Things have been eerily quiet on the So You Think You Can Dance Twitter front, which has had me a wee bit worried this Twitter thing is a fad or a flash in the pan. I kid, I kid -- Twitter's going to live forever. ..Or at least until the next big internet buzz comes along.
Since our last Twitter Tracker and Translator, only Shanks has been staying active on the Twitter-Verse. But seeing that he's hopping around between the twenty or so movies he seems to be producing, very few of his Tweets have been Sytycd related. Besides that, it's been pretty quiet. Not a peep from Mary Murphy and only a few eloquent tweets from Lil 'C' letting us know why he's not tweeting. Because I know you've all been missing his buccness, here's a little taste of those linguistic charms you've been longing for: "Jus climbed out of a vicious coma!

It’s officially the halfway point of summer this week, as the Major League Baseball All-Star Game is tomorrow at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. The week will feature a number of musical guests, including a rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” care of Sheryl Crow and a performance by David Cook at tonight’s Home Run Derby.
While the actual All-Star Game is perpetually a snoozer even for hardcore fans, the Home Run Derby is always a reason to tune in to Espn. This year’s contestants are an eclectic mix of old saws and newcomers, and since it’s regularly impossible to project just who is going to win (past victors include not-quite-legends like Garret Anderson and Wally Joyner), the only real way to judge who will come out on top is to judge each contestant by his entrance music.
Yes, just like the WWE, just about every player

We have the not so new international trailer for Gamer, the film starring Gerard Butler (300) and Michael C. Hall (Dexter). The international trailer pretty much replicates the domestic trailer, introducing audiences to the basic premise of the film, which explores a future where shoot-em-up video games have become a real-world death sport using live humans whose minds and actions are controlled by “gamers.”
Unfortunately, this international trailer is shorter than the domestic version and offers very little if any new footage. Still, never one to deny you loyal readers, here is the international trailer for Gamer:
You wouldn’t know it from the trailer(s), but Gamer boasts an impressive supporting cast that includes Alison Lohman (Drag Me To Hell), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes), John Leguizamo, Zoe Bell (Death Proof), Keith David, Terry Crews (The Expendables) and Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer). Oh, and Ludacris managed to snag himself a part too,

Larry Fessenden, the modern Roger Corman of the New York area filmmaking scene, visited our East Coast Weekend of Horrors recently with a bunch of the directors whose flicks he’s backing via his Glass Eye Pix company. Fango spoke to them behind the scenes to get the scoop on a trio of upcoming co-productions between Glass Eye and Mpi Media Group; we start with Hypothermia, a creature feature from James Felix McKenney, the man behind The Off Season, Automatons and the upcoming Satan Hates You (which we recently premiered the new trailer for here).
McKenney’s wearing a Creature from the Black Lagoon belt buckle when he visits the convention, and tells us, “Hypothermia is very much inspired by Creature, one of my favorite movies of all time—I’m obsessed with it. People are constantly re-exploring werewolves, vampires, the Frankenstein story—but, you know, the Creature’s the Creature.

Ahh, hangovers. The cruel consequence of a wild night of cleverly-named drinks, strippers, and My Little Ponies. You wake up in a child’s inflatable jump castle and you wonder how a 2-year-old’s birthday party turned into the night of your life. But enough about my weekend…
The latest movie from Old School director Todd Phillips hilariously explores the subject of blackout binge drinking, or as comedian Dave Attell calls it: “time travel.” The Hangover is wall-to-wall jokes and possibly funnier than his other drunken comedy. If laughing until it hurts isn’t your thing, then see this movie so you won’t be as behind as the people still saying “earmuffs” and calling themselves “Frank the Tank.”

Gamer is a high-concept action thriller set in a near future when gaming and entertainment have evolved into a terrifying new hybrid. Humans control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online games: people play people...for keeps. Mind-control technology is widespread, and at the heart of the controversial games is its creator, reclusive billionaire Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall). His latest brainchild, the first-person shooter game "Slayers," allows millions to act out their most savage fantasies online in front of a global audience, using real prisoners as avatars with whom they fight to the death.

