Nicolas Cage’s “Stolen” used to be called “Medallion”, but perhaps they didn’t want to confuse the film with the Jackie Chan movie from 2003, and changed the title. Either way, it’s a blah title, and the first sales art/poster for the movie is equally blah. It’s Nicolas Cage running from an exploding car. That’s overturned. That’s … pretty much the film’s selling point, I guess. If, you know, you’re a Nicolas Cage fanatic. In “Stolen”, Cage plays an ex-thief who is (of course) pulled back into the business when bad guys kidnap his daughter, stuffs her into the trunk of a taxi, and forces him to pull one last job … or else! Oh, the one last job gag. It’s as eternal as TV shows about cops and doctors and lawyers. Cage co-stars with Josh Lucas, Danny Huston, Mark Valley, Sami Gayle, M.C. Gainey, »

While a definitive release date has yet to be locked down, a poster and a collection of stills have debuted for the new Nicolas Cage thriller "Stolen" (formerly "Medallion," which made it sound like a negligible Jackie Chan movie), with the appropriately Nic Cage-y tagline: "12 hours. $10 million. 1 kidnapped daughter." We're not sure about the math, but we're certainly excited about the movie!
"Stolen" was written by David Guggenheim, who has sold a number of buzzy scripts in the past few months, including this past spring's drab Denzel Washington/Ryan Reynolds actioner "Safe House" and "Narco Sub," about a drug running via submarine that at least has a tenuous attachment from Tony Scott. "Stolen" concerns a former thief (Cage) racing to save his daughter who has been kidnapped and (wait for it) stashed away in the trunk of a taxi cab. Now we're cooking! The film co-stars Malin Akerman, Danny Huston »

Brian De Palma (Scarface, Carrie) is premiering his new erotic thriller "Passion," starring Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace, at the Canes Film Festival later this month. Meanwhile, Simon West (The Expendables 2, Con Air) will be selling his "Stolen" thriller, starring Nicolas Cage, Josh Lucas, Danny Huston and Malin Akerman. Today we have posters and photos for both. Check everything out below. Passion: Isabelle (Rapace) has unlimited admiration for her direct superior, Christine (McAdams), a woman well-schooled in the ways of power. Christine enjoys holding sway over Isabelle, leads her one step at a time and ever more deeply into a game of seduction and manipulation, of dominance and servitude. Stolen: A former thief (Cage) frantically searches for his missing daughter, who has been kidnapped and locked in the trunk of a taxi. It's been a rough road for Mitch MicDeere. Now, it's come to an end -- at least on NBC. The Firm has been cancelled after one season of 22 episodes.
The Firm picks up years after the young attorney (Josh Lucas) made his deal with the mob to take his old crooked law firm down. He and his family have come out of hiding but their problems haven't gone away. The show also stars Molly Parker, Callum Keith Rennie, Juliette Lewis, Natasha Calis, Tricia Helfer, Martin Donovan, Shaun Majumder, and Paulino Nunes.
The series represented one of NBC's biggest launches of the season but it misfired right from the start. The two-hour premiere brought in a dismal 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with just 6.32 million viewers.

Hulk, 2003.
Directed by Ang Lee.
Starring Eric Bana, Jennifer Connelly, Sam Elliott, Nick Nolte, and Josh Lucas.
Synopsis:
An accident results in a scientist turning into a big green monster whenever he gets angry.
The question I'm left pondering once the credits have rolled is - was Ang Lee the right person to direct Hulk? His previous feature film was Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), and he followed Hulk with Brokeback Mountain (2005). Now, I'm not claiming a director can't be versatile, but Ang Lee at the helm of a blockbuster superhero movie? Colour me apprehensive.
I'm not particularly familiar with the Hulk, in either his comic book or his television form, so I have no means of comparison. When it comes to Hulk, too many elements just fell flat for there to be any semblance of enjoyment. To start with, the story is far too long and attempts to spin too many plates. »

