The Merc Raises A Glass To Betty White With New Deadpool-Themed Photo

At 96 years young, Betty White is a true living legend. And that’s not a phrase we use lightly.

The Golden Girls actress has been a cornerstone of the entertainment industry for almost a century, and in honor of that unprecedented success, the Merc With a Mouth has raised a glass to Betty White on this, her 96th birthday.

Over on Twitter, the official Deadpool account Tweeted out a photo (with the caption: “Happy Birthday to the one and only @BettyMWhite. Cheers to another year of ‘Tinis and Weenies!”) of Wade Wilson suited up and doing what he does best: celebrating the life and legacy of Betty White. It’s by no means the first time that Reynolds has honored the pop culture icon, as fans will know that the Merc’s twin katanas are named “Bea” and “Arthur” after Beatrice Arthur, another member of the Golden Girls ensemble. We’re sensing a pattern here…

‘John Wick’ TV Series Confirmed

John Wick is one of those films that surprised audiences with just how good it was. Before the release, actor Keanu Reeves’ career had been on somewhat of a downward trajectory after a myriad of his films bombed at the box office. Then John Wick saved it, bringing Keanu back into the spotlight, and back into our hearts along with it. It wasn’t just Keanu that made the film however, it was the fictional world dreamt-up by writer Derek Kolstad; a world populated by secret assassins who trade in gold coins and have their own dedicated chain of hotels – The Continental. As the films have been so popular, and with the forthcoming John Wick: Chapter Three being the final film, Lionsgate and Starz are now working together to bring a television show based on the hotel to small screens worldwide.

The series will be set within the John Wick

John Wick spin-off TV series The Continental picked up by Starz

Fans of the John Wick franchise have more to look forward to than John Wick: Chapter 3 and the potential female-led spin-off Ballerina. Last year Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the first film and directed the second, revealed plans for a television spin-off called The Continental and now it has found a home at Starz.

Starz President & CEO Chris Albrecht announced at the Television Critics Association today that it has picked up the series, developing it with Lionsgate. The Continental will focus on the exclusive Continental Hotel seen in the films that serves as a neutral refuge for the world’s assassins and high class criminals. Rather than being set in New York City, the series will instead take place in Los Angeles.

“This series is truly unlike anything else on TV,” said Albrecht. “The Continental promises to include the thunderous fight sequences and intensely staged shootouts between professional assassins and their

The badass action film franchise John Wick is now in active development as a TV series and it's being produced by Starz. Sounds good to me! The series will be written by Chris Collins (Sons of Anarchy, The Wire, Man in the High Castle) and he will serve as showrunner.

Mutant Updates: ‘Deadpool 2’ moves forward, ‘The New Mutants’ moves to 2019 & ‘Gambit’ loses another director

Today’s news is something of a mixed bag if you are a fan of the X-Men franchise. While there are plenty of titles on the horizon, we may have to wait a little longer than we initially anticipated to welcome in new entries in the expanding X-verse.

One film we won’t have to wait longer for is the Untitled Deadpool Sequel. The David Leitch-directed sequel is moving its release from June 1st to May 18th, 2018, meaning we’ll all be able to catch up with our favourite Merc with a Mouth a whole two weeks earlier than planned. Plot details are thin on the ground for the hotly anticipated sequel, but we do know that Ryan Reynolds will be back in the red and black get-up, joined by returning cast mates Morena Baccharin, Brianna Hildebrand and T.J. Miller as well as new additions Josh Brolin and Zazie

Ryan Reynolds Honors Deadpool 2’s Release Date Change With Awesome New Pic

“I’m gonna’ do this the old-fashioned way: with two swords and maximum effort.”

In case you missed today’s announcement, Deadpool 2 will be with us earlier than expected – two whole weeks early, as Fox’s R-rated sequel has officially relocated to May 18th. That’s good news for fans of the Merc, then, but it comes at the expense of The New Mutants and Gambit, both of which have slipped into 2019. Hell, the latter is once again in search of a director after losing Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) to scheduling conflicts.

However that may be, David Leitch’s Deadpool 2 has become the priority for 20th Century Fox, who will soon be competing against Marvel (Avengers: Infinity War) and Lucasfilm (Solo: A Star Wars Story) for box office supremacy. On the ground level, though, is Ryan Reynolds, and at least based on the actor’s latest Tweet, he

Fox Moves ‘Deadpool 2’ Forward Two Weeks, Pushes Back ‘New Mutants’ and ‘Gambit’

Fox Moves ‘Deadpool 2’ Forward Two Weeks, Pushes Back ‘New Mutants’ and ‘Gambit’
Fox has moved the release of Ryan Reynolds’ “Deadpool 2” forward by two weeks to May 18, when it will open a week ahead of Disney-Lucasfilm’s “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

The action-comedy sequel will open against against Sony’s horror film “Slender Man.” Fox’s move leaves the June 1 date without a film opening.

