Moviefone's Top DVD of the Week
What's It About? This little Texan indie is part romance and part dramatic thriller. Casey Affleck, Rooney Mara, and Ben Foster headline this top-notch cast about a man on the run, the woman he loves, and the sheriff who tries to get between them. (Not in a romantic way, just, you know, because he's a man of the law and Affleck's character broke out of jail.)
Why We're In: It's a slow and sweet Sundance favorite, and the Texas weather looks a whole lot hotter than the snow most of us are dealing with every day.

Any movie that's going to have Greek gods and half-breeds in it is going to need some impressive special effects work to back up the creatures. That applied for "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters," the second movie in the fantasy franchise.
With the Logan Lerman movie about to hit Blu-ray and DVD this week, MTV Movies Blog has an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at what went into bringing the character Tyson to life.
As anyone who has seen the movie knows, Tyson is a cyclops, and putting one eye on an actor is harder than you might expect.
Check out our exclusive look at a behind-the-scenes featurette from the "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" Blu-ray after the jump!
"Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" hits Blu-ray and DVD on December 17.

The battlefield never looked so good! Brad Pitt looks like he just returned from the battlefield. And for good reason. The 49-year-old star, along with Shia Labeouf and his Fury costars, posed for a picture snapped by the film's director, David Ayers. The men, including Kevin Vance, Jon Bernthal, and Logan Lerman, are dressed in their army uniforms and all have somewhat serious expressions as they wrap their arms around each other. "Day 56," Ayers captioned the twitpic, which he added on Friday, Dec. 13. Ayers has been releasing a behind-the-scenes snapshot every day from the upcoming WWII drama. As a big fan of World War II movies, I'm incredibly excited for David Ayer's new film Fury. This think looks and sounds like it's going to be awesome! The film is currently in production, and the director has posted a ton of mages from the movie on his Twitter feed. They feature the cast of the film and a lot of cool looks shots of tanks!
The story is set at the very end of World War II, in April 1945. "As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany. »

Production continues in London on director David Ayer’s WWII tank film Fury, and the filmmaker has been sharing an image from the set for each day of filming. The story takes place in 1945 as the Nazi regime is in collapse and revolves around the five-man crew of an American tank called “Fury” that battles a desperate German army. Ayer’s original screenplay sparked a bidding war among studios earlier this year, and Jon Bernthal recently described the film as “one of the darkest war movies ever made.” Brad Pitt leads a cast that includes Bernthal, Shia Labeouf, Michael Pena, and Logan Lerman, and all can be glimpsed in this new collection of set images, which also includes looks at how Ayer is filming the tank battle sequences. Women lead movie website popularity chart, outranking top male actors as report highlights Hollywood's gender inequality
• News: Women successful yet sidelined in writing and directing
• Blog: Why are there so few female film-makers?
Jennifer Lawrence and Chloë Grace Moretz have been named by IMDb as the most popular actors in the world, a day after the New York Film Academy published new evidence of widening gender inequality in Hollywood.
Based on page views by the IMDb's 160 million users, Lawrence emerged as the most popular star, thanks largely to her best actress Oscar win in March for Silver Linings Playbook and her leading role in the dystopian blockbuster The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Sixteen-year-old Moretz has appeared in two big movies this year, the comic-book sequel Kick Ass 2 and the horror remake Carrie.

★★★☆☆Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013) is a monster of a movie in all senses of the word. The latest instalment in what looks like fast becoming the next big franchise series delivers action and noise aplenty, but perhaps at the cost of anything of real depth. Directed by (the appropriately named) Thor Freudenthal and starring Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, and Brandon T. Jackson, this follow-up to the less than warmly received Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief (2010), is pretty much more of the same. Percy Jackson (Lerman), the half-human son of the god Poseidon, finds himself in trouble once again.

What’s it take to outrace the end of the world? Well, if the end of the world happens to come in the form of a world-destroying flood, then building your own giant boat will sure help. That’s what Russell Crowe’s Noah character does in Darren Aronofsky’s “Noah”. It’s supposedly based on a bestselling book or sumthin’. I dunno, I don’t read, cause reading’s hard. Check out four new images from the film. I wonder what Russell’s doing running in the rain with his mouth open? Trying to catch water, perhaps? Maybe he’s thirsty… The Biblical Noah suffers visions of an apocalyptic deluge and takes measures to protect his family from the coming flood. Starring Russell Crowe, Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman, Anthony Hopkins, Sami Gayle, Douglas Booth, Mark Margolis, Kevin Durand, Dakota Goyo, and Ray Winstone. The rain falls next »
The waters will rise, and God will unleash his furious vengeance next spring....at least at a multiplex near you. Darren Aronofsky is bringing "Noah" to the big screen and numerous (slightly varying) international trailers have surfaced in the past few weeks. And today, a few more images have washed ashore for the Biblical epic. The new pics center on Russell Crowe's titular Noah and Emma Watson's Ila, who plays the love interest of Shem (Logan Lerman), Noah's son. But if the trailers are anything to go by (though they could just be putting a famous face into the marketing) her role is a bit more central to the story, but we'll have to wait and see. Meanwhile, the new pics also show a brief bit of action, and Jennifer Connelly as Noah's very understanding wife. The film will welcome audiences in pairs on March 28, 2014.
