The first trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s next film, the summer-released Lucky Logan, has just dropped online, along with the film’s official [Stateside] poster. We’re hearing some good things about this film – a welcome return to filmmaking (in terms of directing) from Soderbergh, who threatened to retire a few years back. This looks like so much fun.

The film boasts a huge cast, including Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Seth MacFarlane, Riley Keough, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterson, Dwight Yoakam, Sebastian Stan, Brian Gleeson, Jack Quaid, and Hilary Swank. The official blurb we’ve just received also has the following on he cast notes – ‘introducing Daniel Craig as Joe Bang’.

First Trailer for Steven Soderbergh's New Heist Comedy 'Logan Lucky'

19 hours ago | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"They gotta know what we want 'em to know." Bleecker Street has debuted the first official trailer for the new Steven Soderbergh heist film, titled Logan Lucky. We all thought Soderbergh was done making new movies, but he decided to jump back into the game and bring us another goofy comedy. Channing Tatum and Adam Driver star as brothers who attempt to pull off a heist during a Nascar race in North Carolina. The ensemble cast includes Seth MacFarlane, Riley Keough, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterson, Dwight Yoakam, Sebastian Stan, Brian Gleeson, Jack Quaid, with Hilary Swank, and introducing Daniel Craig as "Joe Bang". Ohh this looks like it's going to be so much fun. I'm loving all the southern accents, the cast is totally nuts, and I can't wait to see if they actually pull off the heist or not. Rock 'n roll. Steven Soderbergh Is Back With Logan Lucky Starring Channing Tatum, Adam Driver And Daniel Craig

Director Steven Soderbergh and the folks from Magic Mike are back at it with the new comedy Logan Lucky.

Starring Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Seth MacFarlane, Riley Keough, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterson, Dwight Yoakam, Sebastian Stan, Brian Gleeson, Jack Quaid, with Hilary Swank and introducing Daniel Craig as Joe Bang, check out the trailer now.

I love the huge cast, especially the retro poster, and can’t wait to see what Soderbergh does with this modern day version of the 1970’s genre – has the feeling of Smokey And The Bandit for this generation.

Coming Distractions: Channing Tatum and Adam Driver pull a Nascar heist in this trailer for Logan Lucky

28 May 2017 4:49 PM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s movies were all basically about how cool and charming A-list Hollywood stars are, but this trailer for his new heist movie Logan Lucky looks almost like a direct rejection of all of that George Clooney style. For starters, it centers on two brothers (played by Channing Tatum and a one-armed Adam Driver) who are planning to rob a Nascar event, the computer whiz is introduced playing Horseshoes with toilet seats, and one member of the crew is played by Seth MacFarlane. But that’s all without even mentioning Daniel Craig’s Joe Bang, the ringer that Tatum and Driver call on to help plan the heist. Craig has spent years playing the effortlessly cool James Bond, but Joe Bang is somehow way cooler than James Bond has ever been, and if Logan Lucky takes off like the Ocean’s series did, he deserves to star »

Channing Tatum, Adam Driver and a Crazed Daniel Craig Team Up in ‘Logan Lucky’ Trailer (Watch)

28 May 2017 3:41 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Steven Soderbergh returns to the big screen with a gaggle of wacky characters in the first trailer for “Logan Lucky.”

That includes Channing Tatum who is reuniting with the director after working with him on “Haywire,” “Side Effects,” and “Magic Mike.” The movie following sibling Jimmy, (Tatum) Mellie (Riley Keough), and Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) who set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the Coca-Cola 600 race.

But to do so, they’re going to need some help. That’s where Joe Bang (Daniel Craig) comes in.

“I am in-car-cer-a-ted,” Craig tells Tatum and Driver. “Yeah, we got a plan to get you out.” Tatum responds.

“You Logans must be a simple-minded as people say,” Craig says later in the trailer.

Judging by the trailer alone, Craig’s manic disposition and loud cackle hint a major departure from the even-keeled James Bond that launched him to stardom.

The all-star ensemble cast also includes Seth MacFarlane, »

Let it be known that Steven Soderbergh has tabled talk of his self-imposed retirement – for now, at least – and is back, back, back in time for Logan Lucky, a Nascar heist drama with a truly star-studded ensemble to match.

Bleecker Street is joining forces with Soderbergh’s Fingerprint Releasing to launch the project and it’s set to screech into theatres later this summer. Though we had a photo from the film find its way online a few months back, it seems that the marketing campaign is about to get underway in earnest now as today brings forth the first trailer, which sees Channing Tatum and Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) suited, booted and up to no good.

The actors will be playing two brothers – Jimmy (Tatum) and Clyde Logan (Driver) – who set about reversing a family curse by executing an elaborate robbery during the famous Coca-Cola 600 race at Charlotte (Nc) Motor Speedway. »

23 May 2017 10:15 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Here’s what seven major studios have on tap during the annual TV market.

CBS Studios Intl.

Big bets are being placed on military dramas “Seal Team,” starring David Boreanaz, and “Valor,” featuring a fresh-faced cast. Summer series “Salvation” also has a military angle (albeit crossed with sci-fi), while both Jeremy Piven’s “Wisdom of the Crowd” and Alan Cumming’s “Instinct” mix crime solving and modern technology. The studio is light on laughs this year, with just one solo-produced comedy: “9Jkl,” based on the life of creator and star Mark Feuerstein.

Disney Media Distribution

Not just one but four new Marvel series will be on display, including the much anticipated “Inhumans” and the youth-skewing “Cloak & Dagger,” “New Warriors” and “Runaways.” And although it’s not based on a comic book, “Grey’s Anatomy” officially becomes a franchise, launching a new as-yet-untitled spinoff. Shonda Rhimes also makes her case with legal drama “For the People,” while »

Upfronts 2017: The Best, Worst, and Weirdest Moments of TV’s Marathon Week

Television’s marathon week in Manhattan came to a close just as the clock struck midnight Friday morning at the CW’s annual private party, which moved to a new location in midtown for 2017. The soirée, per usual, was filled with relieved advertisers and exhausted entertainment execs who could finally celebrate the end of Upfronts.

NBC kicked off the four-day run, followed by Fox, ABC, Turner, CBS, and the CW. Some of the presentations were great, while others could have used some improvement. Fox may want to invest in a new late-night franchise just to have a host to trot out every year at this time. Stephen Colbert, James Corden, Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Kimmel (in absentia) were among the highlights of the CBS, NBC, and ABC gatherings.