The move comes less than a month after Disney agreed to buy Fox’s entertainment assets, including the movie studio. “Solo” stars Alden Ehrenreich in an origin story that’s been directed first by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who were replaced last summer by Ron Howard.

Fox also announced Thursday that it’s moving its X-Men movie “New Mutants” back by 10 months from April 13 to Feb. 22, 2019. “Mutants” stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, and Charlie Heaton,

Additionally, Fox has decided to move Channing Tatum’s “Gambit” back by four months from Feb. 14, 2019, to June 7, 2019. Gore Verbinski exited Thursday and has not

Valiant Comics' Bloodshot Movie Targets Vin Diesel

Sony Pictures has found their leading man for the studio's Bloodshot comic book adaptation, with Vin Diesel entering talks to star in the movie. Sony announced in September 2016 that they are working on a Valiant Comics movie universe which will span five movies, two Bloodshot movies, and two Harbinger movies, concluding with a Harbinger Wars event movie. There has been no indication as to whether Bloodshot or Harbinger will actually move forward first, but since Bloodshot has found its leading man, it wouldn't be surprising if this project starts production soon.

There was a report back in August that Dave Bautista was eyed for Eternal Warrior in this new Valiant Comics universe, while Jared Leto was being eyed to play Bloodshot. While the Jared Leto report was not confirmed, now the studio is going in another direction with Vin Diesel coming aboard to play Bloodshot. This new report also claims

‘Deadpool 2’ Not Expected to Recast T.J. Miller Following Sexual Abuse Allegations

‘Deadpool 2’ Not Expected to Recast T.J. Miller Following Sexual Abuse Allegations
“Deadpool 2” won’t be following in the footsteps of “All the Money in the World” and removing an actor accused of sexual misconduct. Lauren Shuler Donner, who has produced all the “X-Men” movies to date, has told Rotten Tomatoes that the Ryan Reynolds-starring superhero film is currently in its final editing stage and will probably not be removing T.J. Miller from the picture. The actor and comedian plays Wade Wilson’s foul-mouthed best friend and bar owner Weasel in the superhero franchise.

Deadpool 2 Title Confirmed?

Deadpool 2 Title Confirmed?
It looks like we may finally know the actual title for Deadpool 2. In recent weeks, Fox and Ryan Reynolds have officially started the early marketing efforts for the highly-anticipated sequel, which doesn't currently have an official title. At least maybe not one that's been announced. However, a post that Reynolds recently shared for the movie may have revealed the actual title for Deadpool 2 and most of us just didn't realize it.

Right as the Disney/Fox merger was taking place, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to share the latest poster for the untitled (or maybe not untitled) Deadpool sequel. The poster is a take on Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam, one of the most famous and recognizable paintings in the world. Though, this version of it features Deadpool and Cable. There's a lot going on, with Wade putting the tip of his finger in Cable's gun and the time portal opening up,

Deadpool 2 Title Revealed?

It’s rather fitting that the Deadpool 2 marketing campaign is as cheeky and unpredictable as its titular lead.

From Thanksgiving treats to Bob Ross-inspired trailers (“and remember, hugs and drugs”), the Powers That Be have wholeheartedly embraced the Merc’s irreverent style, which, in turn, has allowed Ryan Reynolds to do what he does best: serve up funny and often deadpan tweets to his legions of followers. And the actor’s latest post certainly honored that tradition.

Via Twitter, Reynolds unveiled a striking piece of artwork earlier this week that imagined Deadpool and Cable in the Creation of Adam, Michelangelo’s biblical painting that’s etched into the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. But this is not the Vatican City. And let’s face it: neither Wade Wilson nor Nathan Summers are terribly religious. Instead, the tongue-in-cheek promo is designed to drum up excitement for the second coming, as

10 Best Uses of Music in Movies in 2017

10 Best Uses of Music in Movies in 2017
Music and film formed a potent partnership over the past 12 months, whether it was Hans Zimmer’s jarring score for Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk,” which served as another character in providing the on-screen tension, or the choreographed mayhem of Edgar Wright’s “Baby Driver” and David Leitch’s “Atomic Blonde,” or Iggy Pop’s sepulchral presence in Oneohtrix Point Never’s stunning soundtrack for the Safdies’ “Good Time.”

Here is a countdown of the individual songs — some original, others re-contextualized — which provided those magic cinematic moments where sound and vision perfectly meshed to become seamlessly part of a greater whole.

1. The Damned, “Neat Neat Neat” (“Baby Driver”): Wright’s heist movie re-genrefication is a feature-length music video choreographed to the nines with a decibel-raising soundtrack of ‘70s and ‘80s new wave, none better than this revved-up speed-punk blaring in star Ansel Elgort’s ubiquitous headphones as he gets set to put pedal to the metal. “Wait
