When I began covering Lifetime’s new soap Devious Maids last year, I was every bit the open-minded – albeit conflicted – journalist. The internal debate I was having about the show – about five Hispanic maids – went something like: “Well, there’ll finally be a television show with a primarily Latina cast!” Followed by, “But they’re all maids.” A slew of thoughts ensued, all along the lines of “We Latinas are more than maids – we’re doctors, engineers, bankers and more,” and then “maids are people too and that’s how many immigrants earn their start in this country.”

Los Angeles, April 15: Actress Eva Longoria describes her boyfriend, media Mogul José Antonio Bastón, as a good dresser, but says it is an arduous task for her to "step it up".
The former "Desperate Housewives" star has been dating Bastón, the president of Latin America's Televisa media company, since the end of last year, reports contactmusic.com.

NBC aims to find fresh comedy voices through a talent-search initiative dubbed “Comedy Playground.”
The Peacock is inviting aspiring writers to submit short video pitches for original comedy projects to the website NBCComedyPlayground.com starting on May 1.
An advisory board of NBC-affiliated comedy talent will help execs select up to 10 finalists who will receive funding to produce a presentation.
The two winners selected will see up to five episodes of their show produced for airing on NBC in summer 2015. But the presentations of all finalists will be made available on the NBC Comedy Playground website. Viewers will be encouraged to vote for their favorite project to be developed as a digital series.
The Comedy Playground effort is part of NBC Entertainment prexy Jennifer Salke’s effort to find creative ways to develop new material for the network, something she has said is a priority for her department.

London, April 1: Eva Longoria has admitted that she's not sure if she'll ever have kids.
While talking to Parade magazine, the 39-year-old actress said that though she's always wanted a family, children are a product of love and hence she won't have a baby by herself unless she finds the right man, the Mirror reported.
