Marvel Avengers Academy Phone Game Introduces the Multiverse

Have you heard of this game? Marvel Avengers Academy? It's like The Simpson's Tapped Out or Family Guy... something, something. They are those "build a city and watch the people do stuff" games. The same people who made those, made a game called Marvel Avengers Academy. It's like a High School Version of the Avengers and Marvel Properties. Is it cheesy? Yes. Is it freemium? Yes. Is it actual something I enjoy? Absolutely!

Now that I've outed myself as a player of this "waste of time" game, I've got news about their next event. The event revolves around the Multiverse, which has been explored quite a bit recently with the comics. An enemy has arrived from the future known as Maestro, the super-smart evil version of the Hulk. He's brought different versions of Marvel Characters to battle the students of Avengers University including Noir Thor, Future Cap, and Original Bucky.

Beauty and the Beast Breaks Box Office Records with $170M

Beauty and the Beast Breaks Box Office Records with $170M
Last month, box office analysts were predicting that Disney's long-awaited live-action remake of Beauty and the BEast will take in $120 million at the box office, a debut that most studios would be happy with for any film. As we got closer and closer to the release, the projections started to increase, with some predicting it could earn upwards of $150 million, which would still put it just short of the all-time highest March opening, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice's $166.1 million tally last year. It seems Beauty and the Beast has outdone itself, besting all projections for a record-breaking $170 million box office estimate.

Disney itself was downplaying those projections, with their own internal estimates placing their debut at $100 million. Box Office Mojo reports that Beauty and the Beast debuted in 4,210 theaters, earning an impressive $40,380 per-screen average. While this 4,210-theater rollout is certainly large, it ranks as the 29th widest of all time,

Beauty and the Beast on Track to Smash Spring Box Office Records

Beauty and the Beast on Track to Smash Spring Box Office Records
It wasn't too long ago that the month of March wasn't exactly seen as the home to box office juggernauts, but that all changed seven years ago when Disney's Alice in Wonderland opened huge with $116.1 million. Just a few years later, Lionsgate positioned its new franchise The Hunger Games in March, where it opened to the tune of a record-breaking $152.5 million, and last year, that record was broken by Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice's $166.1 million. This year, Disney's Beauty and the Beast could very well vie for that record, but while it will easily come out on top this weekend, we're predicting this live-action fairy tale adaptation will arrive just short of the record, with $139.7 million.

Last month, box office analysts predicted that Beauty and the Beast could open around $120 million, while Disney itself was downplaying those projections, with their own internal estimates placing their debut at $100 million.

J.K. Simmons Gives SpongeBob SquarePants “Whiplash” in New Episode

Of all cartoons on television right now, SpongeBob SquarePants seems to always have the most fun with writing. It’s far and away the most “adult” of all the daytime cartoons that are aimed at children. While it’s not a show the references like a Simpsons or Family Guy, you can tell that the writers are 100% aware that plenty of parents are watching. Plus the amount of innuendos on that show is nearly impossible to count. Looks like the March 4th episode of SpongeBob is really going to get adult on us. J.K. Simmons lends his voice to Maestro Mackerel

The Strain Season 3 Review

Two episodes were provided prior to broadcast.

FX’s The Strain has always straddled the line between new-age action-thriller and midnight-madness guts-and-gore – an unsurprising duality when one considers that macabre maestro Guillermo del Toro and gritty thriller novelist Chuck Hogan collaborated on the source material trilogy – but since early last season, it’s been rapidly giving itself over to the genre trappings of the latter, mostly to its benefit.

As the Master’s reign of terror continues spreading across New York and beyond, The Strain has proven unexpectedly engaging in its slow burn, letting the epidemic of infected strigoi take roost in real time, charting the downfall of civilization in a steady, intriguingly focused way that neither Walking Dead series quite managed.

But even if the story’s progression has unfolded at an established, almost too leisurely pace, the show’s aesthetic has shifted noticeably from bioterrorism-centric science-fiction to full-blooded horror,

Scandal: Will Jake Reunite With Olivia? 'I Think He's Done,' Says Scott Foley

Scandal: Will Jake Reunite With Olivia? 'I Think He's Done,' Says Scott Foley
Having slowed its roll a bit since the uber-frenetic times of, say, Seasons 2 and 3, ABC’s Scandal wrapped the first half of Season 5 with an impressively buzzy hour in which Olivia’s termination of a pregnancy (that we didn’t even know was in play) was not the only big twist.

No, in addition to that conversation-stirring abortion, Olivia proceeded to break things off with Fitz (and thus end her very brief White House residency), while Jake executed a nagging adversary in cold blood and then reunited with Rowan, the orchestrator of many bad things happening to good-ish people.
