Discussions on for Prithviraj-Mohanlal film 'Lucifer'

Right from the time reports about the PrithvirajMohanlal project surfaced last year, fans have been waiting eagerly for more information on it. Lucifer was announced in September last year and it marks the directorial debut of Prithviraj. Mohanlal plays the lead role in the film, which will be scripted by Murali Gopy. Tovino Thomas-starrer 'Theevandi' goes on floors

The Tovino Thomas-starrer Theevandi has gone on floors amidst a lot of expectations. The film, directed by debut director Fellini, has been scripted by Vini Viswalal. Interestingly, he had also penned the script of Koothara, a hit film that had Mohanlal and Tovino Thomas playing the lead roles.

The actor had earlier announced through his social media page that the shooting of Theevandi would commence in November, and that it was always fun to work with friends. The film is being bankrolled by one of the leading production houses in Mollywood, August Cinemas.

Mohanlal preparing for new look in 'Odiyan'

The Mohanlal starrer Odiyan went on the floors some months ago and the team has completed two schedules already.

And now the film’s director Va Shrikumar Menon has announced the commencement for the third schedule. Confirming that the third schedule has begun, the director stated that Mohanlal would be joining the sets on December 5th.

His post reads: “odiyan 3rd schedule started yesterday night and have been shooting till early morning. Laletan will join in his cute new look on 5th of dec — shrikumar menon (@VA_Shrikumar) November 13, 2017.”

Vishal's director lashes out at reviewers

Villain, starring Mohanlal, Vishal, Hansika and others was released on October 27 and has gone on to receive many mixed reviews from audiences, critics and reviewers alike.

Mohanlal’s 'Villain' takes record opening

Mohanlal starrer Villain took a historical opening on October 27 with its first-day box office collection standing at Rs. 4.91 crores.

Incidentally, the first-day collection of the Mammootty starrer The Great Father was Rs. 4.25 crores and the Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan was Rs. 4.08 crores. This makes Villain top the list right now.

According to reports from the Kerala box office, the film had collected Rs. 4.91 crores on day one and Rs. 2.81 crores the next.

'Villain' Review: Mohanlal is all style but the film lacks substance

B Unnikrishnan directorial Villain is a crime thriller about a cop who loses his family. No, that's not a spoiler. The families, in almost every Indian cop film that you watch, only exist to be slaughtered or harmed in some way. The surprise here is that Mathew Ips (a stylish Mohanlal with a salt and pepper beard) doesn't quite take the route that you'd expect him to.

However, this surprise isn't quite enough to knock your socks off. The film plods along in a predictable vein and with a good dose of pretentiousness. But we'll get to that later.

Mohanlal to take three-month break from ‘Odiyan’ shoot, signs another film

Mohanlal is currently busy playing the title role in Odiyan, which is being directed by Va Shri Kumar Menon. The shooting of this film has been happening in Varanasi for the past few weeks and according to reports, the team would go in for a three-month break before the next schedule commences. The long break is for Mohanlal to shed up to 15 kgs of weight so that he could play the younger version of his role in Odiyan. Composer Shaan Rahman has said the latest viral sensation "Jimikki Kammal" is the most viewed Malayalam song on Youtube with over 30 million views in just 49 days, making it the fastest track to reach the milestone.

The song is from Mohanlal-starrer "Velipadinte Pusthakam".

"Jimikki Kammal has become the most viewed Malayalam Song on YouTube. We've created history in just under a couple of months,... We owe this success to each and everyone out there," Shaan posted on Twitter on Saturday.
