Replaced in Our Gang by Robert Blake
Chosen for his Our Gang role because of his resemblance to Our Gang lead star George 'Spanky' McFarland, and often portrayed Spanky's younger brother in the series.
His childhood best friend was his on-screen co-star/best friend 'Billie 'Buckwheat' Thomas' (both of their characters share the trade "O-tay!" catchphrase, though Porky was the first to use it, in Pay As You Exit (1936)).
After his movie career he became a school teacher in Colorado for awhile then moved to Minnesota in order to be closer to his only son.
Was replaced by Robert Blake because he became thinner growing up and the producers wanted "Porky" to be a chunky kid.
Among the films Mr. Lee appeared in were "Bored of Education" which won the Oscar for best one-reel short subject in 1937.
