Doctor Who Season 10 Trailer: To The Tardis!!

14 March 2017 5:45 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Is it just me, or has it been positive centuries since we've had a new adventure of my favorite time-traveling, face-changing alien Doctor?

Fortunately, the BBC just released a brand new trailer to whet our anticipation of Doctor Who Season 10 (Series 10, if you want to use the British parlance)!

This trailer, naturally, features more footage of brand-new companion Bill (Pearl Mackie), who looks to be really enjoying the whole idea of adventuring throughout time and space.

There's also Nardole (Matt Lucas), who hilariously served as the Doctor's companion (of sorts) in the recent Christmas Special (The Return of Doctor Mysterio) after previously appearing in an earlier Christmas Special (The Husbands of River Song).

While this isn't the first trailer the BBC has released for Doctor Who Series 10, it does pack quite a punch in terms of teasing what's coming this season.

Obviously, Bill is in for quite a ride!

Missy, Mars and a Mondasian Cyberman! Doctor Who Releases New Trailer

13 March 2017 2:58 PM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

A version of this article originally appeared on EW.com.

“This is the gateway to everything that ever was — or ever can be,” says Peter Capaldi’s Time Lord at the start of the just-released new trailer for Doctor Who season 10, Capaldi’s last.

Is he talking about the Tardis? His own brain? One of K-9’s poops? Who knows! Regardless, the Doctor might as well be discussing the trailer itself, which is jam-packed with characters both new and — in the case of the Mondasian Cyberman — very old, at least when it comes to the real-life chronology of the show. »

Peter Capaldi will end his tenure on Doctor Who fighting off the original Cybermen

It was with a degree of sadness (and a small dose of surprise) that we met the news that Peter Capaldi announced he was leaving Doctor Who. The actor’s take on the role has been an uneven affair, though some of the greatest hours of television the show has produced has been with Capaldi in the lead.

We have twelve further episodes of the 13th Doctor to enjoy. Details of the final season for Capaldi (and showrunner Steven Moffat) have been scant thus far. We have Pearl Mackie’s introduction as Bill, our latest companion, and a lingering return for Matt Lucas’s Nardole. Doctor Who series 10 gets a new teaser, spinoff show Class axed

25 February 2017 2:26 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The BBC has unveiled a new teaser for the upcoming 10th series of Doctor Who (the last for both Peter Capaldi and showrunner Steven Moffat), which features the Doctor, his new companion Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie) and the returning Nardole (Matt Lucas). Check it out here…

Meanwhile, in other Who-related news, The Mirror is reporting that the spinoff series Class is being axed after just one series. The show, created by Patrick Ness and revolving around a group of teens at Coal Hill School, launched on iPlayer and pulled in a million viewers for its first episode, which featured a guest appearance from Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor. However, that fell to just 300,000, and none of the eight episodes made it into the top 50 weekly shows viewed on-demand.

Doctor Who series 10 is set to premiere on BBC on April 15th. »

Mike Gold: Up The River Without a Tardis

11 January 2017 5:00 AM, PST | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

If you were to ask me if I had a favorite character among all the heroic fantasy teevee shows and movies over the past five years, and damnit I wish you would, I would immediately respond “River Song.”

For those who came in late, here’s the mandatory Journalism 101 background:

River Song is an ongoing but breathtakingly occasional character in Doctor Who. A remarkably capable, strong and intelligent archaeologist/con artist/warrior-protector with a great sense of humor and about 92% of all the sexuality ever expressed in the 54-year history of the program, she has been, is, and/or will be married to the Doctor – it’s time travel, Mr. Gittes – and that poses all sorts of thrilling opportunities. It also begs the issue of “until regeneration do us part.” She’s kind of a partial Time Lord, having absorbed some of the Doctor’s DNA while being conceived in the Tardis. »
