Review: 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' - 'Boyle's Hunch': Jailhouse romance?

11 October 2015 6:00 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

A quick review of tonight's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" coming up just as soon as I can prove intent to fart... By now, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is a stage where it has a lot of old reliables, joke-wise. Anytime a scene needs a laugh, the show can always lean on Terry announcing his like of something unexpected, or Holt uttering an amusing word or phrase (or, really, Holt saying any words at all, as we saw last week with "Paaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiin"), or Santiago struggling to contain her enthusiasm for something no one else cares about. Or, as we got throughout the very funny A-story of "Boyle's Hunch," the show can always go to Boyle being disgusting on the subjects of food and/or sex. The week after one of Charles' flings was ruined because Lt. Singh turned out to be a vegan, he runs into an attractive woman (played by Chloe herself, Mary Lynn Rajskub »

Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Season Three Ratings

5 October 2015 1:07 PM, PDT | | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Last season Fox tried airing live-action sitcoms on Sunday nights with their animated series. Their gamble paid off and Brooklyn Nine-Nine was renewed. How will the ratings go this time around? Will it be renewed for a fourth season or will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine follows a group of unique detectives and officers at the NYPD's 99th Precinct. The sitcom's cast includes Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti, Dirk Blocker, and Joel McKinnon MIller.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- usually the next day, around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest.Read More… »

The Good Wife’s Archie Panjabi to Guest Star in Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 3

31 July 2015 7:49 AM, PDT | | See recent news »

Kalinda Sharman is taking her “in-house” investigating out onto the streets, as Archie Panjabi has copped her first post-Good Wife TV role. The Emmy-winning actress will guest star in a Season 3 episode of Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine this fall. TVLine was the first to report the casting news. Per TVLine, Panjabi will play Lieutenant Knox, “a police officer who has her eye on Joe Lo Truglio’s Detective Boyle.” If Knox is anything at all like Kalinda, any type of interaction between her and Boyle, especially if it’s of the romantic kind, should be pretty terrific. Panjabi will appear in the second episode of Brooklyn‘s third season, which is scheduled to air on Oct. 4. In addition to starring as Kalinda on The Good Wife throughout the show’s first six seasons, Panjabi’s other TV credits include The Fall, the minseries The Widower, and the original British version of Life on Mars. »

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp review

31 July 2015 12:25 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper and roughly a million other stars go back to Camp Firewood in Netflix's latest comedy series...

It’s been a long road back to Camp Firewood.

It seems that ever since the release of the original Wet Hot American Summer movie back in 2001, writers David Wain and Michael Showalter have been teasing the idea of a reunion. However, given that the film featured a cast which included Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd - each only a fraction as famous at the time as they are now - the idea fast became a dangled carrot which seemed to get further and further from anyone’s grasp. It was going to take a Goliath to make it happen.

Enter Netflix, who in January announced (following a long period of speculation) that it would be stumping up the cash to get the band back together. »

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp Review

22 July 2015 2:00 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Six episodes were provided for review purposes.

For a platform offering instant pop culture gratification, it’s not surprising that Netflix’s original programming slate has leaned heavily on two things: name recognition and wish fulfillment. Breaking into a crowded market of prestige dramas and genre TV? Bring in Kevin Spacey and the Wachowskis. Courting comedy and comic book fans? Resurrect Arrested Development and Daredevil. Improbably combining the appeal of both is Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, an eight-episode miniseries that acts as the prequel to a little-seen 2001 comedy starring a collection of erstwhile unknowns. Wet Hot American Summer was ridiculous, unpredictable, and hilarious. The same can be said of both the new Netflix miniseries, and how it came to be.

A lot has changed in the worlds of comedy, movies, and TV during the 14 years since Wet Hot American Summer was released. An entire cast of SNL stars has sprouted, »

‘Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp’ Debuts Star-Studded Staff Orientation Film (Video)

Summertime is sleep-away camp time, but a new mock orientation video makes it clear parents probably wouldn’t want to send their kiddies to “Wet Hot American Summer” getaway Camp Firewood. Netflix unveiled the star-studded camp counselor film advertising its upcoming prequel to the 2001 cult classic on Thursday, and the event series looks like more fun than rope-swinging into a lake. In the clip, viewers will get to know a little about Susie (Amy Poehler), Gail (Molly Shannon) and Neil (Joe Lo Truglio), among others. All we get from Vic (Ken Marino) is an off-camera “Suck my dick!” response to Neil’s. »

With Wet Hot American Summer you tend to expect the unexpected, and that's exactly the route that the Netflix revival series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, has taken per the hilarious first trailer.

Netflix Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp is a prequel to the original film and set during the first day at Camp Firewood rather than the last. What makes this turning back of the clock hilarious is that the cast is substantially older and now playing younger versions of themselves from the original film.

Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, and Michael Showalter are all back from the Wet Hot American Summer movie to reprise their roles for the Netflix series.
