Before Blake Lively becomes a certified action heroine following 2016’s surprise cultish hit, “The Shallows” with the Mma fighter movie “Bruised”, she’s dabbling in the indie scene with the drama “All I See Is You.” Having premiered at Tiff last year, it got lost in the buzz of films such as “Lion” and “Moonlight”.

Attention Upper East Siders! We have some major Gossip Girl news. For six seasons, we watched Blake Lively star as Serena van der Woodsen in the CW series. The series helped launch Lively into Hollywood stardom and as a result she became a fashion icon. But what if Lively hadn't been cast as Serena? What if Jennifer Lawrence had be chosen for the role? The show's creator Josh Schwartz just revealed in an interview with Vulture that Lawrence actually auditioned for the part back when she was a teenager! "We did not realize this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned," he told the site. "This story came to us secondhand, but we were told she »
Hey Upper East Siders, we have some information that might blow your mind: Jennifer Lawrence once auditioned for The CW's hit drama Gossip Girl. According to the show's creator Josh Schwartz, the Oscar-winning actress, who would have been 16 at the time, really wanted to play NYC's favorite It girl. "We did not realize this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned," Schwartz told Vulture ahead of the show's upcoming 10th anniversary. "This story came to us secondhand, but we were told she definitely auditioned and was bummed to not get it." While it's hard to imagine anyone other than Blake Lively as the blond bombshell, we are definitely curious to know how Lawrence would have tackled the role. »

The TV world missed out. Jennifer Lawrence auditioned for the role of Serena van der Woodsen in the “Gossip Girl,” series co-creator Josh Schwartz says. The mastermind behind both “Gossip Girl” and “The O.C.” told Vulture: “We did not realize this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned. This story came to us secondhand, but we were told she definitely auditioned and was bummed to not get it.” Schwartz said he can’t remember whether he watched the tape or not, and of course, the role of the preppy it girl went to Blake Lively. »

We're seeing red…a red carpet, that is. The 2017 Emmy Awards is just around the corner, and with it, a supple supply of major, if not momentous, gowns and ensembles to ogle. Most eyes will likely be on the nominees—Nicole Kidman hardly ever misses a step, Reese Witherspoon always looks good in yellow and Viola Davis is the reigning queen of off-the-shoulder necklines. There will also be a few shining style stars who will stop the red-carpet show. How do we know? It's happened in the past. Whether it was Blake Lively at the 2009 Emmys, in that jaw-dropping, plunging, backless Versace stunner, or Nina Dobrev's va-va-voom Donna Karan number at the 2011 Emmys, fashion »
He's Chuck Bass. Seriously, it's the answer to everything when it comes to the iconic Gossip Girl character. How can he rock a patchwork scarf? He's Chuck Bass. A green suit and a purple robe? Again, he's Chuck Bass. While fashionistas lost their minds on a weekly basis over the wardrobes of Blair (Leighton Meester) and Serena (Blake Lively), the bad boy of the Upper East Side had just as much, if not more, fanfare over his colorful, over-the-top looks, which Ed Westwick rocked with charisma and ease. In honor of the show's 10 year anniversary, we're revisiting some of Chuck's most iconic looks ever, which were all picked by costume designer Eric Daman back in »
Blake Lively may be married to Ryan Reynolds, but it looks like she also has love for a famous frog. The former Gossip Girl star posed with Kermit the Frog for the cover of Love Magazine, which showcased the latest fashion from Miu Miu. Kermit wore a green and white coat for the shoot—accentuating his gorgeous green complexion and bright white eyeballs—while Lively wore a yellow coat. But he wasn't the only Muppet Lively was photographed with. She also posed with Kermit's leading lady Miss Piggy. Lively and Piggy held hands for the photo and rested their heads against each other. Piggy donned a light purple coat and hat, which matched her purple eyeshadow, and »
10 years later and we're still gossiping about Gossip Girl's style. Can you believe the CW hit series premiered 10 years ago today, debuting on September 14, 2007. Little did we know the impact Gossip Girl (and its stars) would have on the pop culture landscape, especially when it came to the fashion. Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf (as well as their real-life counterparts, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester) quickly became TV's new it girls, inspiring trend after trend, including B's signature headbands and tights, and S' boho-chic aesthetic. Back in 2012, ahead of the series finale, we asked the show's iconic costume designer Eric Daman to single out 10 of his »
After waxing poetic about the B-movie thrills and genuine vision Jaume Collet-Serra brings to his films, I admit feeling a little vindicated when he finally earned some much-deserved acclaim for his Blake Lively-led shark thriller The Shallows, by the far the best summer blockbuster of last year. But it was only missing one thing: Liam Neeson.
Following Unknown, Non-Stop, and Run All Night, the duo have now reunited for The Commuter. Riffing once again on Alfred Hitchcock and bringing along his Orphan star Vera Farmiga for the ride, the film presents Neeson’s character with a question of morality: for $75,000, will he uncover a person with seemingly evil intentions on his train?
We can’t wait to find out, but watching the first trailer below, it looks like we already know the answer.
The Commuter blesses us on January 12, 2018. »

