The Wedding Ringer Red Band Trailer Not Nearly as Funny as The Wedding Ringer Green Band Trailer

20 November 2014 2:52 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

I actually like raunchy R-rated comedies quite a bit, so please don't take this criticism as coming from someone who's offended.  I'm not.  I'm just not laughing.  I'd still go see The Wedding Ringer when it comes out in January, but it won't be based off this trailer that's for sure.  When I started this post, I hadn't actually seen anything from the film yet (including the earlier trailer) and this red band trailer on its own had me almost ready to write the whole thing off.  But then I went back and watched the green band trailer and actually laughed.  There, I saw a movie that had some jokes and a sense of character.  Here, all I see is every possible use of "fuck" at the marketing team's disposal, dumped into a trailer with little or no context. So I'm almost posting this as an experiment.  I'm including the »

The Wedding Ringer has debuted an outrageous red band trailer chocked full of new footage and R-rated language just in time for the holiday season.

Josh Gad stars as Doug Harris, a loveable but socially awkward groom-to-be with a problem: He has no best man. With less than two weeks to go until he marries the girl of his dreams (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting), Doug is referred to Jimmy Callahan (Kevin Hart), owner and CEO of Best Man, Inc., a company that provides flattering best men for socially challenged guys in need. What ensues is a hilarious wedding charade as they try to pull off the big con, and an unexpected budding bromance between Doug and his fake best man Jimmy.

The diverse supporting cast is rounded out by Affion Crockett, Jorge Garcia, Dan Gill, Corey Holcomb, Ken Howard, Jenifer Lewis and Cloris Leachman, who gets the trailer started in an unexpectedly hilarious and vulgar way. »

Watch: New Nsfw Red Band Trailer For 'The Wedding Ringer' Lets The F Bombs Fly

20 November 2014 9:56 AM, PST | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Watch out, it’s another wedding hijinx and hilarity movie. And of course this one is about a groom (Josh Gad) who needs a best man for his wedding because he basically has no bffs. So he goes to Kevin Hart, who just happens to be in the fake best man business. Perfect. While it’s “strictly a business relationship,” you know these two are gonna be bromantic besties by the end of the film. Directed by Jeremy Garelick, the filmmaker behind Vince Vaughn’s underrated dramedy "The Break-Up," maybe there’s mild hope for this one to be more than just January comedy filler. The movie also stars Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Ken Howard, Cloris Leachman, Jenifer Lewis, Mimi Rogers, and Olivia Thirlby. Here’s the official synopsis: Doug Harris (Josh Gad) is a loveable but socially awkward groom-to-be with a problem: he has no best man. Eliza Dooley has no real friends. And frankly, it’s not hard to figure out why.

In ABC’s new comedy Selfie, Eliza (Doctor Who’s Karen Gillan) is a narcissistic, social media-obsessed pharmaceutical sales rep, who considers her present-day Insta-fame redemption for those awkward, friendless teenage years.

But as Eliza observes in the first few minutes of Tuesday’s premiere, “Being friended is not the same thing as having friends.” It’s a lesson she learns the hard way, after she tosses her cookies twice en route to a business trip — upon learning that her co-worker boyfriend is, in fact, »

Kevin Hart Is The Best Man In ‘The Wedding Ringer’ Trailer

25 September 2014 11:35 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

The latest trailer for upcoming comedy The Wedding Ringer is now out to view and comes with a surprising amount of laughs. Starring Kevin Hart and Josh Gad, it sees a best man for hire (Hart) who attends weddings to make the groom look better. His services are employed by Gad, who needs an entire entourage to fill out the roles of his groomsmen ready for his wedding in 2 weeks. Of course there are rules which include not becoming friends, but we’re sure such rules are there to be broken, as well as Gad learning a little about himself through this unreal experience.

Judging by the trailer, which hopefully isn’t all the best bits, this looks like a well balanced farce with enough funny lines and slapstick humour too. However, we’re also sure that the plot will develop in a very predictable way.

