American Dad!: Season 11 Ratings

27 January 2016 5:06 PM, PST | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

A couple years ago, American Dad! was dropped by Fox and moved to TBS. Well, though the animated sitcom's ratings have come way down, it won't be in any danger of being cancelled for a long time. The cable channel has already been renewed through season 13. Will the execs end up regretting that decision? Stay tuned.

The home of Stan Smith and his family on American Dad! continues to be as unorthodox as ever. The voice cast includes Seth MacFarlane, Wendy Schaal, Scott Grimes, Rachael MacFarlane, and Dee Bradley Baker.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.Read More… »

2015 offered some terrific films for audiences – The Martian, Creed, Straight Outta Compton, Brooklyn and Star Wars: The Force Awakens to name a few. They were huge crowd-pleasers and very successful at the box office. But not every movie connected with audiences this past year, as much as we wanted them to.

Wamg takes a look at the past 12 months and the movies that we really wanted to love, but just couldn’t. Here we go with our Top 10 list of the Most Disappointing Films of 2015.

Dishonorable Mention: Seventh Son

It’s hard to decipher exactly what Jeff Bridges is saying under his accent that sounds like a cross between Gandalf and Bane from The Dark Knight Rises. And that is only one of the many problems with this film. Seventh Son is nothing but hallow, visual clutter that is cobbled together to form something that struggles to appeal to the »

Leonard Nimoy Documentary ‘Highly Illogical’ Starts Crowdfunding Campaign

14 January 2016 12:01 AM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Leonard Nimoy’s daughter Julie Nimoy and husband David Knight are launching a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo about the “Star Trek” star and the disease that led to his death.

The couple is seeking $150,000 to complete production on “Copd: Highly Illogical” — a combination of a tribute to Nimoy and an exploration of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the cause of his passing last year at age 83. They plan to make “Highly Illogical” available free for downloading.

The project already raised $300,000 through corporate sponsors. Premiums in the new campaign include dinner with the Nimoys for $5,000 and an associate producer credit for $10,000.

The movie is aimed at providing information and treatments on Copd from medical experts along with examining how Copd affected Nimoy. The film’s narration is provided by John de Lancie, who starred on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and other spinoff series as the character “Q.”

No Fear: The Year’S Best Movies

9 January 2016 12:46 PM, PST | Trailers from Hell | See recent Trailers from Hell news »

This is definitely the time of year when film critic types (I’m sure you know who I mean) spend an inordinate amount of time leading up to awards season—and it all leads up to awards season, don’t it?—compiling lists and trying to convince anyone who will listen that it was a shitty year at the movies for anyone who liked something other than what they saw and liked. And ‘tis the season, or at least ‘thas (?) been in the recent past, for that most beloved of academic parlor games, bemoaning the death of cinema, which, if the sackcloth-and-ashes-clad among us are to be believed, is an increasingly detached and irrelevant art form in the process of being smothered under the wet, steaming blanket of American blockbuster-it is. And it’s going all malnourished from the siphoning off of all the talent back to TV, which, as everyone knows, »

Interview: Alex Borstein, ‘Family Guy’ Voice of Lois Griffin, on Her New Role in ‘Bordertown’

9 January 2016 11:14 AM, PST | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – Voiceover artist Alex Borstein is familiar to TV audiences as the legendary Lois Griffin of “Family Guy,” but she also is a stellar character actress, recently in a role on the HBO series “Getting On.” She is back in the animation saddle with a couple of voiceover parts in the new Fox Network show ‘Bordertown.’

Bordertown” is created by Mark Hentemann and is produced by Seth MacFarlane, the creator of “Family Guy.” It involves the Buckwald and Gonzalez families in a Southwest desert town on the Mexico-u.S. border, and Alex Borstein voices both the Buckwald mother Janice and her hapless daughter Becky. The show is sharp and funny, with the satire that is familiar to Seth MacFarlane animation fans. “Bordertown” premiered on the Fox Network on January 3rd, 2016, and is now on Sunday nights.

Two members of the boy band (wait, when does "man band" become the preferred nomenclature?) One Direction, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, recorded their voices for an upcoming episode of Family Guy called "Run, Chris, Run," EW reports. The episode centers on Chris's campaign for homecoming king and features a campfire scene with Stewie, who tells all four members of the band a scary story involving non-skinny jeans. No word on whether Niall and Harry will be rendered speechless by this story or if they'll be voiced by Seth MacFarlane doing his best Irish and English accents, respectively. Anyway, here's to hoping one of the Family Guys can officially replace Zayn! The episode will air in May. »

Weekly Ratings: Espn Finds the End Zone With College Football, ‘Mnf’ Finale

7 January 2016 5:49 AM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Football dominated last week’s primetime ratings race, with Espn easily winning among the networks thanks to its College Football Playoff semifinals — even if both games tumbled in the event’s second year — and a season-high total-viewer count for the finale of “Monday Night Football.” NBC, meanwhile, stayed on top in demos on the broadcast side as “Sunday Night Football” towered over the field as it ended its season.

According to Nielsen “live plus same-day” estimates for the Dec. 28-Jan. 3 frame, Espn averaged a 2.6 rating in adults 18-49 to easily best NBC (1.8), CBS (1.2), ABC (1.0) and Fox (0.9). The only other network to log a higher weekly average in the past two months has been NBC during Thanksgiving week (3.2), when it aired two primetime NFL contests. NBC, meanwhile, was the top broadcaster in the demo for the 14th time in 15 weeks this television season.

Espn also scored a victory in total viewers, »

The Bachelor Premiere Recap: What’s Ben’s Thing?

5 January 2016 5:27 AM, PST | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

It’s that time of year again, to watch hair extensions on top of Bebe mannequins fall in love with a man with a boring job just because he was emotionally vulnerable on TV once. We are officially back, Bachelor Nation! It’s season 20. Ben “Sexy Seth MacFarlane” Higgins is our Bachelor, and he is looking for a self-esteem boost … er … I mean, love. When Ben was announced as the Bachelor, I wondered what his thing would be. What was his hook?  He was just kinda nice to some kids once, but he wasn’t really a standout on Kaitlyn’s season. He wasn’t a jealous nightmare, so I guess he had that going for him, but I was left wondering: What’s his narrative?Ben thinks he’s unlovable. Ben has low self-esteem, and he’s kissed as many people as he can until one makes him think he’s worthy of something. »
