Back in 1997, Liefeld sold a spec script titled "The Mark" for $2 million that attracted the attention of Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg. Will Smith was long attached to producing and starring in the project after Cruise and Spielberg departed but, after several years of active development, the script was shelved. See more »
