NCIS definitely knows how to raise the stakes with international missions, inter-agency subterfuge and kidnapped military personnel. Far from a run-of-the-mill murder case, tonight's investigation was just the onset of an intriguing new arc that could continue through next month's season finale, if not beyond.
The conclusion of "The Missionary Position" unfolded very quickly and felt anticlimactic after a compelling, slow-building first 45 minutes in the U.S. and Colombia, but it was just the opening chapter.
More questions were asked than answered, and none greater than what Dr. Samantha Ryan (Jamie Lee Curtis) knows about the mysterious Monique Lisson (Karina Lombard), whose penchant for secrecy and suspicious background were evident from the start. In that respect, Lisson is a fitting adversary for Ryan.
Following their apparent sleepover at Gibbs' house, were led to believe that Ryan's reappearance could be purely personal, to showcase her new relationship with Gibbs, and not necessarily related to tonight's case. »

“This relationship goes back a while and we see a hint of what I may have been like for these two women when they were operating together, but their relationship is different….she realizes there’s something off about her,” star Cote de Pablo tells EW.
Lisson, she explains, is a woman who’s sacrificed everything »

CBS’ NCIS will soon solve a bit of a mystery when viewers — as well as Tony’s colleagues — meet “the boy from Baltimore.” And TVLine has an exclusive first look at the now-young man’s somewhat incendiary arrival.
In the April 17 episode of TV’s most watched drama series, when a warehouse fire compromises Navy documents and thus poses a threat to national security, the NCIS team joins the Baltimore Pd’s investigation. There, Tony is reunited with Jason King (played by Friday Night Lights alum Gaius Charles), who as a young boy was rescued by Dinozzo from a fire, »

What will happen between NCIS' Tony and Ziva when they go to South America together next month? Cote de Pablo (Ziva) shares some insight on that very subject in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Cote notes that on one of the last trips Tony and Ziva took - to Paris, in Season 7's "Jet Lag" - the pair gave conflicting reports about the nature of their interactions, keeping viewers guessing as to what took place.
That was exactly their intention, she says.
“The France trip was really great, lots of fun. But Michael [Weatherly] and I had our own agenda. The way we played scenes was that something definitely happened, even though it was never addressed,” she recalls.
On the show's next new episode, airing April 10, the pair takes a trip to Colombia to work a case alongside a longtime friend and mentor of Ziva’s, played by guest star »

As we first talked about last week, a longtime friend and mentor of Ziva’s, played by Karina Lombard (Rescue Me, The L Word), becomes involved in a case being worked on by the team on NCIS.
What's the premise for her arrival next month?
“We established in the [Season 9] opener that she has this friend who she was going to talk to and see,” says executive producer and show-runner Gary Glasberg. “In this episode, we’re actually going to meet this woman, who is a friend of Ziva’s who shares a bit of big sister relationship with her.”
The April episode sends the team to Colombia to investigate the case of a missing Navy chaplain.
“She participates with us and helps us figure it out. Along the way, you get an understanding of the relationship [between Ziva and her friend],” he said, teasing that it plays into a much bigger picture.
All this, Glasberg tells Entertainment Weekly, »

Coté de Pablo is being given the chance to explore her NCIS character’s past with the introduction of an old mentor. During the season premiere, Pablo’s Ziva David alluded to a friend of hers living in Central America and now it seems that friend is making her way stateside. The actress cast to play the part should be well known to anyone who watched the highly lesbian-focused series, The L Word.
According to TVLine, Karina Lombard will guest star in an April episode as the longtime friend and mentor of Ziva’s, Monique Lisson. She’ll give us a nice glimpse at who Ziva used to be, while still playing that mentor role. In a way she’ll function as Ziva’s version of Mike Franks, guiding her into figuring out what she wants from her life professionally. So far it sounds like a pretty run of the mill role, »

Karina Lombard has been cast on NCIS - as Ziva's longtime friend and mentor!
Lombard’s character, named Monique Lisson, was first alluded to in September's Season 9 premiere, "Nature of the Beast," during which Ziva made mention of a female friend she had in Central America.
Ep Gary Glasberg told TV Line that he planned to “introduce Ziva’s [version of Mike] Franks - someone who’s going to sort of guide her a little bit in figuring out what she wants from life, professionally.”
Monique, typically for NCIS, has a secretive past of her own, of course.
NCIS returns with new episodes March 20, but Lombard will appear sometime in April. Her TV and film resume includes The L Word, Rescue Me, CSI, CSI: NY, Legends of the Fall and other projects.

2012, USA
NBC Thursday 10Pm
Episode 1.01: “Pilot”
Directed by David Straiton
Written by Lukas Reiter, developed for television by Lukas Reiter, based on the novel The Firm by John Grisham.
With Prime Suspect regretfully cancelled, NBC has decided to fill the Thursday 10Pm slot with The Firm and gave us the two hour pilot on Sunday.
Given that Prime Suspect was my favourite new show and my second favourite show on broadcast TV after The Good Wife, The Firm has perhaps an unfair burden to carry. So, let’s not consider it in relation to other procedurals, let’s consider the show in relation to itself. In other words, what part of this shit sandwich that NBC fed us on Sunday is any good?
Well, the foundation of any sandwich is the bread and The Firm is based on a very strong novel by John Grisham – his most »
