Letter: George Cole obituary

10 August 2015 11:16 AM, PDT | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

Now playing in L.A. and NYC is director James Kent’s Testament of Youth. The film is based on Vera Brittain’s World War I memoir of the same name and stars Alicia Vikander as Vera Brittain and Game of Thrones star Kit Harington as her fiancé, Roland Leighton. As the film progresses, you see how the onset of war shatters the characters’ youthful dreams and demolishes an entire generation. It’s a powerful look at the First World War and I recommend checking it out when you can. Testament of Youth also stars Taron EgertonEmily Watson, Hayley AtwellColin Morgan, Joanna ScanlanAlexandra RoachJonathan BaileyAnna ChancellorNicholas Le PrevostNicholas FarrellDominic West and Miranda Richardson. For more on the film, watch the trailer. The other day, I landed an exclusive video interview with Kit Harington. He talked about making Testament of Youth, how the project evolved, »

Testament Of Youth Trailer Starring Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harrington

23 April 2015 2:30 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Now that the film has already seen a release in the UK, it's time for Us audiences to get familiar with director James Kent’s new film Testament of Youth. The film is based on Vera Brittain’s First World War memoir of the same name and stars Alicia Vikander as Vera Brittain. Vikander is joined by Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington who plays her fiancé, Roland Leighton. I'm not familiar with the source material but this seems like a handsomely photographed period piece that's, as far as I can tell, competently executed on just about every level besides that as well. Check out the Us version of Testament of Youth Trailer below. The film also stars Taron EgertonEmily WatsonHayley AtwellColin MorganJoanna ScanlanAlexandra RoachJonathan BaileyAnna ChancellorNicholas Le PrevostNicholas FarrellDominic West and Miranda Richardson.