Kevin Hart Screams in Hebrew in the New Trailer for 'The Wedding Ringer'

25 September 2014 1:30 PM, PDT | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

It seems like there is no stopping Kevin Hart. He already has three movies released this year, and he is in Top Five by Chris Rock, which comes out later this year after a very strong premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Then, in January, we get The Wedding Ringer. In typical January fashion, this looks like a freight train to the face, and I mean that in a bad way. Hart plays a man who hires himself out to be best man at guys' weddings because they have no actual friends. He is hired by Josh Gad to not only be his best man but to help him find all seven of his groomsmen. Now, I am just taking a stab in the dark here, but I am guessing Hart and Gad end up being best friends by the end. It seems like a radical idea, but I take risks, »

Kevin Hart Is a Best Man for Hire in New The Wedding Ringer Trailer

25 September 2014 10:53 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Sony Pictures has released a new The Wedding Ringer trailer for director Jeremy Garelick’s upcoming comedy.  The story revolves around an introverted yet successful tech entrepreneur (Josh Gad) who hires the owner of The Best Man Inc. (Kevin Hart) to be the perfect best man, assemble fake groomsmen, and throw a killer wedding party.  The movie has a lot going for it—a promising comedic duo, a fun premise, and a heartfelt friendship story at its center—and this trailer is quite funny.  I imagine this will be a sizable hit in the empty January moviegoing landscape, and it’s certainly nice to see Lost alum Jorge Garcia onscreen again. Watch the new The Wedding Ringer trailer after the jump along with a few new images.  The film also stars Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Ken Howard, Olivia Thirlby, Cloris Leachman, Jenifer Lewis, and Mimi RogersThe Wedding Ringer opens in theaters on January 16, 2015. ‘Think Like a Man Too’ can’t do what it asks of its characters: commit

Think Like a Man Too

Written by Keith Merryman and David A. Newman

Directed by Tim Story

USA, 2014

The opening lines of Kevin Hart’s voiceover wax philosophical on the history of Las Vegas, but they’re less an introduction to Think Like a Man Too so much as a restatement of what is obvious to anyone in the audience: this is Kevin Hart’s movie. The massively popular comedian’s ubiquity is no secret (see: Hart discussing his pro wrestling reawakening with Jon Stewart) and his presence in Tim Story’s 2012 half-adaptation of Steve Harvey’s sex advice book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man all but guaranteed his return for any sequel.

But, beyond the serious box office legs of the original, why a sequel? Think Like a Man begins with Hart’s same overly-enthusiastic narration, though the original sports a quick-witted dissection of monogamy and »

Film Review: Hilarious, Fun Date Movie ‘Think Like a Man Too’

20 June 2014 8:20 AM, PDT | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – Date night at the movies has a new alternative to the summer sci-fi and animation with “Think Like a Man Too.” The sequel to the popular first film has a burst of creative juice from an energetic cast, and dares to do something different with the bachelor party in Las Vegas theme.

Rating: 3.5/5.0

What distinguishes the film is that the women – putting on their own bachelorette event in Las Vegas – in many ways outdo the guys. Part of the is due to the very funny Wendi Covey-McLendon (the grossed out Mom in “Bridesmaids”) who gets her freak on and steals every scene. But also, there is the super-hot personality of Kevin Hart, in collaboration with director Tim Story, who keeps the proceedings loose and entertaining. From the beginning to the end, with Hart and Story the conductors, the guys and gals of “Think Like a Man Too” just want to have fun. »

Kevin Hart Is Paid To Be Josh Gad’s Best Man In The Wedding Ringer Trailer

20 June 2014 7:36 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Few comedians currently have the sway of Kevin Hart, who has recently delivered a string of huge hits like Think Like a ManKevin Hart: Let Me ExplainRide Along and About Last Night. And with Think Like A Man Too actually outpacing both its predecessor and surprise smash Ride Along in pre-sales going into the weekend, it’s a safe bet that Hart isn’t giving up his newly claimed throne as king of comedy quite yet. Now, we’ve got our first look at another Hart vehicle - The Wedding Ringer, in which he stars with Josh Gad.

The first trailer, though predictable, features some pretty funny jokes – “It looks like the cast of Goonies grew up and became rapists,” says Gad’s character of a group of bums that Hart’s best-man-for-hire wheels out as potential groomsmen. It looks like Hart has another hit on his hands, »
