His Ottawa home, Laurier House, was left to his wife Lady Zoe Laurier. When she died in 1921, she bequethed it to Liberal Party leader William Lyon Mackenzie King, Laurier's protege and future Prime Minister. Today, Laurier house is a popular tourist attraction in Ottawa.
