In today’s roundup, Al Gore is hosting a climate change town hall on MTV, and George Lopez announces premiere date of his new stand up special. 


Former Vice President Al Gore is hosting “An Inconvenient Special” town hall forum on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 7:30 p.m. on MTV. The special, also featuring Fat Joe and Steve Aoki, is to help amplify young people’s voices on the topic of climate change in connection with Gore’s upcoming film, “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.” During the half-hour town hall, there will be a segment with Fat Joe in Miami to speak about rising sea levels in the city. Viacom Networks will also bring awareness to the issue by making the week of July 31 “An Inconvenient Week,” with social, digital, and on-air support across 10 channels.

Smith Global Media sets release date for 'Gnome Alone'

Animation feature set to debut on 1,500 screens in the Us.

Smith Global Media has set October 13 this year as the Us theatrical release date for the animated adventure comedy Gnome Alone, directed by The Nut Job’s Peter Lepeniotis.

Michael Schwartz and Zina Zaflow wrote the screenplay based on a screen story by Rob Moreland and a story by Micah Herman and Kyle Newman.

The film centres on Chloe, who discovers her new home’s garden gnomes are not what they seem. She must decide between the pursuit of a desired high school life or banding with the gnomes to fight against the Troggs – menacing little monsters who have invaded the house through a portal from another world. Gnome Alone will debut on 1,500 screens in the Us.

The 49-year-old got personal while opening the show, revealing that his wife, Molly McNearney, had given birth to their son, William "Billy" Kimmel -- and then the comedian broke down in tears as he revealed the newborn's heart disease and subsequent successful surgery.

Jimmy Kimmel got personal tonight on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” opening up about complications following the birth of his son 10 days ago.

Kimmel broke down, tearing up through his nearly 15-minute long monologue. He recounted the “terrifying” few hours after Billy was born, how he started to turn purple about three hours after he was born, and a nurse at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center noticed and rushed him into emergency care.