There.s been a lot said about the director McG, most of it not too good with some comments so mean you might think they were referring to a war criminal or Levi Johnston, and not a Hollywood director who has shot nothing but hits since he started making movies. I think most of the backlash comes from the fact that he actually uses his nickname as his name when directing. The guy came from music videos where I guess it was cool to be called a nickname based on your name, but this is the big time, big budget films. Even Ludacris and The Rock understand this and go by Chris Bridges and Dwayne Johnson when acting in films.

The writing-directing duo of Neveldine/Taylor made the first Crank, then chugged some more Mountain Dew, logged even more Xbox live hours on Gears of War, and wrote the script for what was supposed to be their second film – Gamer. From first look at its trailer, it looks to be more explosive than the first two Crank films – combined.
In the not-so-distant future, entertainment has become so sophisticated that it uses real human beings in its video games. In a violent multi-player game, “Slayers” like Gerard Butler’s character are restricted by mind-control devices, with their every move delegated by human players. Created by a “reclusive billionaire” played by Michael C. Hall, the game uses death row inmates and allows them freedom if they survive thirty matches.
At one time called Citizen Game, the movie has a pretty full cast with names like John Leguizamo, Kyra Sedgwick, Terry Crews, and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges.

It’s all love in Bucktown, USA. Fabolous didn’t go at Maino. I repeat, Fabolous did not go at Maino. Some fans were wondering if Fab’s line in the song “Hottest in the Hood” was a jab at fellow Brooklynite Maino. Nah — Fab was just trying to get creative, comparing the diamond cuts in his watch to Maino’s famous facial scar. I had a chance to chop it up with Loso on the set of his video “Throw It in the Bag.”
Shout-out to Maino for being the real cat he’s always been and not listening to the instigators, and big-up to Fab for doing what a lot of hip-hop artists out there are either too scared to do or are not talented enough to do: rap. Loso is still coming with it, being creative with his bars and keeping the listeners on their toes. Let

It’s hard to imagine Matthew Goode being funny after his portrayal of Adrian Veidt in “Watchmen,” but Ricky Gervais must see some sort of comedic side to him. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Goode has signed on to play a guy who dates his boss’ daughter in “Cemetery Junction.” The film will focus on a group of employees at the Prudential insurance company in the 70s and the relationship they develop with each other as well as the ones they develop with the woman they fall for. Gervais wrote the script with Stephen Merchant and will be directing the film as well.
The problem most people have with intense action thrillers is that they rely too heavily on bombs, guns and other intense FX, “Gamer” looks like it may have added another element to the genre, some depth. It takes place in the near future where million are hooked

Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's latest piece of madcap action has a new name (from Game to Citizen Game to Gamer), a new poster, and a new trailer. Luckily though, it's still exactly the kind of film you've come to expect from the directing duo. The trailer looks like a pretty tasty mash-up of The Running Man, Death Race, Escape from New York, and Gladiator with a dash of Blade Runner for color. If you've been annoyed at Gerard Butler going all chirpy and chick-flicky lately, this trailer will be a nice dose of neo-Leonidas. He really snarles and smashes through every frame of this -- and he even does so shirtless just to keep the crowd that does like his chick-flicky side happy.
Of course, Butler may be the top name, but he's not the only draw. Michael C. Hall is splendidly slimy here, and you'll get glimpses of Logan Lerman,

A New Trailer has been released for sci-fi action movie Gamer, starring Gerard Butler as a man forced to fight inside a virtual reality game to save himself and free his family.
The project is an original idea from Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who will write and direct the film and were previously involved in the two Crank movies. They also penned the upcoming Wild West comic book adaptation Jonah Hex about a disfigured gunslinger.
Scottish actor Butler (pictured), who played King Leonidas in stylised Spartan war epic 300, has been cast in the role of Kable, the highest-ranked warrior in a game called Slayers.
Also in the movie are Heroes actor Milo Ventimiglia as a character called Rick Rape, Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under, Dexter) as Ken Castle and rapper Ludacris as Humanez Brother.
The synopsis from the official website is as follows: "Gamer is a high-concept action
