All we know about Harry Lennix's character in Man Of Steel is that he plays General Swanwick. He does however, reveal that he has a "good role" in the movie and that he is a huge Supes fan, sounding very excited to be a part of Snyder's reboot.. Q: And I know you can’t say much on “Man of Steel” but how exciting was it to get that role? Hl: Oh man! “Man of Steel” is going to be a very big deal when it comes out in Christmas of 2013. Harry Lennix to play Henry IV

5 May 2012 9:28 AM, PDT | Shadowlocked | See recent Shadowlocked news »

In a recent interview, actor Harry Lennix revealed that:

“Right now I’m doing what I think is the first black Shakespeare film ever done, which is called “H4”. It’s a reconfiguration using Shakespeare’s language of “Henry IV Part I and Part II”. I play Henry IV in it along with an estimable cast including Keith David, Angus Macfadyen from “Braveheart”, we have a number of young and talented actors.”

Harry Lennix also said that he's producing the film.

On IMDb, Michael Dorn is listed as playing the part of Henry IV, but Shakespeare fansite Bardfilm clarifies:

Michael Dorn will not be playing Henry IV in the finished version of the film. Scheduling conflicts prevent him from being available for the reshoots. But Harry Lennix, who played Aaron (and played him brilliantly) in Julie Taymor’s Titus, will take over the role.”

Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel to have Edgy Dark Knight Feel

12 April 2012 12:30 PM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

I think it's safe to say that from the very beginning we knew the new Superman movie that Zack Snyder is directing was going to have a darker tone and edgier feel. The studio saw it work for Batman, so why not do the same thing for Superman?

Actor Dylan Sprayberry, who plays a young teenage Clark Kent in the film, has completed shooting his scenes in Illinois and British Columbia. Here's what he had to say about the movie in a recent interview when he was asked what people will love about the film...

When Zack [Snyder] and I were talking about it the first time, he was saying how Superman, they want to give it a more edgy feel like The Dark Knight but also make it more realistic and emotional so it's not just the all-American superhero that saves everyone. He has dilemmas and love and struggles throughout the whole movie, »

Zack Snyder Making Man Of Steel “Edgy” Like The Dark Knight

11 April 2012 9:50 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Today in Totally Unsurprising News, we've learned that director Zack Snyder has an edgier Superman planned for the reboot Man of Steel.  The news isn't much of a shock since Snyder doesn't make quiet, subtle pictures, and his ability to deliver something "edgy" was probably part of the reason why Warner Bros. and producer Christopher Nolan hired him in the first place. In a recent interview, actor Dylan Sprayberry, who plays the young Clark Kent, talked about what Snyder has envisioned for the Man of Tomorrow's new flight to the big screen.  Hit the jump for details.  Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Harry Lennix, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Richard Schiff, and Russell Crowe.  The film opens June 14, 2013. Speaking to Clevver TV, Sprayberry mentioned how his first meeting with Snyder provided an idea of what the director was »

Dylan Sprayberry, the actor who plays a young Clark Kent in Zack Snyder’s forthcoming Superman reboot movie Man of Steel, claims the blockbuster has been inspired by the work of executive producer Chris Nolan on the Batman franchise.

When asked by ClevverTV about what people can expect to love about Snyder’s film, he said;

“when Zack [Snyder] and I were talking about it the first time, he was saying how Superman, they want to give it a more edgy feel like ‘The Dark Knight’ but also make it more realistic and emotional so it’s not just the all-american superhero that saves everyone. He has dilemmas and love and struggles throughout the whole movie, especially when he’s a kid.”

Sprayberry also revealed he has just completed his time on the film;

The Official Man of Steel Banner Revealed

30 March 2012 6:33 AM, PDT | Movie Cultists | See recent Movie Cultists news »

Warner Bros has revealed the banner for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot and it’s – wait for it – a big, red ‘S.’ I know. You’re totally stunned, right?

The iconic hero of DC Comics might be taking a slightly new direction this time around, complete with a redesigned costume and a Clark Kent that might not wear glasses, but you just don’t mess with certain things in the Superman universe so it makes perfect sense that the familiar symbol is being used in the promo material for Man of Steel.

Rather than stick with a plane-jane ‘S,’ the creative team has put a little art into the shape, with something that almost looks like a banner etched into the main body of the letter. We haven’t gotten a really good look at the symbol being worn by Henry Cavill in the movie, but I hope it has »

Superman Gets an Official, New-ish Logo for his Man of Steel Reboot

29 March 2012 6:53 PM, PDT | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Warner Bros. has released the official logo for the Big Blue Boy Scout to debut with in his 2013 adventures. Check it out below. I think it’s pretty cool myself. New-ish, but still recognizable as to who it belongs to. It certainly looks more … organic. Maybe not organic. Slicker and with more contours? Some such. Anyways, approve or disapprove? Zack Snyder’s film, a reboot of the D.C. Comics hero, stars Henry Cavill as a 20-something journalist wondering the world in search of his place in life, eventually leading him to suit up as the Man of Steel in order to save the planet from a couple of refugees from his old homeworld. It co-stars Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Christopher Meloni, Antje Traue, Harry Lennix, Ayelet Zurer, and won’t be due until 2013, or June 14, 2013 to be more specific. Warner Bros. Reveals Man Of Steel Banner

29 March 2012 4:59 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Thus far, we’ve only seen one official image from Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot Man of Steel. That fact has now changed, as Warner Bros. has launched the film’s official Facebook page and unveiled the banner for the superhero pic. I’d talk about the color, but I’m color blind (really), though I do like the feel and texture of the “S”. The title is nicely made of, well, steel, and the whole thing is slightly reminiscent of Christopher Nolan’s title treatments for his Batman trilogy. This makes sense, as Nolan is a producer on Man of Steel and was integral in getting the film off the ground and choosing Snyder to direct. Also, Warner Bros. is behind both franchises, so it would be monetarily sensible to market Man of Steel as similar to Nolan's incredibly successful series. Hit the jump to check out the banner. »

Man Of Steel Stars Henry Cavill & Russell Crowe Had Scuba Training

Thanks to Superman: Man of Steel (2013) for making us aware of Below H2O Scuba Diving's new photos with Russell Crowe and Henry Cavill. The scuba company labeled this as training for the Superman movie, but didn't add any information outside of that so we're left guessing. So, what type of scene would need Jor-El and Kal-El to be underwater? I would guess this will be some type of interaction in Superman's home, the Fortress of Solitude. Maybe the water will give the scene a slow-motion alien like effect on the screen? Man Of Steel, starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne with Christopher Meloni and Harry Lennix, the reboot is slated for theaters June 14th, 2013! »
