‘The Flash’ Will Be Directed By The Screenwriters of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

Uhh, so this is a little bit unexpected, but in Hollywood you can fail upwards. The DC Films’ picture “The Flash” has played a lot of musical chairs. First Phil Lord and Chris Miller who bailed to make “Han Solo” (only to get fired) then “Dope” director Rick Famuyiwa dropped out too over “creative differences” and so too did Seth Grahame-Smith (“Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” and “Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter”), who also rewrote the script.

Is This Really Why the Han Solo Movie Trailer Is Delayed?

Solo is roughly four months away from release, and only today did we get a synopsis as part of Disney's big 2018 preview. No photos though, and no hint as to when we'll actually get to see the trailer. As things chug along, with no delayed release date yet announced, could Disney be pushing an agenda that wouldn't see a movie trailer ever released? Instead playing off J.J. Abrams' mystery box conceit, with audiences getting their first look only after they buy their ticket? While that almost sounds too genius to be true, it probably is. And it sounds like the upcoming reshoots are the real reason we haven't seen anything yet.

Solo has been a tumultuous production for Disney and Lucasfilm, and it's because of shareholders who have been promised a new movie this May that the standalone adventure hasn't been bumped yet. But that doesn't mean an announcement isn't coming soon.

Solo: A Star Wars Story Synopsis Teases A Dark And Dangerous Adventure

Now that Star Wars: The Last Jedi is moving into the rearview mirror, Disney and Lucasfilm are at last pushing the promotional campaign for Solo: A Star Wars Story into gear. The upcoming prequel starring Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo has been kept tightly under wraps so far, with only the odd set photo posted on director Ron Howard’s social media giving us any clue as to the nature of the movie.

But that’s about to change, as the first official synopsis for Solo has now dropped. The short outline keeps things pretty vague, of course, but teases the scruffy-looking nerf herder encountering some other iconic characters from the Star Wars franchise.

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep

First Official Synopsis for ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Teases an Eventful Adventure

Disney has released an official synopsis for Solo: A Star Wars Story, a major new Star Wars movie that’s coming out in a little over four months, and for which we haven’t seen so much as a single official image. Indeed, many assumed Lucasfilm would push Solo to December to give director Ron Howard more time to retool the film after original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller departed last summer over creative differences with just three weeks left of shooting. But nope, Lucasfilm is sticking with the May 25th release date for Solo, as evidenced by the …

The Week in Star Wars – More Solo: A Star Wars Story reshoots, The Force Awakens original ending, The Last Jedi passes $1.2 billion and more

Your weekend edition of The Week in Star Wars has the latest on those Solo reshoot rumours, the original ending for The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi’s box office performance and more…

Let’s kick things off with the latest rumours from the troubled Solo: A Star Wars Story. The film hit a nasty bump in the road last year when Lucasfilm announced they had fired directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller with just a few weeks left of production, leading to the hiring of Ron Howard who has reportedly reshoot around 80% of the movie. A rumour at the tail end of last year said that Disney and Lucasfilm were braced for Solo: A Star Wars Story to bomb at the box office, and a new rumour from a Reddit poster named Hufflepuffins (who does have a track record of correct reports) is reporting that the movie is heading

Fox Moves ‘Deadpool 2’ Forward Two Weeks, Pushes Back ‘New Mutants’ and ‘Gambit’

Fox Moves ‘Deadpool 2’ Forward Two Weeks, Pushes Back ‘New Mutants’ and ‘Gambit’
Fox has moved the release of Ryan Reynolds’ “Deadpool 2” forward by two weeks to May 18, when it will open a week ahead of Disney-Lucasfilm’s “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

The action-comedy sequel will open against against Sony’s horror film “Slender Man.” Fox’s move leaves the June 1 date without a film opening.

The move comes less than a month after Disney agreed to buy Fox’s entertainment assets, including the movie studio. “Solo” stars Alden Ehrenreich in an origin story that’s been directed first by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who were replaced last summer by Ron Howard.

Fox also announced Thursday that it’s moving its X-Men movie “New Mutants” back by 10 months from April 13 to Feb. 22, 2019. “Mutants” stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, and Charlie Heaton,

Additionally, Fox has decided to move Channing Tatum’s “Gambit” back by four months from Feb. 14, 2019, to June 7, 2019. Gore Verbinski exited Thursday and has not

Channing Tatum's Gambit Movie Loses Director Gore Verbinski

Channing Tatum's Gambit Movie Loses Director Gore Verbinski
The long-gestating Gambit movie has just hit another huge snag. Director Gore Verbinski, best known for his work on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, has exited the project. Not much is known about the details of his departure at this time, but "scheduling issues" were cited and it's said to be amicable. Even if that's true, and considering how close this movie is to production, this represents a major problem for Fox, while nobody has said this is happening yet, it's possible the movie could be delayed, depending on how this all shakes out.

