Sometimes Lindsey Carlos Clarke was so angry with her late husband that she wanted to burn all his work, change her name and disappear. Instead, she opened a gallery and is consumed by keeping the legacy of his "dark genius" burning. "Bob was the most exciting man I ever met. He was wild, dangerous, sexy and out of control," she says, sitting in her immaculate white living room, with its one violet-painted wall, a perfect backdrop for his striking black-and-white photographs. Kate Moss, Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood and Australian star Holly Valance helped raise more than $992,000 (£620,000) at a charity fundraiser on Tuesday.

Geri Halliwell, model Yasmin Le Bon and Sarah, Duchess of York were also among the guests at the star-studded Marie Curie Cancer Care gala at Claridge's hotel in London.

Supermodel Moss took charge of the festivities when she stepped onstage to auction off Wood's painting of rocker Rod Stewart, pulling in $19,200 (£12,000) for the portrait. The blonde beauty was also seen borrowing a professional camera to snap photos of guests at the glitzy event.

A private meet-and-greet with Sir Elton John and a photoshoot with iconic British snapper David Bailey also went under the hammer for the cause. »

London, Mar 5: Stella McCartney has revealed that she is uncomfortable with the word "nanny" and prefers to address her as "a friend".

The fashion designer, whose children are all under the age of seven, had earlier spoken about feeling overwhelmed as a working mother and also about her guilt for not "being a mother 100 per cent".

The 40-year-old revealed she had both a house-keeper and a nanny to allow her to run her multi-million pound fashion empire preferred by the likes of Kate Moss, Yasmin Le Bon and Kate Winslet.

In music, film, art and fashion, the 1990s are now making a comeback. But is this driven by nostalgia or does it reflect a shift in the national mood?

Between the whitewashed walls of Visions Video Bar, a London club, a crush of brothel creepers and flannel shirts throws spry shapes in the air as Nas's NY State of Mind segues deftly into Camp Lo's Luchini. "Tune!" howls a boy in a peaked cap to his girlfriend with an undercut.

London in the 90s? Wrong. This is Dalston in east London last weekend.

For many of us, the 90s was a decade imbued with anti-fashion, grunge and naff hair, seemingly mercifully resistant to a revival. But with the return of "Madchester" stalwarts the Stone Roses, a proliferation of grunge on the catwalk and yet another sequel to American Pie, it seems that the 90s are making a return.
