Method Man was born on April 1, 1971 in Richmond [now Staten Island], New York City, New York, USA as Clifford Smith. He is an actor, known for How High (2001), The Fast and the Furious (2001) and 8 Mile (2002).

Used to live in Hempstead, Long Island, before he moved to Staten Island in the late 1980s. He gives a shout-out to his old town on his "Judgement Day" album.
Has two children: a son (b. 1997) and a daughter (b. 1998).
Joined the Nation of Gods & Earths (also known as the Five Percent Nation of Islam) and changed his name to Shaquan God Allah.
