11 Things You Probably Never Knew About Disney Classic Lizzie McGuire

21 June 2017 5:06 PM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

I have an incredible statement to make: it's been 16 years since Lizzie McGuire started airing on the Disney Channel. Feel old yet? The show's star, Hilary Duff, is turning 30 this year. Now do you feel old? Whether you do or don't, I'm still willing to bet that if you're a millennial, you watched a whole lot of classic Disney Channel back in the day. (Or maybe you watched Nickelodeon, in which case I have nothing to discuss with you.) I loved watching Lizzie McGuire because Lizzie was just sooo relatable. Remember that episode when she just wants to get a bra, but she had to awkwardly talk about it in front of her dad and brother? Been there, done that. I have a special place in my heart for the show and the character because I felt like I was going through life right along with Lizzie. So from one fan to another, I wanted to share these 11 fun facts about the show that you might not have known before. RelatedVery Important Question: Were You a Nickelodeon Kid or a Disney Channel Kid? Heartthrob Ethan Craft was almost portrayed as a bully. Lucky for us, the showrunners switched gears and had him be a lovable character instead. Speaking of Ethan, Clayton Snyder, who played Ethan, said as his hair got progressively longer throughout the show, he ended up taking more time in hair and makeup than the girls did. A lot of otherwise-famous people had cameos on Lizzie McGuire, including Zachary Quinto, Frankie Muniz, Steven Tyler, and Doris Roberts. Hilary Duff almost didn't get the role of Lizzie. In fact, actress Sara Paxton was considered for the role, as was Lindsay Lohan. Even though we feel like there have been years and years of episodes of Lizzie, there are actually only 65 of them. Only 65! Lizzie's bitmoji character almost didn't happen. Originally the show was just going to have Hilary doing voiceover, but the cartoon character ended up being added in with it. When Hilary got the call from Disney that they wanted her to come in to read for the role of Lizzie, she didn't want to go. She said in an interview in 2006 that she wanted her big break and didn't want to work for Disney. Hilary said she didn't do well on her first audition because she admittedly didn't know any of her lines. She only went out for the role so she could see her friends. Disney Channel execs weren't impressed with Hilary's acting in the beginning, so they demanded the showrunners hire an acting coach to work with the cast. There was almost a spinoff about Lizzie's best friend Miranda and her little sister, Stevie, called What's Stevie Thinking?, but it never happened. Selena Gomez was actually supposed to play Stevie! The show's creator, Terri Minsky, wants to bring everyone back together for a remake, but unfortunately Hilary's not interested. »

Critics Pick the Worst Movies They’ve Ever Reviewed

19 June 2017 1:48 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of film and TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Monday.

This week’s question: “The Book of Henry” has been assailed by critics. But let’s look beyond this particular reviled new release. What’s the worst movie you’ve ever reviewed?

Alissa Wilkinson (@alissamarie), Vox

It’s unfortunately not even a contest: “God’s Not Dead 2,” which I reviewed for Flavorwire and then wrote about it further for Thrillist. (The first movie is actually far worse, but I didn’t review it.) They’re actually not the worst-made movies I’ve seen, but as a Christian and a film critic, I find them so actively offensive and cynical that it’s somehow even more depressing. I didn’t derive any joy from the process, but it felt important that I write about it.

"I actually wrote the joke that's on that billboard," Eichner tells Et. "I'm glad the network thought it was funny and let me do it. And then on top of that, whoever owns that ad space where that humongous billboard is, they have to approve the contents of the billboard, too. We weren't »

Lindsay Lohan joins Rupert Grint and Nick Frost in Sick Note

Kirsten Howard Jun 13, 2017

Sky are so jazzed about their new show Sick Note that they're already filming season 2, with added Lindsay Lohan...

All the way back in April (think how much has happened since then, in this darkest of the timelines) we reported that Rupert Grint's Snatch TV show had been renewed for a second season. Along with this news, we were also informed that the actor's other TV show, Sick Note, had also been renewed.

Just one issue there: we'd never heard of Sick Note, let alone been in a position to celebrate its renewal. This, it turned out, was because the first season of Sky's new comedy series hadn't even started airing yet - and it still hasn't. Filming on the aforementioned second season still continues apace, however, »

Rupert Grint: First Still from Sick Note Season 2!

12 June 2017 9:58 AM, PDT | Rupert-Grint.us/ | See recent Rupert Grint - Ice Cream Man news »

une 12th, 2017, 1:05pm– Rupert Grint started filming season 2 of Sick Note last week and we already have an official first still from the new series. The picture was first released by Lindsay Lohan on twitter and several news outlets have picked up the story and supplied it with more exciting information (e.g. see here and here). The show has apparently switched from Sky Atlantic to Sky 1 and season 1 will air later this year at 10pm. The second series will then follow soon after and will consist of 8 episodes of 30 min (season 1 will have 6 episodes with 5 being 30 min and one lasting an hour). Jon Mountague, head of comedy for Sky, has this to say about season 2 of Sick Note: One lie leads to the next in this unsettlingly brilliant comedy that will hook viewers in and have them on the very edge of their seats. Filming for series two is already under way and we’re delighted to confirm Lindsay Lohan will be joining Rupert and Nick in this stellar comedy cast. Lindsay Lohan will play Don Johnson‘s daughter (who plays Rupert’s boss) Katerina West. Let’s hope we get loads of sightings from the set like we did last year when they shot season 1. Weirdly, another still – though very very similar to the first one – was tweeted by Now TV. See it Here. Now we can play “spot the difference” in the comments »
