An Unnecessarily In-Depth Analysis of The Magnificent Seven Trailer

19 July 2016 10:46 AM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

The remake of a remake.Don’t worry, I counted. There‘s seven.

Westerns always put an extra giddy-up in my canter. It’s easily the most enjoyable genre of film for me. I think it has something to do with manly men doing manly men things. You know, like twirling a six-shooter around the shooting finger and placing it perfectly in its holster without even looking. I can’t even put my phone in my pocket without dropping it at least four times a day, easy. The Magnificent Seven — based on the 1960 film of the same name which was based on Seven Samurai — just had its second trailer released, which is of the more official variety and less the teaser kind. Take a little break from reading and watch it in all its magnificence:

Magnificent Seven Trailer #2 Gets Explosive with Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt

Back in April, just after CinemaCon, Sony Pictures debuted the first trailer for their highly-anticipated remake of The Magnificent Seven, which is set to hit theaters on September 23. While we get ready for this fall release, which brings a classic story back to life on the big screen with a cast chocked full of today's biggest stars, Sony has debuted a second trailer, along with a new international trailer and a poster. As you can see from the footage, this iconic story has been revamped for the 21st Century while still sticking to its classic roots. And it's quite explosive.

Second Trailer for Antoine Fuqua's 'The Magnificent Seven' Remake

18 July 2016 9:08 AM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"What a bunch of misfits we are." Sony Pictures has unveiled the second official, full theatrical trailer for The Magnificent Seven, Antoine Fuqua's remake of the action western of the same name (which was originally a reinvention of Kurosawa's Seven Samurai). The new "seven" who come together to defend a town are: Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Martin Sensmeier. The villain is played by Peter Sarsgaard; also featuring Haley Bennett, Vinnie Jones and Cam Gigandet. The first teaser trailer was actually pretty good, and this new trailer ups the ante with plenty of wild west action and sly glances from nearly the entire cast. I also dig the introductions to each of the new seven. Feels weird to say, but this doesn't look so bad. Fire this up! The Magnificent Seven Come Knocking In New Trailer For Western Redo

18 July 2016 8:30 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Rose Creek beckons, ladies and gentlemen, and in today’s rip-roaring new trailer for Sony’s reboot of The Magnificent SevenAntoine Fuqua’s crew of gunslingers go to work.

Called upon when Rose Creek comes under threat from Peter Sarsgaard’s sadistic maniac and his bunch of thugs, the residents of that dusty old town – Haley Bennett’s grieving widow included – decide to fight fire with fire, recruiting Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and their crew of fellow sharpshooters.

Those familiar with John Sturges’ timeless classic, or indeed Akira Kurosawa’s seminal Seven Samurai, will have a fair understanding of what comes next, The Magnificent Seven stage an old-fashioned standoff with Sarsgaard’s goons, and once the action gets going – played against a cover of “The House Of The Rising Sun” – it’s hard not to become sucked up in the fun.

Seek Righteousness in the Great New Trailer for The Magnificent Seven

18 July 2016 7:58 AM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

Today brings about a brand new look at the upcoming remake for The Magnificent Seven and it's a ridiculous amount of fun.  Come inside to watch the team come together in order to fight an army.

Most people know that Westerns have never been my genre of choice.  There are some great ones I enjoy for the stories they tell, but on the whole, I've never been into them.  That said, The Magnificent Seven remake just jumped up pretty damn high on my list of movies to watch this year, thanks to an incredible second trailer.

Beyond the heavy amount of action in this trailer, the key thing that stands out to me, is how much Fun it looks.  The cast seem to play off of each other well, making the motley crew seem like a band of brothers.  While we have to wait and see what the full movie does overall, »