After a brief sojourn with Blake Lively, a giant shark, and a humorously-named seagull in last year’s The Shallows, Spanish filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra has returned to his one true muse, Liam Neeson, for his newest film. The new trailer for The Commuter has pulled into the station, and this looks like a vintage Colleta-Serra/Neeson joint: a guy gets […]

New Line Cinema's It remake gave the sagging box office a much-needed jolt after the worst summer season in 11 years, pulling in a massive $123.4 million, which even came in $6 million higher than the original estimate of $117.1 million. The tally easily set a new record for the highest September opening weekend in history, along with the highest debut for any horror movie in history, and provided even more proof that audiences are hungry for edgy R-rated fare. This weekend, Pennywise and The Losers Club will go up against three new movies opening in wide release, Lionsgate's action-packed adaptation American Assassin, Paramount's bizarre drama mother! and Open Road Films' thriller All I See Is You. None of these movies are expected to give It a serious run for the box office crown, with the movie easily expected to repeat atop the box office with $66.2 million.

Things take an upsetting turn quickly — from friendly small talk to daring proposition — in the trailer for “The Commuter,” a thriller set on a commuter train starring the dynamic duo of Liam Neeson and Vera Farmiga. Neeson plays an affable hero, unwittingly lured into Farmiga’s mysterious plot. “The Commuter” is the latest from “The Shallows” director Jaume Collet-Serra, which just released a high stakes first trailer.
Per the official synopsis: “Liam Neeson plays an insurance salesman, Michael, on his daily commute home, which quickly becomes anything but routine. After being contacted by a mysterious stranger, Michael is forced to uncover the identity of a hidden passenger on his train before the last stop. As he works against the clock to solve the puzzle, he realizes a deadly plan is unfolding and is unwittingly caught up in a criminal conspiracy. One that carries life and death stakes for himself and his fellow passengers. »

Nicki Minaj is a “Barbie in the city” during New York Fashion Week, no matter what the weather is.
The rapper, 34, was all dressed up for the Oscar de la Renta show on Monday, opting for a black and white fur coat from the brand’s Fall/ Winter 2017 ready-to-wear collection. The hooded outwear features a crew neckline, full length sleeves as well as arctic marble fox and black dyed silver fox graphic intarsia.
But if you’re looking to get Minaj’s designer coat, it’ll cost you: the same garment retails for $19,000.

Heading into the weekend, most box office analysts predicted that New Line Cinema's highly-anticipated Stephen King adaptation It would have no trouble taking the top spot at the box office, but it ended up coming in much higher than anticipated. The movie ended up setting a new September box office record, earning $117.1 million, nearly three times higher than the previous record-holder, Hotel Transylvania 2, which took in $48.5 million back in 2015. This adaptation also continues to prove that there is in fact an audience for R-rated fare.
Box Office Mojo reports that the It movie debuted in 4,103 theaters, pulling in an impressive $28,552 per-screen average. The movie has already made more than three times its $35 million budget, and it's faring well overseas also with $62 million for a worldwide total of $179.1 million. This adaptation continues the trend of R-rated fare overperforming at the box office, although it didn't quite reach the opening »
Five years later and Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds still reign as one of Hollywood's most beloved couples. It's hard to believe that nearly half a decade has passed since the famous pair quietly said "I Do" at Boone Hall Plantation just outside of Charleston, South Carolina. And while the couple has tried to keep the biggest moments of their personal lives private, both Ryan and Blake have given fans plenty of reasons to cheer them on. In just the past 12 months alone, the couple's two children made their public debut when dad received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. One day later and the parents treated daughter James to a magical day at the Disneyland Resort. A few »
