Laurie Main was born on November 29, 1929 in London, England. He is known for his work on Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993), Time After Time (1979) and Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore (1983). He died on February 8, 2012 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Provided the voice of the "story reader" on many Disney Read-Along cassettes and compact discs.
Left Australia, aged 16, and acted in repertory theatre in England. On Broadway from 1959. The following year studied acting with Agnes Moorehead. Guest-starred on numerous TV shows of the 60's and 70's. Best known as host/narrator of Disney's "Welcome to Pooh Corner".