Thursday was opening day for Major League Baseball, but not all is cheery for America's pastime. A group of movie investors have filed a lawsuit, claiming they were defrauded out of $565,000 on a film that was to be called Keeper of the Pinstripes, about the New York Yankees and the team's relationship with their old stadium, famously abandoned in 2009. The film purported to star Josh Lucas as Thurman Munson and was to show Yankees legends Munson and Lou Gehrig retreating to Room 107, a mysterious room hidden in the depths of the old stadium where baseball players

D.J. Haza presents the next entry in his series of films to watch before you die...
A Beautiful Mind, 2001.
Directed by Ron Howard.
Starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Paul Bettany, Christopher Plummer and Josh Lucas.
A Beautiful Mind is the stunning story of John Nash (Crowe), a Nobel Laureate in Economics, who struggled with paranoid schizophrenia and delusions that threatened to destroy him and his family. The film is based upon the Pulitzer Prize nominated book of the same name by Sylvia Nasar and tells Nash’s story from his school days until he finally gets a grip on his condition in later life. Both the book and film are based upon Nash’s real life and struggles, but the film does differ to some aspects of reality. It won 4 Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

To celebrate the release of This Must Be The Place, I have listed ten films which share their name with songs. For those who don’t know, This Must Be The Place shares its name with the Talking Heads tune. And even though film and song have little in common, both song and Talking Heads front man David Byrne, appear in the film.
There is a proverbial bottomless pit of films and song which share a title. Some overtly, in reference to each other, whilst many are just tenuous links. My list has been dictated purely by a love of rock music. Bar one disco tune and a classic piece of soul; everything you are about to see is, like the film which inspired this list, connected to the warrior poets of melody. The likes of music based films such as The Wall or Yellow Submarine have been omitted for the sake of originality, »

With over 125 movie and television credits and growing, Mark Isham, has composed some of the great movie scores in the last three decades including Quiz Show (1994), October Sky (1999), Men of Honor (2000) and Crash (2004). They are a minuscule sample of his memorable works. My personal favorite of his library is his potent and emotionally-packed melodies for The Cooler (2003) where you ride Bernie Lootz’s highs when he’s hot and lows when he is the gutter.
One of Isham’s current jobs is composing for ABC’s fantasy series Once Upon a Time. This is the first in a series of interviews BuzzFocus conducted at Wondercon 2012 with film and TV composers. We spoke with Isham about this ongoing challenge for him and how it’s pushed him creatively in new ways as a composer. But first, take a few minutes to listen to Isham’s music for Once Upon a Time. »

Australian box office hit Red Dog could be turned into a stage musical, it has been reported. The film stars Charlie's Angels actress Rachael Taylor and Josh Lucas and tells the story of a roaming kelpie dog who wanders the Outback looking for his true owner. Red Dog producer Nelson Woss has joined forces with stage producer John Frost to create a new production, and the duo are now said to be on the hunt for the perfect dog to play the lead role. Frost told The Daily Telegraph that the story of Red Dog is "perfect fodder for the stage", saying: "Not only does it showcase this beautiful country, but it presses all the right emotional buttons. It's an iconic Australian story that needs to have another life.'' Frost (more) »

Actor Josh Lucas' new bride let her feelings for the Sweet Home Alabama star public in a love note she posted on her Tumblr.com page days before she became the star's first wife last week.
Lucas wed writer Jessica Ciencin Henriquez in New York's Central Park and she took to the internet just before her big day to reveal all about her romance with the movie star.
In the post, uncovered by Life & Style magazine, she writes, "In a dog park in New York, on a day like the thousands before it, I decided to take a chance. Maybe it was the blue eyes staring back at me, perhaps it was the loud and comfortable laugh that met each story I told that afternoon, but whatever the reason, I let myself fall - it was terrifying, beautiful and brilliant.
"48 hours later, our lives were shared in ways I've always found difficult to do before - but not then, not with him. It fit, nothing was forced or faked, and even if neither of us understood what was happening between us, we were confident in its uniqueness and absolutely taken aback by how easily we could love.
"1 mere flip of a calendar page later, and he bent his knee in Grace Cathedral, not promising the world but instead offering honesty, love and acceptance."
Lucas proposed to Henriquez in January and the couple is reportedly expecting its first child together. »
