It's A Full-On 'Scrubs' Reunion On 'Cougar Town'

It's A Full-On 'Scrubs' Reunion On 'Cougar Town'
When Travis ran away to Hawaii on "Cougar Town" (Tue., 8:30 p.m. Et on ABC), he ran into Ted Buckland (Sam Lloyd) from "Scrubs." It was the same actor and the same character across the two Bill Lawrence shows, but Lloyd wasn't the only returning "Scrubs" alumnus in attendance at this week's "Cougar Town," though he was the only character.

Ted and his a cappella group showed up in Florida for a competition, bunking at Jules' place for a while. There he saw Ellie (Christa Miller) -- who looks a lot like Jordan Sullivan from his old job -- sitting next to Bobby's new girlfriend, played by Sarah Chalke -- who of course looks identical to Dr. Elliot Reid.

Suddenly, Ted started freaking out realizing that they women here looked like women he knew there, and then they started picking up their mannerisms. Suddenly, Ken Jenkins dropped in to

TV Review: ABC’s ‘Cougar Town’ Finally Returns With Strong Premiere

Chicago – With almost every episode they’ve produced, ABC’s “Cougar Town” has turned into a better program. It’s been remarkable to watch creator Bill Lawrence and his team refine what works about this show. They’ve taken it away from the star vehicle feel of its first season to an ensemble show in its Finally-debuting third season, tonight, February 14th, 2012. Spend Valentine’s Day with one of the stronger comedies on TV.

Television Rating: 4.0/5.0

ABC is in an enviable position that still could spell death for “Cougar Town” — they have a wealth of quality comedy. “Modern Family” and “Happy Endings” are two of the best on TV, “Suburgatory” gets better with every episode, and “The Middle” is a solid performer. That’s four shows, which leaves no room for “Cougar Town” back on Wednesday nights. Pairing it with Tim Allen’s mediocre “Last Man Standing,” which has a very different demo,

Cougar Town Returns With More Romance, Comedy and Neighborly Shenanigans (feat. Video Interview with Courteney Cox and Josh Hopkins)

As a special treat for fans and new viewers, Cougar Town returns on Valentine’s Day with an especially fun episode that will make romantics at-heart swoon. The entire episode (aptly entitled “Ain’t Love Strange”) is a love letter. It is a warm-hearted ode to the fans that have watched for the prior two seasons, and an enticing invitation to new viewers to check out a show that has been saddled with a misleading moniker.

The running joke for the past two years has been to poke fun at the title of the show. Contrary to its name, the show offers a lively look at a charming group of friends who have become a family over the course of their lifetime adventures and who have welcomed a few more lonely neighbors and co-workers into their lives. While divorces tend to drive people away, the divorce of Jules and Bobby

Exclusive: In-Depth with Ryan Levin on Some Guy Who Kills People

It started with a tweet. I have no idea who put said tweet in my feed, but in that feed there was a trailer for a film that sounded so vague that admittedly my curiosity was piqued. The name? Some Guy Who Kills People.

Written by Ryan Levin, directed by Jack Perez and starring Kevin Corrigan, Some Guy Who Kills People tells the story of Ken Boyd, a lonely man fresh out of the loony bin who sets out to kill those he deems responsible for his miserable life.

Using the powers of Twitter, I reached out to writer Ryan Levin and this is what happened...

Crix: Where did the idea for Sgwkp come about?

Ryan Levin: The idea came from a short film I made in 2007 called “The Fifth,” in which a group of buddies hang out, play poker and shoot the shit about their jobs. One of the guys,

'Cougar Town': Zach Braff comes aboard for a 'Scrubs' reunion

When Bill Lawrence was running "Scrubs," he had a bunch of actors from his previous show, "Spin City," appear as guest stars. Now that he's moved on to "Cougar Town," he's continued the cycle by having several former "Scrubs" stars do guest roles.

That list is about to grow: "Scrubs" star Zach Braff and semi-regular Robert Maschio, aka The Todd, are set to appear on "Cougar Town" this season. But that's not all: The episode in which they're guest-starring, TVLine reports, will be a full-blown "Scrubs" reunion that also features Sarah Chalke, Ken Jenkins and Sam Lloyd, in addition to "Ct" regular Christa Miller.

As previously reported, Chalke will have a recurring part on the show as Bobby's (Brian Van Holt) new girlfriend. Jenkins is reprising his role as Jules' (Courteney Cox) father, and Lloyd will continue his "Scrubs"-world crossover as Ted. Just who Braff and Maschio will be

Morning Meme: Lance Bass Whores Out Broadway, Nom Lies Again and Meet the Slutty Pumpkin

Paul Walker is in talks to star in the American adaptation of District B 13, which will also star David Belle, from the original French movie. I'm hoping that Walker spends a lot of the movie shirtless, learning parkour.

You can create your own Pop Up Video and share it with your friends.

Spain has censored all of Eva Longoria's lesbian scenes from Without Men, about a town where all the men are forcibly conscripted into a guerilla army and the women make do.

Today in incredibly unnecessary sequel news, work has begun on a Dumb & Dumber sequel starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, with the Farrelly brothers directing.

Lance Bass is reportedly planning to produce the play Hollywood Whores, with Kirstie Alley playing the pimp. I'm unclear from the write-ups if the whores are male or female, or a mixture of both.

It was only a matter of time before Sarah Chalke made her way on to the set of Cougar Town. Having starred in the Bill Lawrence created Scrubs for eight years; it makes sense that Lawrence would use her in his newest series. Now what exactly will Chalke be doing once she arrives in Cougar Town?

According to TVLine, Chalke plays a photography professor at Travis’ (Dan Byrd) college whose name is Angie. She’ll appear in multiple episodes as a love interest for Bobby (Brian Van Holt). Angie is described as being of natural beauty and has a cool vibe. She’ll meet Bobby through Travis, and fingers crossed that Travis doesn’t have a weird student crush on her.

'Cougar Town': Abed, Big Kimo and other things to love about the season finale

"Cougar Town" will have a longer-than-usual break between seasons 2 and 3, thanks to ABC moving the show to Tuesdays and opting to start it after "Dancing With the Stars" concludes in the fall.

So we're thankful that the show's hour-long season finale, most of which was filmed in Hawaii, left us with so much good stuff to re-watch and talk about for the next six months or so. There were a couple of decent-sized story developments -- Jules and Grayson acknowledging, if not yet fully working out, their clashing feelings about having kids together and Laurie helping convince Travis to come home by exploiting his crush on her -- but it was also really, really funny in some unexpected ways. A few thoughts on what made "Something Good Coming" so good:

Closing the "Community" loop: Busy Philipps and Dan Byrd appeared in the background of the "Community" season finale, and "Cougar Town
