Marvel Entertainment is turning to a familiar hand to guide its forthcoming ABC series “The Inhumans.” Scott Buck, who is already executive producer and showrunner for Netflix’s upcoming Marvel series “Iron Fist,” will serve in the same role on “The Inhumans.”

ABC announced last month that it had given a greenlight to “The Inhumans” under a unique distribution and financing deal that will see the first two episodes premiere in IMAX theaters. Those episodes are slated to later air on ABC, with subsequent episodes premiering on the broadcast network.

“The Inhumans” will premiere in theaters in September, 2017, then air on ABC that fall. The series, based on characters created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for Marvel Comics in 1965, tells the story of a race of superpowered beings. It is produced by Marvel and ABC Studios, and will be ABC’s third Marvel series, following “Agents of Shield” and “Agent Carter.”

Marvel Studios have confirmed their "Ant-Man" feature film sequel is "Ant-Man and the Wasp", showcasing characters 'Scott Lang' (Paul Rudd) and 'Hope van Dyne' (Evangeline Lilly), to be released July 6, 2018:

On a budget of $130 million, the Domestic (North American) box office earnings of the Buena Vista-distributed, PG-13 feature "Ant-Man", earned $180,202,163.

Foreign (international) box office earned $339,109,802.

The world-wide total of "Ant-Man" is currently $519,311,965.

"I was raised by two superheroes," said Lilly about 'Hope Van Dyne' aka 'The Wasp', "so, I'm a pretty screwed up human being.

"I am also fairly capable, strong, and kick-ass, which is wonderful to play, but the most fun to play is just how messed up she was from being raised by two superheroes.

"And the clear message sent by name is that I'm not a big fan of my father and so I took my mother's name."

5 December 2016 7:35 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Yesterday fans finally got to see the first trailer for the highly-anticipated superhero sequel Guardians of the Galaxy 2. While we'll probably have to wait quite some time for the next batch of footage, star Michael Rooker revealed a new photo that showcases the much larger mohawk his character Yondu will be sporting in the sequel. It seems that this character is getting closer and closer to his iconic look from the Marvel Comics.

The actor debuted this new photo on Facebook earlier today. We've previously seen Yondu's mohawk in another photo that debuted on Marvel's Instagram back in August. Not much has been revealed about Yondu's return yet, but with the May 5, 2017 release date getting closer and closer, we may find out more about soon. We've previously heard that Yondu will be part of the Guardians team, since he is no longer a member of the Ravagers.

What Kaecilius' Zealots Almost Looked Like in Doctor Strange

28 November 2016 7:37 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Earlier today, we reported that Marvel's Phase 3 adventure Doctor Strange passed the $600 million worldwide box office milestone, in its fourth frame in theaters. Now we have new concept art that features an unused design of the religious zealots that follow the villain Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen). This design was discarded at some point during the production process, since those who followed Kaecilius looked nothing like this in the finished film.

Comic Book Movie came across this concept art. They first posited it might be for Mistriss of Death rumored to be featured in Avengers: Infinity War. That story was updated, explaining that it's actually an unused design from Doctor Strange. It hasn't been revealed where this image came from, or who drew it.

From Marvel Studios comes Doctor Strange, the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. »

Ed Catto’s 2016 Holiday Gift Guide

28 November 2016 5:00 AM, PST | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

I have wonderful Yuletide memories. Like every young boy, I quickly learned that the true meaning of the Holiday Season was… getting more stuff. And being the greedy little monster I was, (and, I guess, I remain) I also learned that I could extend that wonderful feeling of “Christmas Acquisition” through books. More than a toy, or apparel or certainly candy, the enjoyment of a book would linger well past the twelve days of Christmas.

As a comics fan back in the day, actual books about comics were few and far between. One that did make it onto the traditional bookstore shelves was Jules Feiffer’s The Great Comic Book Heroes. Soon after Superman: From the 30’s to the 70’s was a one of those “big wow” books about comics that was gifted to me. It was so massively thick that I couldn’t imagine anyone would be able »

Stan Lee’s 15 Greatest Marvel Movie Cameos

27 November 2016 10:00 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Few creators are as synonymous with their work as Stan Lee. Starting with the 1980s Incredible Hulk cartoon series which he narrated, Lee has repeatedly shown up in adaptations of characters he helped bring to life. In recent years, he’s even turned up in movies based on characters he had nothing to do with – like Deadpool and Guardians of the Galaxy. Such is Lee’s impact and popularity that anything that Marvel produces is inextricably tied to him.

That’s probably why it just doesn’t feel like a proper Marvel movie unless Stan Lee turns up for a swift cameo. Over the last two decades (though his first live-action cameo actually came in 1989’s Trial of the Incredible Hulk), Lee has exceeded even Alfred Hitchcock in turning the creator cameo into an artform. He’s been inserted for comic relief, for dramatic emphasis, for a fourth-wall breaking joke »

In the wake of DC Entertainment introducing 'Aquaman' in a stand-alone feature, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada has confirmed that screen rights to Marvel Comics' "Namor the Sub-Mariner", the 'Atlantean' comic book anti-hero, will be returning to Marvel:

"I can't speak for the studios," said Quesada about Disney recovering screen rights to Namor from Universal.

"But as far as I know, yeah we do (have screen rights). It’s not at Fox, it’s not at Sony...Yeah."

"Yes," confirmed Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige about Marvel controlling screen rights to Namor, "but it’s slightly more complicated than that."

"Let’s put it this way – there are entanglements that make it less easy.

"There are older contracts that still involve other parties that means we need to work things out before we move forward on it.