Channing Tatum, who has been attached to star in Gambit for several years and has been producing it as a passion project, is still on board. Now it's just a matter of finding a new director. The fact that this is the third director to exit the X-Men spin-off is a bit troubling at this point.

Colin Trevorrow’s ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ Pitch Made Daisy Ridley Cry

The Disney era of “Star Wars” has left plenty of intriguing questions that will perhaps never get answered. What will become of all the footage Gareth Edwards shot that didn’t make the final cut of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story“? What about the material that Phil Lord and Chris Miller put together before they bounced from “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” and were replaced by Ron Howard?

Han Solo Movie Heads Back for More Reshoots This Month?

The Han Solo movie is getting ready for more reshoots. Does that mean it's time to really hit the panic button on the latest Star Wars standalone? Maybe, but there's a lot to consider. First, what we know is that the movie is said to be undergoing reshoots later this month that will last for about three weeks and will go into February. That means that by the time the reshoots are finished, we'll be a little more than three months away from the scheduled release of the Han Solo movie in theaters.

Before we go any further we should mention that this information is coming from Reddit. While Reddit sources are often spotty at best, this particular user, who goes by the name Hufflepuffins, accurately reported on Ron Howard resuming production on the movie in July 2017 when he took over for fired directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller. So

Newly-Launched Fairfax Theater Will Take Over Silent Movie Theatre from Cinefamily — Report

On Los Angeles’s Fairfax Avenue, the Silent Movie Theatre will reportedly soon have a new tenant: Fairfax Theater, LLC. Cinefamily — a pulse point in the Southern California film community that showcased arthouse fare — operated the space for 10 years prior to August 2017, when its activities were suspended after sexual harassment allegations prompted resignations from executive director Hadrian Belove (a co-founder) and board member Shadie Elnashai.

According to Cinefamily Accountability — a website founded by longtime Cinefamily patron Jon Zerolnick — the fledgling Fairfax Theater was established in October by Cinefamily co-founder and former treasurer Dan Harkham, who had the foresight then to know that Cinefamily would permanently close, a fact locals learned the following month. Pre-scandal, Cinefamily’s Board of Directors included well-known industry personalities like Amazon Original Movies head of production Ted Hope, and “The Lego Movie” co-writer/director Phil Lord. Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson was a member of its advisory board,

New Report Suggests Solo: A Star Wars Story Is Headed For More Reshoots

Just when you thought Solo: A Star Wars Story had crossed the finish line, Lucasfilm proceeds to schedule yet more reshoots.

At least, that’s the news coming out of Reddit today (with a tip of the hat to Screen Rant), so before we get into the weeds, let’s make one thing abundantly clear: with its user-submitted content and online forums, Reddit isn’t exactly what one would call a bastion of journalistic integrity, so perhaps it’s best to approach this alleged news with a heightened sense of caution.

That being said, we’re willing to give ‘Hufflepuffins’ the benefit of the doubt, as this is the same Redditor who originally revealed Solo‘s altered production timeline soon after Lucasfilm welcomed Ron Howard on board in lieu of Chris Miller and Phil Lord.

So, what’s the story? Well, according to this particular allegation, Solo: A Star Wars

Solo: A Star Wars Story Features A Totally Unique Shot Of The Millennium Falcon

The Millennium Falcon, otherwise known as the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, is poised for a slight makeover in the upcoming anthology pic, Solo: A Star Wars Story.

That’s because, much like Rogue One before it, Ron Howard’s long-awaited spinoff largely takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, which first introduced moviegoers to the inimitable Han Solo just as Luke and Obi-Wan paid a visit to Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine.

In doing so, Lucasfilm has given Ron Howard the necessary creative license to experiment with all things Star Wars, and at least according to Donald Glover – he’ll play the young Lando Calrissian in a few months’ time – Howard employed a totally new approach while filming the Falcon scenes.

I remember going on set one of the first times, he was like, ‘Yeah, I want to follow you onto the Millennium Falcon and do this thing.

Super Bowl 2018 Commercials Are Coming from Paramount and Universal

With the NFL Playoffs in full swing, the Super Bowl is just around the corner, with the big game on February 4 expected to feature a number of commercials promoting some of this year's biggest movies. A new report confirmed that both Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures will be shelling out big bucks for ads during the game, although it hasn't been confirmed which movies will be promoted yet. Whichever ads ultimately air, these Super Bowl commercials will cost the studios a pretty penny. While the price for a 30-second spot for this year's game hasn't been confirmed, Fox charged a whopping $5 million per spot last year.

Even though the studios haven't confirmed which movies will be promoted during the big game, there are a few candidates available for each studio. The Fifty Shades finale, Fifty Shades Freed, will hit theaters on February 9, just five days after the big game, so
