Paul Risker chats with Follow the Money writer Jeppe Gjervig Gram

“Back when we did Borgen everyone told us that it would not be possible to take boring Danish coalition politics and make it into a drama – it couldn’t be done” remembers series writer Jeppe Gjervig Gram. From the drama of Danish politics that was lauded by critics and audiences alike, Gram went onto the new challenge of corporate crime drama Follow the Money. Yet the creator and writer of Nordic Noir’s only white collar crime drama series acknowledges the importance of Borgen, that instilled in him a confidence by achieving that which was said to be impossible. “Somehow we managed to and inspired by that experience I felt that we could do it with finance as well.”

The second season continues shortly after the events of the first. While Gram transposes the setting of the major company »

Drg takes on sales of 'Veni Vidi Vici' starring Thomas Bo Larsen

3 April 2017 1:11 AM, PDT | ScreenDaily | See recent ScreenDaily news »

Mtg’s off-beat Nordic series set in the world of adult movies premiered at Miptv.

UK-based worldwide content distributor Drg has taken on sales of Nordic thriller Veni Vidi Vici, about a washed-up arthouse film director who gets caught up in the world of porn.

It is the latest Nordic series with international ambitions from Swedish production and distribution outfit Mtg Studios.

Both companies are owned by burgeoning digital entertainment company Modern Times Group (Mtg), but Mtg Studios does not automatically distribute its productions through Drg.

Its recent comedy series Swedish Dicks - co-starring Keanu Reeves and Peter Stormare - is being sold internationally by Lionsgate, for example.

In the 10-part series Veni Vidi Vici, Danish actor Thomas Bo Larsen stars as pretentious film director Karsten Daugaard who agrees to direct a porn movie after his latest arthouse romance flops at the box office.

The decision introduces Karsten to the murky world of adult entertainment and will »

‘Follow the Money: The Complete Season 2′ Review

31 March 2017 4:01 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

If there is one enemy that we can all understand, it is the bank. Holding our money, we trust them to treat it well, but in recent years we’ve seen that sometimes that isn’t the case. Follow the Money season 2 sets up a story revolving around banks, and while this could have been a mediocre tale, this series manages to take it to epic proportions instead.

While I’ve not seen the first season of the show, the initial recap does a good job of introducing the main characters and the lay of the land regarding as to where the story is. Mads Justesen (Thomas Bo Larsen) and the fraud squad stumble onto a major crime that at first seems to be about making money out of bankrupt businesses, but soon becomes a conspiracy aimed at taking out a much bigger victim.
