Perfect Sense Trailer 3. David Mackenzie‘s Perfect Sense (2011) movie trailer 3 stars Eva Green, Ewan McGregor, Connie Nielsen, Stephen Dillane, and Ewen Bremner. Perfect Sense‘s plot synopsis: “The story of two people who begin to fall in love as the world begins to fall apart.

Susan is a scientist. Michael is a chef. He takes a break from the kitchen heat in the alleyway below her apartment; she smokes a cigarette at the window above. He calls up for a light – the first spark in their passionate affair.

But the world is about to change dramatically. As love turns Susan and Michael’s lives upside down, people across the globe begin to experience strange symptoms, which first affect the emotions then the senses, one by one.

Everything changes. But people laugh, they cry, they eat and drink, they go about their daily business. They adapt, they change, they cope, they »

See and Hear The ‘Perfect Sense’ Theatrical Trailer Featuring Eva Green and Ewan McGregor

13 December 2011 6:00 AM, PST | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

Perfect Sense premiered at Sundance this year and may have slipped under radars, including my own. The IFC film is a personal love story told against a disease-filled end of the world thriller. The beautiful Eva Green and Ewan McGregor fall in love just as an epidemic that causes its victims to lose their senses one by one starts spreading around the world. Contagion meets Blindness plus boy meets girl? How could director David Mackenzie go wrong?

From the looks of the full length theatrical trailer below, he didn’t. Perfect Sense looks like it could be a fantastic film… as long as its two main characters are interesting, of course. We praised the film at Sundance (full review here) for its fitting sappiness and Mackenzie excelling at conveying the sense. You can even read our interview with the director at the link and judge for yourself below.

Perfect Sense hits theaters February 10th, »

This is now the third trailer for David Mackenzie's Perfect Sense, and it's the first that really brings the sci-fi element of a global pandemic to the forefront of the film's narrative. In the film's first trailer, it felt like a background thing while the story primarily focused on the burgeoning love affair between stars Ewan McGregor and Eva Green. The second trailer, a little less so. But now, the enormity of the stakes are clear, yet at the heart of it all is still the love between »

The beginning of the year brought our first look at the IFC Films release of Perfect Sense, a story of love as the human race faces an epidemic with people around the world inexplicably losing their senses one by one. The best films of 2011: Philip French's choice

12 December 2011 3:45 AM, PST | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

It's been a good year for veteran returnees, a bad one for 3D glasses, with a sense of impending doom never far away

There hung over the cinema this past year a sense of loss, of things being eroded, slipping away, disappearing. It could be seen all around us in the closing of shops selling and renting DVDs, the replacement of traditional film by digital technology, the old-fashioned projectionists going the way of saddlers, the demise of the UK Film Council. Prize-winning documentaries on the continuing world economic crisis, the threatened extinction of our planet, the costly futile wars we're engaged in – all provided a factual underpinning to feature films reflecting a widespread anticipation of impending apocalypse.

To name just three examples of the latter: in David Mackenzie's Perfect Sense, the world adjusts painfully to the gradual loss of our sense of taste, smell, hearing, sight; Lars von Trier »

New Perfect Sense Poster Captures an Intimate Moment

7 December 2011 2:00 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

A very different end of the world is imagined in David Mackenzie’s Perfect Sense, one far removed from the meteor storms and solar burps.

Instead it is a slow burning apocalypse for us this time with the gradual diminishing of sensory perception on the cards and in the film, which was out here in the UK in early October after a succesful festival run, we have the human plight captured perfectly with Ewan McGregor and Eva Green falling in love at precisely the wrong moment.

Jamie saw the film for us at the Edinburgh Film Festival earlier in the year and it’s well worth checking out the review, as this one may not have the CG budget equivalent to the Gdp of a small country but it has far more to engage and effect.

Coming Soon ripped this from the walls of the internet and we’ve pasted »

New Images and Posters for ‘The Flowers of War,’ ‘W.E.,’ ‘Casa De Mi Padre,’ and ‘Perfect Sense’

6 December 2011 4:20 PM, PST | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

Some of my hopes for Zhang Yimou‘s The Flowers of War were soured when the film was acquired by the very (very) small Wrekin Hill, an anticlimactic conclusion to a distributor war that hinted at greatness for the war epic. But we must move on, and one good way to do so is bring you new posters and images for the film; the former comes from IMPAwards, the latter MTime (via ThePlaylist).

Other than the generic “floating head” design, I like the somber tone on display here, particularly in the one above. I’m sure the images would work a lot better if they didn’t have extremely obtrusive watermarks on them, but we can probably survive.

Take a look below:

Speaking of mixed messages generated by pre-release buzz, Yahoo! has premiered a new poster for and pictures from Madonna‘s W.E. There is a good cast at hand — one led by Abbie Cornish, »

With the recent pick up of Will Ferrell’s Casa De Mi Padre by Pantelion Films, we can expect to see an influx of marketing material before the film’s March 16 release. Casa De Mi Padre also stars Gael Garcia Bernal (The Motorcycle Diaries) and Genesis Rodriguez (Man on a Ledge). We also have the new one-sheet for director David Mackenzie’s Perfect Sense which stars Ewan McGregor (Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace) and Eva Green (Casino Royale). Wish You Were Here‘s plot synopsis: “Four friends lose themselves in a carefree South-East Asian holiday. Only three come back. Who amongst them knows what happened on that fateful night when they were dancing under a full moon in Cambodia?”

More on Wish You Were Here:

Wish You Were Here…was recently confirmed as an opening film of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival (in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition).

The screenplay was co-written by Darcy-Smith and actress Felicity Price, who also stars in this as Alice.

For some reason, this film reminds me of The Perfect Getaway.
