See if you can figure out what these 10 performers have in common: Judd Apatow, Will Arnett, Wayne Brady, Drew Carey, Jim Gaffigan, Billy Gardell, Sean Hayes, Thomas Lennon, John Mayer, and Kunal Nayyar.
Well, for one thing, they were all recently announced as guest hosts on CBS' "The Late Late Show" for the three-month interval between the end of Craig Ferguson's tenure (on Dec. 19) and the beginning of James Corden's.
And, for another thing, they're all guys.
There have been a lot of complaints, especially in the last year, that late-night TV is a sausage fest, but it's become especially apparent once again in the last few days. Really, CBS couldn't find one funny woman to sit at the "Late Late Show" desk, even for just a week?

The exclusive deal with Derbez underscores the high stakes of reaching the coveted Hispanic moviegoing audience — a fast-growing demographic at the box office.
Derbez starred in and directed Pantelion’s hit “Instructions Not Included,” the highest-grossing Spanish-language film ever released in the U.S. at $44 million. The film grossed another $55 million outside the U.S.
“Pantelion and Televisa can reach my core fan base better than anyone and, with the distribution expertise and brand recognition of Lionsgate, I know we can build on the crossover audience that we began to reach with ‘Instructions,'” Derbez said.
Derbez also starred in 2007’s “Under the Same Moon,” which took in about half of its $23 million worldwide in the U.S.

The half-hour, starring the comedy vets as mismatched Chicago lawyers, is produced under Debmar-Mercury and Lionsgate Television’s 10/90 model that bore comedies like “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” and “Anger Management.” If the show meets certain ratings benchmarks after its initial 10 episodes, as those did, it will get the go-ahead for 90 more.
FX has stated that its analysis of ratings data doesn’t begin until L+3s come in (DVR playback within three days of a telecast), but according to same-night estimates by Nielsen, “Partners” averaged a 0.35 rating in adults 18-49 and 1.12 million viewers overall in the 9 o’clock half-hour. It then dipped at 10:30 to a 0.30 and 1.01 million. This puts it a bit behind the March premiere of George Lopez 10/90 series “Saint George, »

FX made a deal with the studio of Saint George that, if the first season drew high enough ratings, the sitcom would be renewed for a second season of 90 episodes (similar to the Anger Management deal). Will it be renewed or be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
On Saint George, a recently divorced successful entrepreneur (George Lopez) struggles to balance the parenting demands of his All-American Anglo ex-wife and the cultural expectations of his overbearing Mexican-American mother. The cast includes Lopez, Jenn Lyon, Olga Merediz, Kaden Gibson, David Zayas, Danny Trejo, Diana-Maria Riva, Joey Pollari, and Tobit Raphael.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
7/12 update: FX has cancelled this »
Following a 10 episode run with low ratings, FX has reportedly decided to cancel Saint George. There won't be a second season of the sitcom.

Pantelion is a film venture between Lionsgate and Televisa. Its “Instructions Not Included” was a solid success with $44 million in domestic grosses last year — eclipsing “Pan’s Labyrinth” as the top Spanish-language grosser in the U.S.
The project, formerly called “La Vida Robot,” is directed by Sean McNamara. Lopez is producing through his Travieso Productions with David Alpert through Circle of Confusion along with Rick Jacobs, Leslie Kolins Smith and Ben Odell.
The film is based on a true story about four undocumented Mexican-American teenagers from Phoenix who team up to build an underwater robot that wins the national robotics competition. Marisa Tomei portrays a teacher whose belief in the rag tag team helps lead them to success and Lopez plays the teacher supervising the students. »
