Actress Eva Longoria Parker loves being a wife - but has to work hard on her marriage to make it stronger.
The Desperate Housewives star wed basketball player Tony Parker last summer and the pair can often find themselves apart because of busy workloads - but the actress doesn't let that get in the way of their relationship.
She tells Glamour magazine, "Marriage is a commitment, so you always have to work at it. For us, just juggling schedules is the biggest obstacle we have, and we don't even really have a problem with that either."
The diminutive actress reveals she is more of a traditional wife than her character in the hit show - and always makes sure her husband is well looked after.
She adds, "I love having dinner ready and making sure his clothes are ironed and that he's packed and ready when he goes on road trips. I'm the gardener (in our relationship). I definitely nurture. (Tony) is the flower. But there are times when Tony takes care of me - in an emotional sense, like, okay, let me take the reins on this one. But I love to take care of him. I'm really a very '50s housewife."
But even though the pair are happily settled, Longoria Parker admits they're still working on building their relationship: "I take it day by day. Tony and I would love to be together forever. But the only way you get to forever is one day at a time." »
But Longoria Parker has dismissed the rumours, because she feels "gifted" to be onset with the other actresses.
She tells Glamour magazine, "The women on the show are dear friends of mine. It.s been such a gift for me to be in their presence and learn not only from their acting abilities but from their life experiences.
"If this were a show about four men, it wouldn't even be an issue." »

The Menus:. Dinner for 15 Under $300 (see below). Cocktails for 20 Under $200. Cookies for 20 Under $100According to A-list event planner Mindy Weiss, the last thing most parties need is more. "Don't stress thinking 'More is more,'" says Weiss, who has handled over-the-top (yet somehow stress-free) celebrations for, among many others, Ellen DeGeneres, Ashlee Simpson, Eva Longoria Parker, Nicole Richie, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. Take the menu choices. You don't need to pile on exotic or trendy dishes. "I most often find when the client says, 'We need more,' what actually gets eaten is the familiar." As for the decor, »

The Desperate Housewives star has repeatedly been at the centre of pregnancy rumours after she piled on the pounds for her role in the hit U.S. show.
Basketball star Parker was forced to make an official statement earlier this year, insisting his actress wife was not expecting their first child.
He added he would be proud to make the baby announcement to the press once it happens, telling reporters, "We don't wanna hide it. I don't know why people keep asking us."
And now, the actress hints that family plans may not be too far away - admitting she can't wait to have their own brood.
She tells Usweekly.com, "We can't wait to start a family. I'm so excited about that chapter in our lives and you'll know when it happens." »
Worst 10 Movies of 2008 A Worst Movies list is obviously all dependent on how many films someone sees over the course of the year. Being someone that has to write about movies for a living I see my fair share, but I also do my best to avoid as many bad films as I can. So far this year I have reviewed 134 theatrical releases, which is a personal record for me since starting this site in 2003 so I would like to think I saw my fair share of bad films. Yet, so many films weren't screened for critics and I tend to avoid films such as Disaster Movie, College, Mad Money, Superhero Movie!, Meet Dave, The Hottie and the Nottie or anything from Tyler Perry. So this list is my personal list of worst films and I am sure many of you will have a different top ten and I can't wait to hear them. »

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) is due to ballot its members next month to authorise industrial action in an ongoing row with leading Hollywood studios and TV networks over royalty payments.
Cardholders of the 120,000-strong SAG rejected a three-year deal offered by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) earlier this year, and union bosses will now ballot members over a walkout which could cripple the upcoming awards season.
The letter reads: "We support our union and we support the issues we are fighting for, but we do not believe now is the time to be putting people out of work."
SAG is pushing for more money for actors when their work is released on DVD, plus a greater say in the endorsement of products on-air.

Over 130 stars have weighed in on the SAG strike authorization, coming out firmly against. Citing the economy, the A-listers “strongly” urged SAG members not to authorize a strike, and instead “take the high road … unite with our brothers and sisters in the entertainment community and … three years down the line … make a great deal” when all the union contracts expire roughly simultaneously.
In addition, SAG President Alan Rosenberg was forced to cancel the emergency in-person National Board meeting he had scheduled for this Friday, after SAG activists pointed out in the strongest terms that Rosenberg had no right under the SAG constitution or state law to require that the meeting be in person, rather than by videoconference. »

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie shared the spotlight Monday night with two VIPs. No, not Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria! (Although those two did make a surprise appearance at the L.A. premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.) But as far as Pitt was concerned, the extra-special guest stars were his parents, Bill and Jane Pitt. The couple strolled the red carpet with Jolie, who looked stunning in a strapless black dress. And the actress certainly played dutiful host, declining to chat with some reporters saying, "I have to stay with them." Pitt, for his part, looked dapper »

Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett came out to premiere The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in La last night. While they were the stars on the big screen, Angelina Jolie was the one who lit up the evening with her big smile, happily supporting Brad. She playfully hid behind a poster joking around with Brad's costars. The duo look blissful — not to mention picture perfect — joined by Brad's parents Bill and Jane. Of course one of the night's showstoppers was Cate Blanchett in her unique dress. They were joined by some more glamor in the shape of Jennifer Lopez in a revealing number, Eva Longoria popping in blue and his Legends of the Fall costar Julia Ormond. These days the Jolie-Pitts may be calling Europe and New Orleans home more so than La, but there's always a place for their Hollywood smiles when the red carpet rolls out. To see »
