Is Boba Fett the Next Star Wars Spin-Off After Han Solo?

Many fans were disappointed to learn this past month that a Boba Fett teaser trailer had been completed and was ready to debut at the 2015 Star Wars Celebration. It was scrapped just before the big event, though, due to Fantastic Four director Josh Tank being fired. The movie, which was supposed to follow this month's Rogue One, was indefinitely shelved, and the teaser was locked in the Disney vaults. Well, it sounds like that first look footage might get dusted off in time for Star Wars Celebration 2017 if a new rumor is to be believed.

My Entertainment World is now listing Boba Fett: A Star Wars Story as being in production. Though, Disney nor Lucasfilm have officially confirmed this spin-off is happening. Hollywood Remembers ‘Star Wars’ Actor Kenny Baker Who Was the ‘Heart and Soul’ of R2-D2

After news broke that Kenny Baker — the actor who brought the iconic “Star Wars” character R2-D2 to life — had died, the internet broke out with adoring tributes.

Baker, who stood at 3 feet 8 inches tall, played the beloved protocol droid in the first six “Star Wars” films starting with “Episode IV” in 1977.

Mark Hamill, known for playing Luke Skywalker, called Baker “a lifelong friend.”

“I loved his optimism and determination,” he wrote and concluded his tweet with a twist on a famous line. “He Was the droid I was looking for!”

Writer and actor Edgar Wright wrote “Rip R2D2. Farewell Fidget, Time Bandit. Goodbye Mister Kenny Baker,” alluding to his “Star Wars” character and the role he played in the 1981 British fantasy film “Time Bandits.”

Kenny Baker was 81 when he died.

Kenny Baker, Who Originated R2-D2 in Star Wars, Has Died at 81

After battling a long unnamed illness, Kenny Baker has reportedly died. The actor, who originated the role of R2-D2 in George Lucas' Star Wars franchise, was just two weeks shy of his 82nd birthday when he passed away, his family confirmed to the BBC. His agent Johnny Mans told the BBC that the actor had been ill for a couple of years, and had been cared for by his nephew. Born in Birmingham, England, Baker lived in Preston. A father of two, his wife, Eileen, died in 1993. She was also an actress, co-starring with him in the 1997 film Wombling Free. »

Star Trek Continues: A Great Web Series and a Great Homage

With the debut today of the sixth episode of the excellent web series Star Trek Continues, Cinelinx looks at one of the most outstanding fan-fiction projects being produced today, as it reaches its third year. This show is not only a superb tribute to the original Star Trek, it’s a well-made and entertaining series in its own right.

 Any fan of the original Star Trek TV series should enjoy this impressive follow-up, which continues the Five Year Mission of the USS Enterprise. It picks up after the last episode of the original show “Turnabout Intruder” (The final scene of which is recreated in a short video vignette that precedes the series) and chronicles the 4th year of Captain Kirk and his crew going where no man has gone before.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is currently making short work of the worldwide box office. Despite the fact that said Jj Abrams film hasn’t event left cinemas yet, Lucasfilm and Disney are already working on its follow-up and a whole host of other Star Wars movies (namely a handful of spin-offs that will expand on the story of the main saga).
