic Four Poster "Change Is Coming"... or so says the newest poster for this summer's Fantastic Four, due out on August 7. The poster gives off a bit of an ominous vibe for our four heroes, Mr. Fantastic (Miles Teller), Sue Storm (Kate Mara), Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan) and The Thing (Jamie Bell). The reboot, which will take a more dark and gritty David Cronenberg-esque scientific approach to the popular Marvel comic, is choosing not to reveal too much too soon, though fans will be happy to know that those classic Fantastic Four costumes will indeed appear in the movie, according to Teller. Tell us, what do you think of the design for The Thing? Sound off in the comments below.
The Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Directed by Josh Trank, Fantastic Four is set to hit theaters on August 7. It stars Miles Teller (Whiplash) as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara (House of Cards) as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, »

Having released the first trailer for Fantastic Four way back in January, things seemed to have quietened down for Josh Trank’s reboot. Eager to see a new big-screen adaptation of the classic Marvel team, I’m happy to report that a new poster has been released.
Well, I say new, we’ve seen it briefly before; it’s the final shot from the trailer, with the titular quartet observing an ominous-looking structure in a barren landscape. With the Chronicle director taking the reigns, this new iteration appears to be much darker and grittier in tone than the 2005 version; great news for us, though probably bad news for our heroes.
The poster also shows the group wearing costumes of sorts, though not the familiar sight of their classic outfits. Whilst it makes sense considering the film’s style, I could understand fans being disappointed but worry not! If last week »

An Instagram user posted a picture of himself standing in front of a new Fantastic Four billboard which reveals a new group shot of the team as well as fully revealing the appearance of Jamie Bell's Ben Grimm in his rocky Thing form. The billboard appears to be in Portuguese. Per earlier reports, Jamie Bell's "Thing" will primarily be CGI and will be motion captured by Jamie Bell. The billboard also reveals new looks at the cast, as well as Johnny and Sue Storm displaying their powers. Perhaps this week's poster release yesterday is a sign that a new trailer is on the way which will showcase the team in action. Fox's FANT4STIC is slated for release on August 7th and stars Miles Teller, Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Toby Kebbell. »
Fox and director Josh Trank's reboot of the Fantastic Four is the last comic book movie on the summer schedule this year, and it's arguably the riskiest one. Not on paper: Marvel's First Family has long been ripe for cinematic exploration. Rather that the reboot, if stories of the plot prove to be correct, is taking a couple of gambles with the origins of the characters.
What we do know is that the new Four are Miles Teller, Jamie Bell, Kate Mara and Michael B Jordan. And you get to see the Photoshopped backs of each and every one of them in this new poster for the movie. 'Change is coming' teases the poster. We wonder if a new trailer is as well.
The first trailer certainly seemed »
When four people teleport to an alternate universe, which alters their physical form and gains them new abilities, they must learn to harness their abilities and work together as a team to save the Earth from a familiar enemy. The reboot stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, Reg E. Cathey, and Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder. “Fantastic Four” hits theaters everywhere on August 7, 2015.

Fans finally got their first good look at 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four when the trailer debuted back in January. While it remains unclear when the next trailer will debut, the studio has released a new poster, featuring stars Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic), Michael B. Jordan (The Human Torch), Kate Mara (The Invisible Girl) and Jamie Bell (The Thing), along with the tagline "Change is Coming." While we don't get to see Mr. Fantastic's unique stretching abilities on display, the poster does show The Human Torch's fiery hands and even shows some of The Invisible Girl fading away, along with the monstrous Thing. Perhaps the studio is saving Mr. Fantastic's powers for the next trailer, but we'll have to wait and see.
These four heroes are all seen gazing at the same mysterious portal that was shown briefly in the trailer. There is speculation that this may be a gateway to The Negative Zone, »
You’ll already have seen the first trailer that arrived for Fantastic Four in January, with Josh Trank and Simon Kinberg’s new take on the Marvel stalwarts given its first real public bow. We brought you some exclusive images from the movie (lurking lower down the page) and a new poster has just arrived online. Admittedly, this “new” image is really just the final shot of that initial trailer with some writing over it. But it’s intriguing to see the Four – Miles Teller’s Reed Richards, Kate Mara’s Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan’s Johnny Storm and Jamie Bell’s Ben Grimm – in a close approximation of the comic-book costumes, especially as Trank and co. have been clear that this is a more grounded, gritty and realistic (at least as far as you can go with the super science involved) portrayal. The clothing aspect is somewhat confirmed »
